    Will Crossbow kill hemlock?
Overrun with Poison Hemlock! And is it best to apply to foliage or cut them down and then apply? Pasture with horses actively grazing. Thank you.

Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled to control poison hemlock so we cannot recommend it for this use. Hi-Yield Range and Pasture 2,4-D Amine is labeled for it and for pastures, but horses should be removed for 7 days after application per the label.  Hi-Yield Range and Pasture Dicamba + D is also lab…

    Q
If dandelions seed out after spraying Crossbow, will the seeds be viable and continue to spread?
    A

Yes, that is a possibility since Crossbow Herbicide is a post emergent herbicide.  It does not offer pre emergent properties that would target germinating weeds or seeds.  For a pre emergent for dandelions you could use something like Prodiamine 65 WDG

    Q
Will Crossbow kill black walnut tree saplings?
I would like to cut the saplings down and paint the stump to prevent the black walnuts stump from re-sprouting. Will Crossbow prevent any new growth to eventually kill the tree? Trees are approximately 2-4 inches in diameter.

    Q
Will Crossbow Herbicide kill trumpet vine?
And how long after can you plant certain hardier flowers or bushes Thanks

  • Asked by Greg from Bellevue, Wa
    04/21/2017
    Q
When can I cut down blackberry vines after applying Crossbow Herbicide?
I just applied Crossbow to blackberries in the Spring. However, they are growing fast (in my lawn), and I wanted to cut them down so I can mow my lawn. I have seen that it takes 7-14 days for Crossbow to work on blackberries, but I am specifically wondering if it is still entering through the foliage over this entire time period. In other words, I don't want to cut off the foliage while it is feeding poison to the plant. But at the same time, I need to contain the spread, so that I may now the lawn. I saw a response to a similar question that suggested pruning prior to applying Crossbow. I've already applied Crossbow and would like to know when I can cut without rendering Crossbow ineffective. Thanks!
    A

Yes, Crossbow Herbicide is still being absorbed in the plant throughout that time period. We do normally recommend that you prune the plant before you apply Crossbow. It is recommended that you wait at least 30 days before pruning the plants once Crossbow has been applied. You can still cut the plan…

  • Asked by Jacques from Thibodaux, La
    07/19/2016
    Q
What can I plant after spraying Crossbow Herbicide?
In May, I sprayed a planned no-till food plot (for deer) with crossbow, thinking I was using plain 2,4 d. I would like to plant something there in September. It looks like grasses are OK. How about wheat/oats? Brassicas? Also, what can I plant next year? Thanks for your help.
    A

You will need to wait at least 3 weeks before replanting in areas where Crossbow Herbicide has been applied. This would apply to any plants in pasture or range areas. For any edibles for human consumption, you would need to wait at least 1 year before planting.
