Can I use liquid dish soap instead of surfactant with QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer?

We do not recommend using dish soap to replace the required surfactant when using QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer. Some can be ionic and may damage your lawn. We recommend using something like Duo Stick for best results.

What should I use on Cody buffalo grass to kill crabgrass?

QuinKill Max could be used on buffalograss for crabgrass control. For best results combine with an adjuvant such as DyneAmic which helps the product penetrate the waxy coating of leaves.

QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer has a three year shelf life from the date of purchase if stored in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Once mixed with water and surfactant it should be used within 24 hours of mixing

What product would you recommend to control torpedo grass in Bermuda grass?
I live in Florida and can't get ride of/or control torpedo grass. I have bermuda and looking for something that will control torpedo as well as other weeds.

Can I use Speedzone along with Quinkill Max Crabgrass & Weed Killer?
I am currently using Speedzone and very happy with it, but now the crabgrass is starting to come up in spots. Can I use Quinkill at the same time or alternate, or would that stress the grass too much?

How many ounces do I use per gallon to spot treat my crab grass with QuinKill?
I don't want to know how much per 1000 square feet. I want to know for spot treating purposes. I've been using 1.5 oz per gallon, results non existent. Should this product kill dandelions?

As with most herbicides like QuinKill Max the exact volume of water is not very important, you just need to be sure you are getting the correct amount of product on a specific area. Generally speaking 1 gallon covers 1000 sqft, so you can apply 1.45 fluid ounces in 1 gallon for spot treating. QuinKill can kill common dandelions but does state on the label Tank mix partner or sequential application required. Did you use a methylated seed oil surfactant which is required for use with this product? If you did not use a MSO with the product that could be the reason for not having success. Also the active ingredient in QuinKill is a slow kill can take up to 6 weeks to kill sprayed weeds when used as directed.

What else do I need for crabgrass control?
I've been trying to battle crabgrass forever. I've made three applications of the Hi-Yield crabgrass weed control since March 1st..and as well over-sprayed with the 2EW product. .25 oz. to 1 gallon. So far, I'm seeing little results and the crabgrass is thriving. What do I do? The temps are in the 80's now. Is there any hope at this point?

For better post-emergent control of crabgrass, we would suggest using Quinkill Max, which contains quinclorac. Quinclorac is the most popular post-emergent herbicide for crabgrass on cool-season turf. Be sure to use a surfactant such as Prime Source Duo Stick with QuinKill Max. This surfactant greatly helps reduce surface tension of applications to maximize absorption of the herbicide into the target plants. Post-emergents will work best on young, actively growing plants.

What is the best way to treat mid to late summer crabgrass?
I am in South Carolina. I have used quinclorac, with and without a surfactant, with little success . I have bermuda grass and pets. Rain is irregular here and I have three acres to treat. Can you suggest an effective alternate that addresses the crabgrass and is safe for the bermuda and pets? If a premergent is suggested for next season, please make a sugestion also. Thank you

Quinclorac is a great active to use and it must be used with a methylated seed oil surfactant such as Duo Stick for best results. With QuinKill max that you purchased, the timing is key though, under certain conditions, application of QuinKill made to annual grasses at 2 to 4 tiller may not provide complete control. A sequential application will be required for grass control in these situations. Optimum control is achieved when applications of QuinKill + methylated seed oil are applied either before second tiller or as weed grasses mature. What rate was it applied it? Do you know what tiller stage the crabgrass was at? How many applications have been made at what timing between them? What type of surfactant was used? Q is a slow kill and can take up to 6 weeks to kill. Q4 is an alternative that can kill faster and Dimension as a pre-emergent is good, it also has early post emergent crabgrass control.
