    Q
How long does Sector Misting Concentrate last before you need to spray again?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate is primarily used in 55 gallon drum misting systems set up around a structure for contact kill and knock down of pests in the immediate area. It is not a long term residual product, so its often reapplied every few days if you are just looking for knock back of the current population of bugs for several hours to a day or so. If you are using it as a premise spray around the foundation, it recommends reapplying after 2 weeks.

    Q
How long do you have to wait after spraying Sector Misting Concentrate before watering?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate is mostly used in misting systems, however if you are following the instructions for use for general treatments outdoors, you would need to give at least 24 hours after an application before rain or irrigation occurs to allow the product time to work and to dry to the surfaces they were applied to.

    Q
How long after initial Sector Misting application do I need to reapply?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate can be reapplied in 7-14 days after the first initial application if used as a spray treatment under its label instructions. If used in a misting system with a drum and nozzles, the product is often dispersed at whatever frequency you have your system set to go off, which can be 1-3 times a day in most instances for knock down of flying pests.

    Q
What can be used to remove buildup of Sector Misting Concentrate on a wood deck near a sprayer? I have tried distilled vinegar with baking soda, CLR and ammonia and nothing is breaking down the residual buildup.
    A

Unfortunatley, if the buildup of Sector Misting Concentrate has alread hardened and/or absorbed into the wood, complete removal may be impossible.

We do carry Absorb Plus Water-Based Chemical Absorbent that can be used to clean up water based spills from insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc however it is advised to apply when the liquid is still present on the surface. If there is hardened buildup, this may not be effective for your desired results.

We would recommend contacting Aabaco Environmental directly to see if their product would work for your situation, they can be reached at 800-423-8850. The manufacturer of Sector Misting Concentrate is MGK, they can be reached at 800-645-6466 for more information on how to remove their product from surfaces.

    Q
How is Sector vs. Riptide for clogged nozzles with automatic misting systems?
Is one worse than the other in causing clogged nozzles in automatic misting systems?
    A

We have not heard complaints about either Sector Misting Concentrate nor Riptide clogging nozzles on misting systems when used as directed.  Either would be a good option with the Sector having slightly longer repellancy in the area of 2-3 days vs 1-2 with Riptide.

    Q
How effective is the residual of Sector Misting Concentrate?
My installer for my mister recommended spraying a few times, 30-15 minutes apart, each evening at dusk/dawn. The chemical he sold me was not Sector. With the residual affect of Sector do I still set the spraying interval the same? Also Sector vs Vector Ban Plus? Vector is a bit cheaper, would you recommend one over the other?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate does not leave any type of residual.  It is a fogging concentrate that only kills what is out in the open at the time it is applied.  It may make an area slightly repellent for 1-3 days but will not kill anything.  Vector Ban has the same active ingredient as Sector so the same applies.

    Q
What one thing would you suggest mixing with Sector to get a better mosquito control an IGR, or mix a half rate Bifen IT and half rate Sector to get a better residual control?
I know I would need to check the mix compatibility of Bifen ND Sector first. Or as I said just an IGR with Sector?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate works good on mosquitoes for a quick knockdown and does have a residual. With the active ingredients of 10% Permethrin and 10% PBO, it is most commonly usd in misting systems. Sector has 2 of the 3 products we recommend for mosquito control and works great for enclosed areas such as barns and stables.

For outside treatement in a yard, camping area, etc. the combination of Bifen IT, Exponent and Nyguard IGR will be more effective becasue you are using all 3 modes of action. Along with the synergist, Exponent for a fast knockdown(24hrs), you have the 30 day residual of Bifen IT and the IGR to halt the development of juvenile stages of mosquitoes.

    Q
Is there something I can use to kill moths on my porch that will last longer than Sector?
    A

A product like Sector is just a contact kill insecticide; once the application has dried, the product is done working. You can use a residual insecticide concentrate such as Cyzmic CS Insecticide for more residual insect control. You may also want to conside turning off lights at night or switching exterior bulbs from white to yellow to attract fewer flying insects at night.

    Q
Will Sector Misting Concentrate kill boring bees?
    A

Sector Misting Concentrate is labeled for bees and other flying insects, however it is not labled for carpenter bees if that's what you mean by boring bees.  If you are looking for something to use for carpenter bees we would recommend using something like Cyzmic CS or Demon Max as a spray or Tempo 1% dust

    A

Sector Misting Concentrate can be applied with a gas powered sprayer, but not a pump sprayer.  However, you could use a product like Martins Permethrin 10% or DeltaGard Insecticide which both can be used in pump sprayers and around cattle.
