    Q
What's the mixing ratio of Talstar P when using a lawn sprayer that's connected to a garden hose?
I know it's 1 oz per gallon in a pump sprayer.
    A

The rate for Talstar P in a hose end sprayer would be the same as if you were using in a pump sprayer, 0.5 to 1 fl oz (1 - 2 tbsp) per gallon of water for low volume applications, or 0.5 -1.0 fl. oz. per 1,000 square feet in a higher volume of water.

    Q
What is the distance allowed to spray Talstar P without harming the edible fruits and veggies?
Lawn needs care of bugs, but I have two fruit trees that are 3 to 4 feet away from the edge of the lawn. Is it safe to use? My concern is the roots of the trees can absorb the toxin.
    A

It is recommended that Talstar P not be used within 3 feet or outside the drip zone of edibles, which ever one applies.

  • Asked by Shane from Etna, Oh

    Q
We have a micro pig that eats grass is it safe to use Talstar Pro/Demon Max with pig
In the past I have typically treated our home with Talstar Pro/ Demon Max if the pig eats grass treated by the product will it harm him
    A

Neither the Talstar P or Demon Max are labeled to be used where animals would graze so we would not recommend applying it areas the micro pig could eat.  Instead we would recommend using something like Essentria All Purpose which is an all natural product that is OMRI approved and labeled for pastures and rangeland.

Yes, you can disperse Talstar P and NyGuard IGR in a backpack sprayer and/or a mist blower. You will mix 1 oz of Talstar P to 3ml of NyGuard IGR per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft.

  • Asked by Leon from Forbes, Mn

    Q
Is there a Talstar available to licensed applicator?
I am a new licensed applicator and best i can tell the general public can buy the same product, where is my advantage here? Do you have a rup they CAN NOT buy without a license! Please answer privately Thank you
    A

There are various products that are not available to the general public depending on where they live. We are unsure of exactly what you are asking. These products can be purchased by homeowners, however, the advantage that you have over a homeowner is that they can spray only their home. You can legally spray for profit.

    Q
Can Talstar P be mixed with dormant oil and applied simultaneously when temps are below 85?
    A

Yes, you can mix the two products together. We would recommend mixing a small tank mixture with Talstar P and dormant oil to make sure there is no clumping between the two products.

  • Asked by Sharonne from Willis, Texas
    06/25/2016
    Q
    Will Talstar kill camel crickets?
    A

Talstar P will kill camel crickets. Apply Talstar P as a crack and crevice or spot spray to areas where pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Do not use as a space spray. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices. We recommend treating the outside perimeter to help stop insect pests from coming indoors to start with. Apply Talstar P to a band of soil and vegetation 6 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the structure. Also, treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2 to 3 feet.

  • Asked by John from Tucson, Az
    07/03/2016
    Q
Would the effectiveness of Termidor be effected in any way if I use Talstar as a perimeter treatment around the exterior of the home?
If a home has been treated with Termidor for termites (a non-repellent termiticide), would it be an issue to do a perimeter treatment (3 feet up and out) with Talstar P (a repellent termiticide)?
    A

No, using Talstar as a perimeter spray 3ft up and 3ft out from the home will not affect the Termidor SC as long as the Termidor has had time to bond to the soil after 24 hours. Mix Talstar at 1oz per gallon of water and apply over 1,000 sq ft.

  • Asked by Joe from Bixby, Ok

    Q
How to treat a walk in attic space with Talstar P and Delta Dust?
I am planning to treat for brown recluse in our house. I purchased Talstar P and Delta Dust. I think I understand the treatment procedure in the main living space but want to know how/where to treat my walk in attic space.
    A

You can use Talstar P in your attic in all of the cracks and crevices for insect control. If you have a lot of exposed electrical elements though you would want to just use the Delta Dust in these areas as it will last a lot longer than liquid insecticides and they can be used around the electrical elements without worry of shock or shorting out the device.

Is Talstar P good for brown dog ticks?
Does this product work well for brown dog tick infestations inside and outside? How often should it be applied?
    A

Talstar P is labeled for ticks, however we would recommend you use our Outdoor/Indoor Flea and Tick Kit for the issue that you are asking about. This kit would include everything that is needed to treat both indoors and outdoors for a ticks infestation.

Please see out Treatment Guide for more information on how to get rid of ticks.

    Q
Will Talstar P help get rid of or control lizards?
    A

We can't sale anything to kill lizards. We can recommend to treat the bugs they are preying on. Talstar P will kill the insects they are preying on and thus the lizards should go elsewhere for food.

    Q
Should I alternate Talstar One with another pesticide to prevent resistance?
I have used Talstar One plus Archer IGR on my yard for two summers to prevent mosquitoes and they've worked very well. I read that mosquitoes can develop resistance to bifethtin. Should I rotate with another pesticide, and if so, how often and which one do you recommend?
    A

Yes, rotating insecticides is a good idea to prevent resistance however this normally takes years to happen. Some customer rotate every year or when they start to notice the product may not be working as well as it did in the beginning. It would not hurt to use another active ingredient for your next treatment, a great alternative to Talstar is Suspend SC. Mix 1.5oz Suspend SC with 1 gallon of water along with the Archer IGR for Mosquito control

  • Asked by David from Haslet, Texas

    Q
What is the best insecticide concentrate for North Texas?
Get a lot of centipedes, looks like worms, and pill bugs. I live in Dallas Fort worth Texas. What would be the best Insecticide concentrate for my home? Talstar I was thinking might be good.
    A

Talstar P is a great choice for general pest control. Keep in mind that earthworms are beneficial and will not be listed on any insecticide labels. Another excellent option for a climate with very hot summers would be Suspend Polyzone, which is encapsulated in a polymer layer for better longevity in heat and sunlight. You may also want to take a few moments to review our General Pest Prevention Guide for more tips and information.

  • Asked by Mark from Charleston, Sc

    Q
When to apply mole cricket control?
I believe I have an issue with mole crickets. There are smaller (about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch wide) tunnels running through an area that is lower than the rest of the yard, and has lots of dead grass. I have been reading that one wants to apply a mole cricket treatment to kill the nymphs/younger mole crickets, but I'm not sure about timing. The weather in my area is in the south, and it varies a tremendous amount. 75 at the highest, and 40 or so at night. Any tips? What would you guys suggest? Should I use Talstar?
    A

Talstar would be a great product to use for mole crickets and gives complete instructions on the product label for timing on the different stages though you should contact your local cooperative extension office to find out the best time to start spraying in your region.

  • Asked by Harry from Deland, Fl
    03/13/2017
    Q
How can I get rid of fungus gnats in my yard?
    A

Fungus gnats are usually found breeding in landscaped areas/lawns that are over-watered. You should be careful to let area dry out completely, which will kill any larvae in the soil.  You could also treat the area with something like Talstar P, which has great residual protection and also can be used for a wide variety of crawling pests and lawn and ornamental pests outside.  Gnats that land on the treated areas will be eliminated. Talstar P will not repel the gnats from the area nor will it kill the gnats that do not land on the treated areas.  It is best to resolve the issues that are causing water to build in areas and provide a breeding site for them.
