If rodents have made their way into your home you will first need to find the area they are using as a point of entry and exit to your home. If they are not coming into the main living areas of your home at all for you to be able to use snap or glue traps to catch them, then they are still coming and going from your home regularly in order to survive and find food and water outside the home. You may want to look at using a Tomahawk One Way Door Rodent Excluder that allows them to exit the home but not get back in before trying to use poison to eliminate them if dead rodents in your wall is a concern. In general, no bait on the market at all will keep the rodents from smelling. A decomposing carcus is still a decomposing carcus and has the ability to stink wherever it may die. The closest you will get to minimal smell is with the Rat X bait which should dry the rodents up a little faster to where you may not have to endure as much smell or for as long as you would with any other bait on the market.

You could also use multi-catch traps indoors such as the Catchmaster 612 Multi-Catch Mouse Trap. This trap can be used alone or with a Trapper LTD Glue Board inside each trap. A cat may be able to open this trap, so you would want to place it in a way where the animals could not turn it, or you could secure the lid with tape to keep it closed.
