Gnat is a very general term used to describe a wide variety of small flying pests including fruit flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, no-see-ums, mosquitoes, etc. You can use a general insecticide like Talstar P on the outside of your home on all the window and door frames and on window screens to try and prevent pests from entering your home. We cannot give more specific information or treatment products unless we know exactly what species of pest you are dealing with so that we can narrow down where the problem is coming from and address it directly.
Talstar P should be mixed at 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. We have never experienced an application taking 3 hours on a 100 X 10 or 50 X 20 area using a mist blower. Yes, rotating insecticides is a good idea to prevent resistance however this normally takes years to happen. Some customer rotate every year or when they start to notice the product may not be working as well as it did in the beginning. It would not hurt to use another active ingredient for your next treatment, a great alternative to Talstar is Suspend SC. Mix 1.5oz Suspend SC with 1 gallon of water along with the Archer IGR for Mosquito control
Yes, Talstar P Professional Insecticide will kill cicada killers. We also recommennd to dust in their holes with Delta Dust.
Yes, Talstar P will control/kill milipedes in and around your yard and lawn.
Talstar P is labeled for beetles and is safe for use on lilies, as well as other ornamentals. The residual is 30 days outdoors. It is recommended that you spray when pollinators are not active, either in the early morning or late evening. The mixing rate is 1 fl oz per gallon of water.
You should not repeat the treatment you have already made indoors using Talstar P. You can use Talstar P for flea control outdoors at a rate of 1 oz per 1000 sq ft around turf and ornamentals. Indoors, you can use a steamer or carpet cleaner to break down some of the residual application. At least 14 days after that application, we recommend retreating with a product for indoor flea treatment such as PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol. Be sure to vacuum well before spraying and then every day or every other day after. Please refer to our online Flea Treatment Guide for more tips on eradicating this pest.

Talstar P is not labeled for general mites, though mange mites typically are on livestock or pets. For mange mites, we recommend Tengard SFR which could be used to treat the ground outside, as well as inside the home over a certain area. Tengard SFR can also be used on a dogs and other livestock (do not use on felines) to kill mites without harming the animal.
Talstar is labeled for silverfish and will do a great job helping to eliminate them. Be sure to spray in all of the cracks and crevices where silverfish are known to harbor for best results. You may want to take a look at our Silverfish Control Guide for more information.
You can spray Taslstar behind appliances, along baseboards, but not around the wall sockets. We suggest you use an insecticide dust such as Cimexa Dust. Cimexa Dust will last up to 10 years when applied to undisturbed areas like wall voids.
Talstar P is labeled to treat for termites and lasts for about 5 years in the ground when trenching. A better option for subterranean termites would be non-repellents like Termidor SC or Taurus SC. Termidor and Taurus will last up to 10 years in the soil. Non-repellents work slower but are much more effective when treating a termite colony as they are able to be transferred through the entire colony therefore eventually eliminating the colony.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is not labeled for grub worms and most likely will not provide satisfactory results when used to control them. We do have several products that are specifically labeled for grub worms on our website: Grub Worm Control. We also recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and inquire about the best time to start treatments for grubs in your region. In many parts of the country the grubs are already matured and they are emerging as adult beetles.
