    Are the Nuvan strips sold individually? I only see the 12 pack which I don't need that many.

    How long should a NuVan ProStrip remain in an closet to eradicate any remaining clothes moths or eggs?
    The closet will be taped off, I also want to ensure its safe to sleep in the room with the closet being treated while it's taped off?

    Nuvan ProStrips are labeled to be effective from 2 weeks to 4 months in a closet for insect control. They are labeled for moths not specifically clothes moths. You want to allow the vapors in an enclosed area to build up to a level that will be lethal to the insects that your are trying to eliminate. Opening and closing the doors to these enclosed spaces may result in poor efficacy. It is best to make sure things are loosely packed into the areas to insure that the vapors can adequately circulate through the items that need to be treated.     Can I use Nuvan ProStrips in a bag with clothing?
    A

    You can bag clothes with a nuvan strip .  However, it is worth mentioning that even without placing your clothes in a bag with a nuvan stip for 2 to 4 weeks, anything that will go in a dryer for about 15 minutes on even low heat will kill all stages of bed bugs instantly.  So if you are going to wash them anyway and you didn't want to wait for 2 weeks before wearing something, you could wash and dry it and be assured there were no bed bugs when it came out of the dryer.

    Can I use Nuvan ProStrips in boxes of Christmas decorations for bedbugs?

    Yes, Nuvan ProStrips can be used inside closed containers of items for eradication of bedbugs. You will want to leave them for at least 2 weeks up to 4 months.

    Can Nuvan Pro Strips be used in hotel rooms to control cockroaches?
    A
    Nuvan Pro Strips only work if they are in small confined areas where the vapors that are released from the strips can be concentrated. Using Nuvan Pro Strips out in a hotel room is against the product label and would not be effective. Please refer to our Roach Control Kit # 2 for the recommended roach control products you should use in a hotel.

    Can I put papers, etc. in a tote or a bag and seal it up tight with the Nuvan ProStrips?
    I have a lot of papers from my kids school that I didn't want to throw away. What should I do?

    Yes, Nuvan ProStrips are a great option for paperwork and other items that cannot be sprayed, dusted, heated, etc.

    How many Nuvan ProStrips are needed for 56-quart plastic tub?
    I see we can cut the strips down when doing the tub method for books. Approximately what fraction of a small strip would be sufficient to treat a 56-quart plastic bin?

    The manufacturer of the Nuvan ProStrips advises against cutting the strips. We recommend that you do not overly pack bags/containers/totes too full with belongings so that the vapors can work around the items effectively. You can use 1 full strip per tub.

    Can we place items that cannot be washed or heated into a garbage bag with Nuvan ProStrips for bed bug control?

    Yes, you can place items into bags with Nuvan ProStrips for bed bug control.  Be sure to pack the items loosely in the bags so that the vapors can circulate. You do not want to pack the bags too full. You will need to leave the items sealed in the bags for at least 2 weeks.

    Can Nuvan strips be used inside a breatheable cloth clothes storage bag?

    Nuvan ProStrips would not be recommended to be used in this type of bag since it is not completely sealed and the vapors could escape.

    Will Nuvan Strips harm photos?
    I want to bin up some old photo frames and pictures. Do the Nuvan strips adversely affect photos? Most are irreplaceable.

    Old photo frames and pictures should be fine as the Nuvan Strips are designed to not harm or leave an odor in treated items, only to release a vapor to kill the insects.     Is it OK to use Nuvan Prostrips in a Kitchen pantry?
    I have a nasty pantry moths infestation to control and they seem to be everywhere in the cabinets storing dry food. All salvaged food is in airtight containers now, but there are larvae in many appliances and crevices of the furniture: can I use the Nuvan Prostrips for this?

    Nuvan ProStrips can be placed in a closet, however the closet would have to remain closed for at least 2 weeks.  If you will be opening the closet then it will not work because the vapor will constantly escape.  We would recommend using our pantry pest kit which has a crack and crevice aerosol tool to get around shelving and baseboards where the larvae are hiding, and it also has pheromone traps for the adults that are flying around.

    Would Nuvan ProStrips be recommended for Silverfish?
    An exterminator told me I can put my clothes in a bag with the strips for a few weeks to kill them. Or do they also die in the dryer?

    Nuvan ProStrips can be used for silverfish but these are not usually found to infest clothing.  You can just put clothers through a wash and dry cycle and it wil kill anything on them.

    The Nuvan ProStrips will last up to 4 months to listed areas only. It is not recommended to apply into wall voids.

    How many Nuvan ProStrips and for how long can I use for treatment of my car: it Volkswagen Golf TDI 2011.
    Should I use the tape to cover the doors or any other measure to successfully treat the bedbugs in my car?
    A
    You will need to determine how many cubic feet of space you need to treat and you will use 1 strip for every 100 cubic feet of space. The strips will need to stay sealed in the area for at least 3-4 weeks to be effective. You should make sure that the area is not tightly packed so that the vapor can move around and contact all of the space. We do not recommend that you use the Nuvan Strips as your sole protection against bedbugs. You should also use a product such as Bedlam or Sterifab to treat all of the cracks and crevices where the vapor may not be able to penetrate.     Can I use the Nuvan ProStrips in a mattress protector with my mattress inside and still sleep on it?
    Basically I want to put a mattress protector on my bed and put a prostrip inside it to kill the bugs for sure. And if like to put one in my box spring to kill any inside it. Are these things okay or safe to do with me still present?

    Safe for a clothes closet in use?
    I live in a small apartment and have clothing moths I've tried to eradicate with a spray but they came back. I have a medium sized closet (not walk in). I'd like to either bomb the closet or use these strips, but my clothes are in there, and the closet opens into my bathroom. Is it safe to use Nuvan strips in a closet that's in use? I can keep the door closed most of the time, but I can't seal it, and I want to continue to wear the clothes hanging in it. If Nuvan is not safe, is there a bomb or similar alternative? Removing all the clothes, spraying them and spraying the closet itself has not worked. It's an older apartment building and I suspect they're in some crevice I can't see or reach.

    Can a relatively large enclosed space be treated with Nuvan ProStrips?
    I have a bed chamber, a room the size of a queen size mattress plus a few inches and about an 8ft ceiling height. (Real ceiling, not drop ceiling) It has a very low level bedbug infestation. (Saw and killed only 8 living BBs, including nymphs, during the cleaning) I already have the bed encasements and will be applying them shortly. I also have silica gel dust to apply in the area afterward. Once I do those things can I seal up the one vent and the doorway with plastic sheeting and tape, and toss in a nuvan strip (or two) to gas the enclosed space?

    Nuvan ProStrips should not be used in regular living areas such as bedrooms, living rooms, etc. Even when we are treating smaller enclosed spaces with the Nuvan ProStrips, you should leave the items in the treatment area with the strips for at least 2 weeks for bed bug treatments. You should focus your treatment, instead, on direct crack and crevice treatment with sprays and dusts approved for this use. You can learn more in our Bed Bug Treatment Guide.     Why do items sometimes require a longer treatment time with Nuvan ProStrips?
    I see answers here recommending 1-2 weeks of treatment, and others that recommend 3-4 weeks. Can you help me understand which cases require the longer treatments?

    When treating for bed bugs on items with the Nuvan ProStrips the standard treatment time is 2 weeks minimum per the manufacturer but the product label gives information about it lasting 4 months for other pests. If it is a severe infestation some customers feel more comfortable leaving items sealed for longer
