    Q
What types of shrubs and trees will Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer harm?
I have treated my lawn and as a result, I have very little poa aunna left. Can I use Atrazine to treat the weeds at the edges of my beds without harming the trees and shrubs?
    A

    Q
Can you spray the soil with atrazine before installing new St. Augustine sod?
    A

We wouldn’t recommend using Hi-Yield Atrazine prior to laying St Augustine sod.  The label states that it should only be applied to turf that isn’t under stress, and mentions that it could stunt the growth of or yellow sprigged turf

    Q
After applying Hi-Yield Atrazine, can I let chickens free range in this area?
This is where the chickens are mostly
    A

Since Hi-Yield Atrazine is not labeled for use in grazing areas or around poultry houses, we would not recommend allowing chickens to enter the treated area if they will be feeding there or if the chickens or their eggs are going to be consumed.

  • Asked by Rod from Ocala, Fl
    09/24/2018
    Q
Will Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer control chamberbitter?
    A

Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer is not specifically labeled for chamberbitter. This is a very stubborn weed. Preemergent applications with a product like Isoxaben 75 WG have proven to be the most effective way to control this weed. Research from several extension pages do suggest the use of Atrazine for this weed, but we are not able to guarantee its effectiveness. Also keep in mind given how persistent and pesky chamberbitter is, there is no one and done solution to take care of the weed so repeat applications may be necessary.

    Q
I have centipede grass but also have rattlesnake weed (Florida Betony) and nothing I've tried kills the weed
I've tried roundup and another product that I can't remember now what it is but neither of them really worked well. I also have the weed in my flower beds.
    A

Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer can be used for Florida Betony in centipede lawns.  There is also a great article here by UGA that can help with timing and control methods.  RoundUp is still the best in landscaped/flower beds.

  • Asked by Jerry from Davenport Fl
    06/11/2018
    Q
Directions say to apply Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer when temp is under 90. What about after application?
Is it safe to apply if temp goes above 90 say 4 hours after application?
    A

Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer can be applied early in the morning before temperatures reach 90 degrees if it's expected to get this hot on the day of application.  You just do not want to apply during the time of high temperature because your desirable turfgrass is under more stress in high heat.

  • Asked by Bart from Fernandina Beach

    Q
Can I use Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer to kill bermuda grass in my St Augustine lawn?
    A

Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer is not labeled to control Bermuda grass in St. Augustine. Unfortunately, because Bermuda and St. Augustine grasses are so closely related, there is nothing that will kill the Bermuda without harming the St. Augustine as well.  It is typically recommended to spot treat the Bermuda with a non-selective glyhposate product and kill it directly, and then replant St. Augustine in those areas if necessary.
