The New York Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population contains three different professional products that work together to treat large areas or heavy populations of mosquitoes on most properties anywhere in the US. The products in this kit contain different active ingredients that target different stages of mosquito development for the most thorough population control. Essentria Mosquito and Tick Concentrate is a liquid concentrate derived from natural botanical oils that kills biting adult mosquitoes both on contact and after it has dried on structures and on ornamental plants. NyGuard IGR is an Insect Growth Regulator that interferes with mosquitoes’ development, preventing immature mosquitoes from breeding. BTI Mosquito Dunks contain a natural bacteria that control developing mosquitoes in standing water. Both Essentria Mosquito and Tick and BTI Mosquito Dunks contain all-natural active ingredients.
We recommend that the most complete Mosquito Treatment always include a good Inspection as well as lawn Sanitation to find and reduce the hot spots where mosquitoes breed and harbor. Using this complete approach will ensure you get the best results out of your pesticide applications.
You will need spray equipment such as a hand pump sprayer to apply the Essentria IC Pro.

The products in the New York Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population are easy to measure and apply and have quantities that treat most yards through mosquito season. This kit also contains two all-natural products that are safe to use around aquatic life. As with all pests, it is crucial to address the environmental conditions that support mosquito populations. While it is unrealistic to expect 100% control of all mosquitoes, taking the time to do a good Inspection so that you can address both land and water conditions that favor mosquitoes will help you get the best results from your mosquito Treatment.
How to Apply the New York Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population
STEP 1 - SANITATION
Because mosquitoes need water to lay eggs and develop, finding and eliminating water sources is a crucial step when managing mosquito populations.
*Check for areas where rainwater collects such as bird baths, flowerpots, gutters, rain barrels, pool covers, animal drinking water receptacles, deep hollows in trees, standing puddles, and any other areas where water may collect. Minimize water collection and empty these containers as you are able, and treat other standing water with larvicides (see STEP 2).
*Keep trees and shrubs pruned and grasses short to reduce areas where moisture is retained and adult mosquitoes like to rest.
*Remove or reduce piles of yard debris to reduce harborage areas.
STEP 2 - LARVICIDE - BTI Mosquito Dunks
BTI Mosquito Dunks are a ready-to-use product containing Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis (Bti), a natural toxin to mosquito larvae. Dunks will float, offering a sustained release of the active ingredient in water; subsequent wetting and drying will not reduce the effectiveness of the dunks. Dunks are also approved for Organic Production by the EPA.
*Use 1 dunk to treat up to 100 square feet of water, regardless of depth.
*Use dunks to treat almost any containerized standing water site such as bird baths, gutters, animal feeding troughs, small ponds, rain barrels, unused swimming pools or hot tubs, or almost anywhere else water is expected to collect for 24 hours or more. BTI briquets also can be used indoors in areas where that may flood, such as basements and elevator shafts.
*To secure dunks, anchor them with a string tied through the center hole or with a stake.
*For areas with very high larval populations or organic buildup such as algae growth, use up to 4 briquets per 100 square feet.
*For smaller areas such as bird baths, flower pots, and animal troughs, briquets may be broken apart into smaller pieces:
*1 to 5 square feet: use ¼ dunk
*5 to 25 square feet: use ½ dunk
*The active ingredient will continue to release for an average of 30 days.
*Bti is safe for use around fish, aquatic life, amphibians, other beneficial insects, and pets.
*Do not apply to finished human drinking water.
*Bti dunks can also be used in waste water treatment plants by placing dunks in a perforated basket such as a minnow basket. Suspend the basket in the waste water stream before the water enters the trickling filter.
*Store unused dunks in a cool, dry place out of reach of children and pets.
STEP 3 - INSECTICIDE and IGR - Essentria Mosquito and Tick Concentrate and NyGuard IGR
Essentria Mosquito and Tick Concentrate is a liquid concentrate derived from all natural botanical oils that offers both initial knockdown and residual protection from biting adult mosquitoes. Essentria Mosquito and Tick must be diluted in water and applied with pressurized equipment such as the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer.*Dilute Essentria Mosquito and Tick at a rate of 4 - 8 oz. of concentrate per gallon of water per 1,000 square feet. Use the lower rate for prevention or maintenance. Use up to 8 oz. for cleanout of heavier populations.
*Shake Essentria Mosquito and Tick well before measuring. Squeeze bottle to fill small reservoir with desired amount of concentrate. Unscrew only the cap on the small reservoir to dispense the pre-measured liquid. To dilute, fill application tank 1/3 - 1/2 with desired volume of water, add Essentria Mosquito and Tick Concentrate, then agitate to begin mixing. Add remaining volume of water, then agitate tank again before spraying.
*Apply Essentria Mosquito and Tick/NyGuard IGR solution to adult mosquito resting areas, including ornamental plants such as dense brush, tall grasses, and especially the undersides of leaves on trees and bushes. Also treat resting areas on structures such as under eaves or other overhangs, under decks and porches, and in other moist, shady areas.
*Essentria Mosquito and Tick alone can also be applied to low-lying areas where water tends to pool, such as marshy areas or ornamental vegetation along shorelines. (Do not apply NyGuard IGR to natural bodies of water.)*Apply when mosquitoes are most active for the best knockdown: spray early in the morning, in early afternoon, or after sunset.
*Resist the urge to broadcast over the entire yard and home since this may also reduce populations of beneficial insects and predators.
*Do not apply spray solution to edible plants.
*Keep pets and other people out of the treatment area until the application has dried, usually about an hour.
*Repeat applications every 14-30 days as needed.
*Store unused product in the original container in a temperate environment and out of direct sunlight. Store out of reach of children or pets for up to 2 years.
*For even faster applications, especially in larger areas, apply with a mist blower such as the Solo 451 Mist Blower. Dilution rates remain the same, however power mist blowers will dispense product much more quickly and ensure more thorough coverage into dense foliage.

Also, do I need to wear goggles/respirator/etc when applying with a power sprayer?
Yes, when using the New York Mosquito Control Kit - Heavy Population you do mix the EcoVia and Tekko Pro together in a gallon of water. We would recommend that you use the Nitrile Chemical Resistant Gloves, but not necessarily a respirator mask.

Do I have to be ceritified to purchase and use your products in indiana?
We would suggest the New York Mosquito Control Kit if a resident was wanting an eco friendly application for mosquito control especially around bodies of water. The products in the New York Mosquito Control Kit are not restricted to Indiana so for treating your own home, you would not need to have a pest control applicators license.
