Nyguard and Telstar P kill Zika Virus Mosquitoes
By Norma on 09/21/2016
I wrote before, but wanted to be sure to tell people that NyGuard with an adult insect killer has virtually done away with all fleas and mosquitoes . I said that in my last review, but so many people are worried about mosquitoes because of the Zika virus, that is in Florida, and is showing up in a few other states. Anyone pregnant or wanting to get pregnant, please protect yourself. Have someone else spray for you, and wait to go out till it is dry. Most counties do not have the funds to use these products. I have not had any mosquito bites in about 3 years, before that I got bit day and night.

I used this product in my home (severe infestation)
By Kathleen on 06/02/2014
I used this product in combination with professional insecticide for roaches called Demon WP and max-force roach bait I think that I saw a mager reduction in live roaches as a whole but a few but the reproduction rate was hard to see a immediate decline but after multiple applications we almost eliminated the entire roach infestation I see one every couple of days and that definitely beats seeing thousands everyday! And I still see the few stragglers reproducing so I think in-conjunction with the other products it can work some!

Well Done
By Barry on 08/19/2015
I have had animals for 40 years and from time to time have had a flea problem. This summer seemed to get quickly out of control to the point that my dogs and back yard were out of control. I washed everything as best as I could and right up until the time I began to spray I had fleas jumping on my legs. I spray the kennel and worked my way out into the yard doing my best to provide a fine mist onto the grass. Left the area for the advised 30 minute drying period and when I returned...no fleas. Washed them off the dog and even three weeks later I have yet to have a flea jump on me or found them on the dog. We have had 3 or 4 heavy rains since then and still no fleas. Every other treatment I have used wanted me to go back in 14 days to kill the new fleas coming from the egg cycle. Not with NyGuard. Sprayed once and have had no returning pest to speak of. I followed the directions and used the .02 method in the kennel as well as the yard. Great stuff!

Used for biting insects on south Florida lawn
By Ben on 06/25/2016
I sprayed this in conjunction with Talstar and Permethin. I have used the Talstar and nyguard before but didn't get the initial knockdown, (it would take around 5 days to take affect) by adding permethrin the results where noticeable the next morning. Has been a week now and no bites on my dog or son. Using this combination usually lasts about 60 days during summer months and 90+ during "winter"

Great for fleas, not so great for German roaches
By Brian on 09/02/2017
Although not any longer, I have been in the pest control industry for 18 years both as an applicator and an owner. I have seen my share of bad infestations of every type of insect Texas has to offer. My neighbor had what I would call a moderate infestation of German Roaches and I used the required dosage of nyguard in my B&G along with Demand (CS), had my neighbor remove everything from his Kitchen, pull the fridge out, and the oven as well bc the kitchen was the main source of the problem. I methodically treated the kitchen area along with all the rest of his home and it has been over 2 months since I first treated it and one month since I treated it a second time and I gotta tell you, I'm not seeing much of a change. I'm going to give this a bit longer to show me some progress, otherwise I just assume attacking them using the max force products I've always used in the past.

This stuff ROCKS!
By Janet on 04/24/2020
I had a bad German roach issue in my kitchen. The local exterminators wanted $900+ in 3 months to hopefully take care of issue. I also needed to commint to quarterly service for additional fees. I read the info on this site. Spent $50 and a $10 sprayer! I sprayed my house once. Refilled sprayer and everytime i saw a roach i sprayed it. 10 days later i resprayed the entire house again. There are still a few and i spray them. But i see the light at the end of the tunnel. $60 and 2 weeks is way better then $900.

Amazing when used along with Bifenthrin (Talstar, BifenIT
By A.e on 09/20/2023
When used with Bifenthrin, these two did an amazing job! For 15 years I had spent $100s every year on various pesticides from Home Depot & Lowes! In those 15 years, mosquitoes were always a constant frustration almost every 3-4 weeks after spraying - nothing from HD/Lowe's lasted long or worked on everything. And it proved too expensive to treat my entire lawn, or at least everything within 100ft of the house. Fire Ants - nothing ever killed the mound , despite claiming that it would. Another mound would pop up 5, 10, 15 ft away within a week or two! Beetles, caterpillars, gnats, flies and all sorts of flying insects - nothing ever controlled those. We have a large 750sqft flagstone patio with a firepit and BBQ - even during hot summer days, the Asian Tiger Mosquitoes would find you and bite, bite, bite. And always from an hour before dusk to an hour after dawn, all the flying bugs would be out... we could rarely used our backyard patio from late Spring evenings to early Fall evenings. Until I discovered DoMyOwn.com! After researching & reading the product labels & SDS, buying the appropriate equipment, I applied NyGuard IGR with BifenIT using the Chapin Professional Hose-end Sprayer with Metering Dial (G362D), (you have to do a little math to get the proportions correct). I sprayed approximately 45,000sqft of lawn, shrubs, trees, flowerbeds, as well as house exterior walls, windows, doors and eaves. Yes, this consumed the entire 140ml bottle of NyGuardIGR. It is now late Sept 2023, and the fire ant mounds, which would normally survive the summer-long drought, are still nowhere to be seen. All other bugs, flying insects and mosquitoes have been virtually non-existent all summer long, although this is partly due to the summer-long drought/severe lack of rain. I plan to use this every year, by late March next time to get massive knockdown of all the bugs and get us thru the Spring, Summer thru early Fall. (Don't get me wrong - I believe insects are vital to our world, to plants and the ecosystem. But...but... I LIVE IN WHAT WAS ONCE SWAMPLAND, not far from swampland that's although 15-20 miles away, takes only a stiff Gulf breeze to bring them all back. So while you might have thought I'm in some great big city suburban community that's fairly sterilized... my homestead is completely the opposite. The closest environment I can think of is South Florida, not too far from the Everglades. 85+% humidity down here, and inches of rain every 1-2 weeks (except for this summer LOL!)... we also get lots of critters, but the neighborhood stray cats, hawks, possums, and raccoons get them for us, oh and the occasional Springtime alligator.) Application Rate: 4-6 ml per 1500sqft. (mixed with BifenIT that was applied at a rate of 1.0 ml per 1000sqft.) Location: 60 miles south of Houston, 25 miles from Gulf Coast. When applied: mid-May 2023, 90degF day/75degF nights, Dry conditions. Amazing control, when used with BifenIT, and both applied per respective labels, of: Fire Ants, Carpenter Ants, Crazy Ants, Mosquitoes (all species especially the Asian Tiger Mosquito), Gnats, small beetles, Flies, nearly all (unidentified) flying insects, caterpillars, "Love bugs".

Seems to work
By Kevin on 11/23/2015
I add this to the Talstar when I spray. I have several rentals and I will spray between tenants to make certain they don't have a bug issue. I can't be certain what is working but something is. It may be a few years between tenants and the bugs do not get out of hand.

Nyguard for fleas/springtails
By Jennifer on 10/30/2020
We have used this product for a couple years now to reduce flea and springtails activity. It works great both inside and outside. We spray along our foundation, underneath a covered porch area and underneath our rear deck. We have also sprayed this into our baseboards and rugs. I would recommend this product to anyone battling either of these issues. I am sure it works just as well for all the insects on its label.

Outside Plan
By Darryl on 10/27/2015
We are using this outside and Ultracide inside. The plan is to stop adult fleas. It makes sense to kill adults and prevent more eggs, and the ones that are there, can not grow to the adults stage. It is the best plan that makes sense.

Works Great
By Timmy on 06/28/2017
I mix Nyguard with Cyper WSP and it controls all types of insects. I used to see big spiders, water bugs, beetles, ants, and other insects. After first spray, I didn't see any insects for about 2.5 months. Then when I did see an insect. It would be a very small infant size insect. This stuff definitely works and disrupts the life cycle of various insects.

fleas
By Mike on 08/14/2017
Two new kittens spread fleas thru the house before we realized it. Been using the Nyguard IGR mixed with Onslaught to spray our carpets once a week. After two applications it knocked them back pretty good. Just did a third application after a flea jumped on me from our basement. Must spray all the areas each time then give the cats a CAP Guard pill. Hopefully the third time is a charm.

Seems to work well...
By Pete on 12/20/2017
I did a pre-treatment Ny-Gard/Conquer for fleas and ticks on a previously infected backyard about three weeks prior to bringing a dog to the house. Two weeks after the dogs arrival I have not had any incidents. In fact I have not seen any other bug; and the annoying house flies diminished in number. I decided to cancel with my pest control company and try this formula out for a while. The items arrived quickly, the website has a lot of information. Highly recommend this combination.

Great product, poor packaging
By Daron on 09/06/2019
A great, easy to mix, effective product. The bottles are easy to measure, but seem like the caps always leak. I always carry a small bottle in my technician bag among other thing products, but this always is the one that gets all over everything. I started keeping a big bottle in the truck box to refill the smaller one in my bag as needed. Within a couple weeks everything had leaked out of the big bottle all over my toolbox! What a waste of over $100 worth of chemical all over my truck! It's a great product, but very upset. If you can't keep bottles upright all the time be prepared for a mess.

Nygard IGR
By Yvonne on 08/15/2020
I finally, after many years have fleas under control. Although I have no pets, the fleas in my lawn and around my house here in South Florida were horrendous. Spraying and killing the adult fleas didn't stop the infestation. Once I started adding NyGuard to the Talstar product, the fleas are finally gone.

Works fantastic!!
By Michael on 06/30/2023
used Nygurad IGR and Bifen IT, along with max force roach gel. I live in SC and we have noseemums(small annoying gnats) and palmetto bugs(aka cockroaches). Wehn we moved into our house, we would see the cockroaches all the time. We are super clean and neat, cleaned everything. Used the combo spray in my backpack sprayer and put the gel down and in the shed. After a couple weeks, roaches were basically gone and no bugs around at all. I reapplied a couple months after and I saw one dead roach since then. AMAZING! People said it's impossible to get rid of them. Well after my 3rd application a few months after, haven't seen one roach, dead or alive. Those gnats are completely gone and I can workout out in my outdoor gym, at dusk in the summer and not have one bug near me.
