  • Asked by Rachel from Independence, Ky

    Q
Can I use Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait outdoors where I am seeing ants trailing up my house?
    A

Per the Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait product label for outdoor application: A careful inspection around a structure can help identify areas where ants are nesting, actively foraging, or are gaining access to the structure. Place bait on or adjacent to the structure where you observe ants or to areas of suspected ant activity to control ants before they enter the structure. Place bait in cracks and crevices (in brick walls, between pavement slabs, in tree holes, under stones, etc.) where ants are seen to be active or ant trails are evident. To maximize residual effectiveness, apply Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait in locations that are protected from direct sunlight and rain or irrigation. Make spot treatments outdoors where ants are seen, next to ant trails and suspected areas of ant activity. Likely locations for bait placements are points of entry into structure (e.g., along windows, doors, between construction elements) and areas where ants may find water (e.g., eaves, soffits, weep holes), and especially where wires or pipes enter the structure. Bait can also be applied at trees, stumps, roots, wood decks, fences, planter boxes, woodpiles, landscaping, and railroad ties where ants may build nests

    Q
How much Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait should be put in a bait station? How many bait stations will one 120g tube fill?
    A

  • Asked by Wayne from Florida
    04/29/2016
    Q
Will Maxforce Quantum harm honey bees since it's a sugar based attractant?
The entrance on the tray looks big enough for bees
    A

We have not heard of the Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait or the included stations being used around honey bees, but if they were to get into the station and ingest the product it could kill them.  If you are trying to control hive beetles, the most commonly purchased product for hive beetle control is the Maxforce FC Roach Bait stations. These stations are purchased by honey bee farmers and seem to be very effective.

    Q
How long will Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait last after diluted with the New Approved Dilution Directions?
    A

Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait is good for up to 3 months when used in bait plate stations undiluted. If diluting in a sugar water solution, then the exact timing will depend on temperature and moisture in the area. Most bait solutions like this last up to about 30 days, but be sure you replace any bait that appears moldy at any time. You also should maintain a fresh supply of bait as long as ants are present and accepting it.
