Taurus SC Termiticide Insecticide with 9.1% Fipronil provides best-in-class control of termites, ants and a wide variety of other insect pests including roaches, spiders, centipedes and many more. This professional termiticide is labeled to treat for subterranean termites, arborel termites, drywood termites, and dampwood termites. Taurus SC is a non-repellent insecticide that is undetectable to target pests. This allows the pests to touch, ingest, and spread the insecticide throughout their entire colony. Taurus SC will eliminate termite colonies in less than 90 days on average, and ant infestations can be controlled in just a few weeks.
Taurus SC is NOT labeled for Fire Ants.
Please follow all label directions carefully before use.

Taurus SC Termiticide contains the non-repellent active ingredient the Fipronil. Fipronil belongs to the phenylpyrazole family of insecticides, acting primarily as a GABA inhibitor, attacking the central nervous system of target pests. Fipronil is extremely effective, yet it works slowly enough on target insect pests to take advantage of the natural food-sharing habits of social insects, particularly termites and ants. This means that the fipronil in Taurus SC spreads throughout the entire colony, killing not just those insects that come in contact with the direct spray or residual, but all the others they contact, resulting in colony elimination.
Subterranean termites, ants, cockroaches, occasional perimeter invaders
PESTS CONTROLLED: Ants (acrobat, Argentine, big-headed, carpenter, crazy, odorous, pavement, pharaoh, thief), Asian lady beetles, darkling beetles, Australian cockroaches, Oriental cockroaches, smoky brown cockroaches, Black widow spiders, brown recluse spiders, cellar spiders, hobo spiders, Box-elder bugs, Pill bugs, Brown and dog ticks, Centipedes, Cluster flies, European earwigs, House crickets, Millipedes, Paper wasps (NOT a knockdown agent), Silverfish, Yellow jackets, Subterranean termites (including Reticulitermes, Zootermopsis, Heterotermes, Coptotermes)
Taurus SC is a generic version of the termiticide most widely used by professional pest control companies. Taurus SC is designed for the prevention and treatment of termite infestations, and it can be applied either pre-construction or post-construction. Taurus SC is also labeled for the outdoor perimeter control of many common invaders, most effectively for ants. Because of its efficacy and longevity, termite treatments with Taurus SC may last up to 10 years, and outdoor perimeter treatments only need to be applied twice per year. Taurus SC may also be used in structural wall voids to treat active subterranean termite and ant infestations. Taurus SC is not for general indoor use.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Fipronil 9.1%
Always read the product label completely before use.
The main use for Taurus SC is for protection against subterranean termite infestations. To accomplish this, an outside barrier treatment is made in the ground around the foundation of the home that will protect against termites for up to 10 years or more.
First, you will need to dig a 6 inches deep x 6 inches wide trench around the outside foundation wall of the home. Next, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply at a rate of 4 mixed gallons per every 10 lineal feet of trench. It is best to use a 5 gallon bucket and mark off the 4 gallon line, then mix 4 gallons of Taurus SC at a time and pour it in the trench. Allow the solution to soak into the soil and then replace the back-fill, making sure that the back-fill is soaked with Taurus SC as well. When you are done, you should have one contiguous in-ground barrier of Taurus SC all the way around the home.
Treating across slabs of concrete touching the house (such as a back patio or front porch) can be accomplished by using a hammer drill with a 1/2-inch drill bit. Holes are drilled through the concrete approximately 3-4 inches out from the house and every 12 inches across the concrete slab. Please see the product label for more information.
For more information please see the article: How to do a Termite Treatment.
Each 20 oz. bottle of concentrate yields 25 gallons of finished solution. Each 78 oz. bottle of concentrate yields 97 gallons of finished solution.
Outside surfaces and along foundation of Residential, institutional, commercial and industrial buildings and utility enclosures; wall voids of listed structures; NOT for indoor use; for pre-construction and post-construction treatment for termites, including concrete structures such as patios, porches, sidewalks and foundation slabs; concrete slab (including monolithic, floating and supported concrete slabs) on ground or in basements; hollow block foundations or voids in masonry; structures with French drains and sump pumps; basement structures; crawl spaces; around bath traps and shower drains; posts, poles, and wood landscape ornamentation.
Taurus SC is not for Indoor use. The only permitted use indoors is for active ant or termite infestations in wall voids only.
Treating Live Termite Infestations above ground:
To control Aerial termite colonies or Drywood Termites, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply to infested wooden members or voids. To treat inaccessible areas (for example, if the termite infestation is behind dry wall), drill and inject Taurus SC into the damaged wood of void spaces with a crack and crevice injector. Foam applications can also be made into void spaces.
Termite Control – See general directions above. See our article How to Do a Termite Treatment for more details.
For outdoor control of Ants and other perimeter pests, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home. Also spray around any exterior openings where pests may enter such as doors (don't spray near door handles), windows, pipes, cracks, vents, holes, etc. Make sure to treat the joint where exterior siding (wood, vinyl, aluminum or other similar materials) meets the cement, brick or block foundation. Treat anywhere electrical, cable or telephone wires enter the house. This application should be made only twice per year, in the Spring and Fall. Taurus SC works well enough that only 2 applications per year are needed for effective control.
Also be careful to prune away vegetation including shrubs and tree branches that may be touching the side of the house. This will keep pests from using shrubs and tree branches to bypass the protective barrier you sprayed.

Excellent product
By Tim on 11/07/2011
This product is very handy to use with the squeezable pre-measured dispenser with separate cap. It allows the user to measure small amounts to apply in tight spaces when a watering can is used and only one or two gallons are needed at a time. Complete instructions are attached to the bottle so you always have them handy for reference. The same stuff the professionals use at a fraction of the cost!

Taurus SC
By Wally on 06/12/2012
Taurus is a non-repelling insecticide. Following the directions for termite treatment I trenched at the perimeter of my home, sprayed and put the dirt back in. The product works great. It has been two years since I treated my property. So far no signs of harm to good insects because my flowering trees and plants are pollinating just fine. I have recommended this product to my homeowner's association.

Almost like magic.
By Mike on 07/28/2012
This stuff is incredible. When I first received it I put it away and thought I wouldn't need it for awhile. The sweet ants were no longer coming into the house, even though they were still plentiful on my paver block patios. Then, larger ants started coming in. I laid out a blockade of Tero poison and that seemed to keep them from going any farther than by the window. I then proceeded to mix up the Taurus and at 7:00 a.m. I sprayed it around the perimeter of both the rear and front patios. At noon, I read the online instructions and saw that I was supposed to also spray where the siding meets the house and around where wiring and pipes come into the house. I mixed up another gallon and sprayed some more. At 7:00 that evening, I could find just 1 ant on my patios. The next day, I spotted just 2 in the morning. By early evening I couldn't find any. I had a hard time believing it could work that fast. I then checked at the end of my driveway, where I didn't spray of course, and there I found plenty of ants. Yesterday, about 1 1/2 weeks after i sprayed, I saw a couple dozen sweet ants on the rear patio. I was worried I might have to spray again. However, this morning I was able to find just one lonely ant remaining. I have a friend that is having the same problem. Guess what I recommended? All in all, this is a great company to work with. They respond to emails within hours, and phone service, when you can get thru, is also excellent. They really seem to know their stuff. I can't thank them enough. I believe my ant problems are over. Finally.

It works
By John on 08/12/2012
I used it for a perimeter treatment for ants. I tried several insecticides prior and while they kept the ants away for a while they always came back. One application of this and I haven't seen an ant in weeks. It works great. Follow the directions and you will be good to go.

as advertised
By Joe on 08/28/2012
I used for carpenter and pavement ants that had set up trails and nests into my home. Imediately knocked out the carpenter ants and within a few days knocked out the pavement ant nests. Also killed tons of spiders and earwigs that I didn't know were living under the first row of siding. No smell, no stain, no stickiness, you can't even tell where you've applied this stuff. I love to watch the ants walk through it knowing that they are going to be helping me kill the colony by taking back the poison. Fast shipping. Good directions.

south florida bugs (we got lots!!)
By Don on 09/10/2012
$54.00 may sound expensive for a bug killer; but that breaks down to only $2.16 per gallon, and this product isn't available at HD or Lowes at ANY price!! I did a perimiter treatmeant around my girlfriend's house and a long running whitefoot ant problem is now history!! i also drenched some fire ant mounds, and they're also toast!! The chemical cost was only about two bucks for the whole treatment... i hat to think what an exterminator would've charged!! just remember to let this stuff do it's job.. refrainn from using any kind of knock down chemical.. the bugs have to live long enough to bring this stuff home to their nests to kill the residents....

Amazing kill speed and rate
By Alex on 09/13/2012
I bought this to hopefully eliminate a carpenter ant infestation in the eaves of my house, the ants were walking 250ft along my new chainlink fence, climbing across my firebush bushes and then up the wall into the eaves, nothing seemed to work, so i bought taurus and some delta dust with a duster. the day it arrived there was another ant infestation coming from under my deck and getting under a slab by my back door, some were getting into the house, these werent carpenter ants. I sprayed the diluted product around my deck and also around the perimeter of the house, i also sprayed the fence and up the wall and around the eaves. the next morning there were literally thousands of dead ants on my back door step, it looked like a balnket of old rust!!, WOW! is all i can say, all the carpenter ants are gone too!, i havent needed to dust at all, but i will as a precaution. this product is the same as termidor but cheaper, worth every penny! i also bought some ant bait traps and plan to make my own borax, sugar, peanut butter solution if i see ants in the house. outside right now its eerily absent of any kind of bugs! I used 1.5 gallons of diluted product for the whole perimeter of my 2050sq ft house, 1ft up the walls, 1ft out, i also removed the firebush from around the house completely to eradicate ant bridges, i now just have mulch and some nice purple bedding plants set away from the walls, i sprayed after putting the mulch down. I really am quite staggered by the effectiveness of the taurus sc, i was sick and tired of paying $10-$15 a month for products that just didnt work at all. BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE ANTS!!

You note that Termidor only allows 20oz bottles to be sold to DIYers; does the generic Taurus have any limitations on sales?
After digging the trench and treating the whole house for termites can i use crushed rock/gravel foe the backfill? For ease of future treatments instead of digging the trench again in 5-10 years couldn't we just pour through the gravel?
