    Q
Just moved to OR and need a good general pest control solution for my home.
Don't care about being "green", just want them dead and out of my house! Have seen a couple of bugs in kitchen and one in the bathroom, I have no idea what they are (bathroom one looked beetle-ish). I have a 16 month old baby and two chihuahuas and need to be able to spray around them.
    A

Without knowing exactly what you are treating for, it is hard for us to make a product recommendation that will fit your specific needs. We do carry a product called Onslaught and it is widely used for general pest control and is labeled for over 200 different insects. You will mix and apply according to the product label instructions when the children and dogs are not in the area. Once it is dried completely, they can re-enter the treated areas. Please read the product label for mixing and application instructions. Please click on the link below for the contact information to your local cooperative extension office for a pest identification.

    Q
Will Onslaught control Brown Recluse Spiders?
    A
Yes, Onslaught is a great product for spiders in general, including brown recluse spiders.  It is also labeled for almost a hundred other insects.  When treating for spiders inside, it is also advisable to use insect glue boards around the home in corners and behind furniture, etc....to help monitor the situation.  Glue boards are excellent for catching insects and keeping tabs on an insect situation.

  • Asked by Maurice from United States
    05/12/2014
    Q
Can Onslaught and Malathion be tank mixed?
We have a 1/4 acre home garden and 9 citrus trees in Florida. We also have 4 USAR dogs and our sandy soil creates the opportunity for a significant flea and chigger problem. We were wondering if Onslaught could be tank mixed with Malathion for use in our new garden and on/around the citrus trees (also the shrubs near the house) to compliment our successful use of Onslaught in the 1 acre dog yard and around the dog training equipment.
    A
Onslaught can only be tank mixed with a synergist or an IGR but not with other insecticides. Also, Onslaught is not labeled for use on or around any edible vegetation whether it be a garden or fruit tree.

  • Asked by Sheryl from Central Florida

    Q
How to kill fleas around the perimeter of the porch in Florida?
I don't have any pets, but there are squirrels, racoons, & stray cats that wander through our yard & drop fleas/eggs & they of course multiply & become a nuisance. For some unknown reason they jump on me when I sit outside. I've been trying to fight them off for years. I've used Permethrin, Bifenthrin,, IGRs & they seem to have become immune. What/how do you recommend alternating to prevent their immunity to knock these blood suckers out?
    A
You want to make sure when you are using products for fleas that you are spraying every 2 weeks and not any more often than that so that you aren't creating any resistance issues. Make sure you are keeping your grass short as this makes it harder for the fleas to thrive in your yard. If you believe the fleas are coming from the animals, you may want to try an animal repellent or deterrent to try and drive them away from your yard. One of the best recommendations for flea control we have would be the combination of Onslaught and Nyguard IGR. Onslaught is micro-encapsulated and sits on the surfaces you spray better and holds up to the outdoor elements longer before breaking down. The NyGuard IGR is formulated for fleas and many other insects and can hold up to sunlight for roughly 5 months. If you have tried several products and they are not working, you may want to get a sample of the insect to take to your local Cooperative Extension to get it properly identified by the Entomologist on staff. Treating for the wrong insect can often make your problems worse, so getting an identification from a trained professional is always recommended.

    Q
I am needing a general pesticide formulation that can be used on tile that has been finished with a wax?
    A

We recommend using Onslaught, if you are treating the floors as well. Onslaught is odorless, dries clear and treats many different types of insects.

Onslaught Insecticide: Mix 0.5 oz of Onslaught with 1 gallon of water (+ 1 oz of Martins IGR if needed, please see below) to treat a 1,000 sq ft area. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray to infested rugs, carpets, and pet resting areas.

  • Asked by Kortney from Tomball, Tx

    Q
I live in south Texas and have a bad problem with Leaf Cutter Ants. Is Onslaught good for this?
    A
Onslaught will only kill the leaf cutter ants that come incontact with the treated areas. Leaf cutter ants can have very large colonies, making it difficult to eliminate. We recommend using Maxforce Complete Granular Bait. Maxforce Complete contains hydramethylnon which is effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times.  Deltagard granules   would also be a recommended product. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in.

    Q
is there a liquid product I can use in a hose applicator to kill yellow jackets?
    A
Onslaught is a great product for control of yellow jackets. You could apply it via a hose-end sprayer. It should be diluted 1oz per gallon of water. Another great way to treat for yellow jackets is by applying an insecticidal dust such as Tempo to their nest. Night time is the best time to treat because that is when yellow jackets are less active.

  • Asked by Gerry from Milwaukee, Wi

    Q
We have hundreds of tiny bugs on our cedar deck. The are very tiny, microscopic. What should i use?
The bugs jump and appear to be mites, possibly wood or clover mites. What product can I use to get rid of them. This area is on the north side of the house and the weather has been unusually rainy.
    A
We can't give you a specific treatment method since we don't know exactly what species you are dealing with. You could try Onlaught Insecticide as it will hold up to the outdoor elements better with the way it is formulated, and covers over 200 pest on its label including some types of mites. You would mix 1 ounce per gallon of water and spray areas where the pest are present outdoors with the exception of edible vegetation. We suggest putting down glue boards similar to those used to catch mice and try to get some of the insect on them. You can then take a glue board to your Local Cooperative Extension office and have the Entomologist on staff help you make an identification. Once you know exactly what you are infested with, we can better direct you on a more direct treatment process.

  • Asked by Anae from Peru, Ma
    03/28/2016
    Q
    Will Onslaught kill cheyletiella mites?
We are battling with cheyletiella mites on our dogs, but I think they get reinfested from the environment. Is Onslaught the right product to kill those mites on the floors and around the dogs' bedding?
    A

Onslaught is not labeled for Cheyletiella mites and this type of mite does not live off of the host animal and do not infest the environment.  This mite is contagious by direct contact with other infected animals only. If a dog is constantly infested it could mean that an egg or mite was missed/still exists on the animal or they are being introduced from contact with infested animals.  We recommend that animals are seen by a veterinarian and treated according to the veterinarian's instructions.

    Is Onslaught good for noseeums?
    A
Onslaught is labeled for a wide variety of small flying insects including gnats, midges and other small biting flies and should help reduce the amount of noseeums on your property.
