  • Asked by Diana from Medina

    Q
Will Talstar P kill root Aphids?
I have root Aphids in my vegetable garden, I want to know If I can saturate the soil after the growing season to kill the Aphids for next spring.
    A

Talstar P is not labeled for use to control root aphids or for use in a vegetable garden. Pyganic Gardening or Azera Gardening can be used in and around vegetable gardens for aphids and a wide variety of other insects. Keep in mind that this is a persistant pest often brought into an area by infested plants or soils, so be sure that you are checking transpants and using clean soils in your garden.

  • Asked by Cathy from Hayden, Al
    10/23/2014
    Q
Looking for something to kill spiders, roaches, ants, etc?
Need something to spray the outside perimeter of a building. Also need something safe to spray in an area where there are children (church nursery).
    A

Talstar P is a great general purpose insecticide that is labeled for over 75 types of insects that can be used indoors and outdoors. Talstar P has a long residual, so it keeps on killing pests for over three months after you've sprayed it. Plus, Talstar P is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and won't break down easily with rainfall.

Talstar P leaves a 30 day residual outside and a 90 day residual inside. Mix 1oz of Talstar P per gallon of water in a hand pump sprayer for best application.

Inside the building, apply as a coarse, low pressure, crack and crevice or spot spray to areas where pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas.

Outside the home or building, general application for crawling pests - Mix 0.5 or 1 oz. of Talstar P in one gallon of water and apply to the outside foundation of the building, approx. 3 feet up the side of the house and 2 feet out from the building. Also spray entry points into the home such as around windows, pipes, doorways, etc. For general preventative treatment, apply Talstar P once every 3 months.

    Q
I want to do my own pest control. What should I buy?
I live in Gilbert, Arizona. We get spiders, ear wig, roaches....
    A

The best general pest control can depend on what region you are located in. One of the all time favorite general pest control products is Talstar P. Talstar has a long residual, so it keeps on killing pests for over three months after you've sprayed it. Plus, Talstar One is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and won't break down easily with rainfall. Also for roaches, you want to use a bait like Maxforce Impact, Up in areas  you are not spraying Talstar. Please see the roach bait placement guide, as well.

  • Asked by R from Indianapolis, In
    03/05/2015
    Q
Is Talstar as safe as the pyrethrum products claim to be?
Would like to use safer products now that we have kiddos.
    A
Talstar P can be safely used around pets and children as long as you follow the label instructions; all pets and children need to be out of the area while application is being made and they can return as soon as the application is dry. Talstar is none irratating if it touches the skin, but is not recommended to be around until it has dried. Talstar will not harm babies if the product label is followed. Unless other wise noted, the pesticides on our website are safe to use in a home with children. As with any product, it is important to follow the label instructions and precautions to ensure safety. Talstar P is non-irritating, non-staining and contains no odorous or plant-damaging solvents. It's even labeled for food-handling area.

  • Asked by Rox from Seattle,wa

    Q
Does Talstar kill fleas, bedbugs, and cockroach eggs?
    A
Talstar P is labeled for fleas, bedbugs, and roaches. However, Talstar P will not kill roach eggs and should only be used outdoors for fleas, NOT indoor flea control. Fleas, bedbugs, and roaches are all hard to control insects and we would recommend a targeted treatment plan to ensure complete erradication. Please email us or give us a call at 866-581-7378 so that we may get additional information regarding your circumstances and make a proper, educated recommendation regarding products and treatments. We hope to hear from you soon!

I've been using Talstar-P for outdoor perimeter and a bit of indoor pest control and would like to use something stronger and longer acting as we're about to enter rainy and buggy season in Florida. Thanks!
    A
Sure we would recommend to switch it up to Suspend Polyzone.  Suspend Polyzone features a proprietary polymer layer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. This controlled release formulation, which resists erosion, ensures your treatment will continue to control targeted pests for up to 90 days outdoors

  • Asked by Nick from Gainesville, Mo
    05/27/2015
    Q
Can Talstar P be used with an IGR?
Wooded 5 acre lawn surrounded by cattle ranch. Ticks and fleas major issue. Have both dogs and cats who roam - ie bring the beasties home. Animals treated heavily, what to do for yard? need good residual and rain resistance.
    A
Talstar P can be applied with an IGR (insect growth regulator). It is safe for pets as long as they remain out of the area during treatment and return only when the surfaces have dried completely. It should not be applied where there are grazing animals such as cattle. It is labeled for ticks and fleas outside and offers a 30 day outdoor residual.
For best results, allow 24 hours after outdoor application before expected rainfall.

  • Asked by Jesse from Austin Tx
    06/18/2015
    Q
How much Talstar P should I put in a 50 gal sprayer?
I'v got fleas at my house so I bought a rig for my Big Yard.
    A
When treating your yard for fleas with Talstar P you can use anywhere between 0.5 ounces and 1 oz per gallon of water. So anywhere between 25 and 50 ounces to your 50 gallon sprayer. Keep in mind when treating for fleas, its important to use an IGR (insect birth control) to help stop the reproductive cycle. If you only use a portion of the yard closest to the home you could just mix the IGR with the Talstar and spray them both in those areas that you frequent the most or the pets frequent. We would recommend NyGuard IGR to mix in your tank.

  • Asked by Nikki from Santa Fe Nm
    07/08/2015
    Q
Is the residual harmful to young children and pets if it gets re-wet?
For example; a toddler spilles milk on the floor where the Talstar was treated or the dog spilled water everywhere on the floor including the baseboards where the Talstar was sprayed and dried.

Talstar will not be reconstituted and become dangerous if it gets wet. Talstar can be taken off of a surface if gets gets washed up with soap and water and would need to be reapplied. Please contact us at 1-866-581-7378 for and further information.
