    Poor Design - DON'T Buy

    By Farmer on 09/02/2023

This feeder is designed to keep filling up with water as you use it. There is no way to determine when you have finished using the product - the water starts out blue and is still blue, although a lighter shade, when all of the product is used. So, you then have to then safely dispose of the blue water somehow. Scott's doesn't have a recommendation for that... I tried running for a longer period; the blue was still there. I would like to return to the feeder with the siphon tube so you can tell when you have used all of the product as the container is empty!

No Good, Don’t waste your monry

    By Robin on 05/28/2024

For the past 8 years miracle grow feeders aren’t worth the money you have to spend on them. I’ve been buying 1 every year thinking maybe I’ll get one that will work. But never happens. My problem with these feeders 1: they leak around where you hook your water hose to it. 2: They spray out way too much food at once which will lead to burning your plants causing them to die. The older feeders were a whole lot better than these new fangled ones. Please go back to the way you made the older feeders

Q
Picked up a sprayer at a garage sale. Is a hose washer necessary?
A

A hose washer is usually needed for a flush seal and no leaks when attaching your water hose to the Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder. You may be able to find a gasket/washer at a hardware store that fits and works to replace the missing one from your unit, or you can contact the manufacturer directly to see if they have one they can send you.

Q
Even after watering 60 roses, I still had granules left in the feeder. Could the feeder be clogged?
A

Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder has a 40 - 50 gallon capacity, depending on the packet size of feed. 1 lb of feed comes in this feeder for the first feeding. If you are having trouble using the sprayer you purchased, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased it, or you can reach Scott's directly at 888-270-3714.

Q
Intermittent color

My sprayer is intermittently between light blue and clear. When it is clear i turn unit upside down and then is is blue for awhile then goes clear again. Repeat and repeat. Is this normal

A
When using the Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder it is normal to see the water alternate blue and clear as you spray. As the sprayer is adding water to the reservoir from your hose flow it is mixing all the fertilizer in the container at once and pulling bits of it out as it sprays. If the solution seems to settle in the jar or is close to the bottom, agitating it or shaking it a few times while you are not spraying can help it pull a more even solution as you go. If you feel your unit is not working correctly we would recommend contacting Scotts directly as they are the manufacturer of that device.

Q
miracle grow sprayer

does the miracle grow hose end speayer have a plastic straw to distribute the firtilizer with the water? when i buy the unit it will not distribute the firtilizer.

A

No, there is no internal tube in the Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder. There is no need of one with this feeder, as the water gets fed into the feeder and then cycled back out through an internal syphon on the inside of the cap.

Q

Q
How does it really work? What am I doing wrong

Why doesn't the bottle ever get empty or the water run clear? I have watched videos etc? The spray is never blue all clear and when I open the container all the blue residue is at the bottom

Q
If I have leftover fertilizer of Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder in my sprayer after spraying my garden, can I still use later for weekly feedings?
A

Generally, you should not store mixed, concentrated products for longer than 24 hours in the Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder or any sprayer. Concentrated products will begin to separate which can cause clogging and will also begin to lose efficacy over time. We recommend mixing only what you intend to use and discarding any leftover solution.

Q
How much feed do I put onto sprayer! 1 cup? 2 cups?
A
The Miracle-Gro Garden Feeder is made to be used with water-soluble plant foods, which would be a solid granule concentrate. According to the manufacturer, a 1 lb packet of plant food should make approximately 40 gallons of solution to cover 400 square feet, and it would dispense in 10-12 minutes. The feeder will dispense 4 gallons of solution per minute (about 15 Liters). If you are having trouble using the sprayer you purchased, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased it, or you can reach Scott's directly at 888-270-3714.
