If used around a pond, will Hi-Yield 2,4-D Selective Weed Killer hurt ducks and fish?

iam treating the perimeter around my pond and dont want tio ham my ducks, geese and fish

Answer:

You can use Hi-Yield 2,4-D Selective Weed Killer to treat floating and emerged aquatic weeds, but not submerged weeds. Avoid submerging plants after treatment. Application should be made when leaves are fully developed above the water line and the target plants are actively growing. Since treatment of aquatic weeds can result in oxygen loss from decomposition of dead weeds and this loss can cause fish suffocation, only treat 1/3 to 1/2 of the water area in a single operation and wait at least 21 days between treatments. Please refer to the product label for complete application directions. This product is considered safe for wildlife in the area when used as directed. Of course, we do not recommend spraying while ducks or geese are present in the immediate area.
