    Q
Can Taurus SC be poured over stone around the house so that is seeps through to the soil underneath? Would this treatment be effective?
    A

If using Taurus SC Termiticide for Subterranean Termite trench applications, you must dig a 6 in x 6 in trench direclty against the foundation of the home per the product label. If there are landscape stones, gravel, barriers, etc that are in the path of the trench and these are not able to be removed to dig a continuous trench, we would recommend digging the trench up to the stone in your case and then continue on the other side. Pour the 4 gallons of mixed solution (3.2 fl oz Taurus SC with 4 gallons of water) every 10 linear feet and if able, uses a steel rod to prob under the stone as best as you can on both sides so the mixed solution can leach under the stone.
If using Taurus SC Termiticide for exterior perimeter treatment of carpenter ants, roaches, spiders, etc, mix 0.8fl oz per gallon of water. Spray 1ft up and 1ft out from the foundation, around windows, doors, under the eaves of the roof, etc. Do not spray landcape beds, ornamentals, bushes, shrubs, etc.

    Q
Does Taurus SC Termiticide work well if sprayed in entire yard for termite control?
My termites are in the tree roots in my yard, so I think spraying the entire yard is the way to go? Let me know what you suggest.
    A

No, Taurus SC is not labeled to be broadcast sprayed over an entire yard nor sprayer around tree roots for any reason.   For trees it can only be used to directly spot treat the nest in the tree itself by drilling into the active gallery and injecting.

    Q
My unfinished crawlspace is unfinished, 34 inches high and 1900 sqr feet. Can I spray Taurus SC?
The house has had termites before. I still need to finish and seal the crawlspace but have not so far. Trees about 10 ft away have been found with termites. I will put in a trenched barrier with Termidor this weekend.
    A

If you are treating for Subterranean termites, for best results, you would actually be able to trench around the inside perimeter of the crawl space. Yes, you can spray as long as you are following the instructions on the product label for general pests, but for subterranean termites specifically, they come from the ground usually within the top 6 inches of soil. Please take a moment to review our Subterranean Termite Treatment Guide for more information and helpful tips on creating a successful treatment plan and eradicating this pest.

    Q
How to apply if I can not dig a trench around my house to create a barrier?
I live in South Florida and have rocks around my whole house. The rocks / pebbles are 2 feet from wall of house and 3 to 4 inches deep. I also read that I need to make enough formula to go down 3 feet. Since the soil is sandy down here, can I still use Taurus to create the barrier without dig a trench, which would cause me more of a headache then it may be worth. If I can and the whole footage is 194 feet around the whole house, how many ounces do I need?
    A
Taurus SC Termiticide is a great product for protecting the foundation of the structure from subterranean termites, however if you have rock or a barrier in place to prevent this from being trenched as the label requires, your only option would be to use bait stations and dig individual holes in the rock for the stations to go into. Stations should be placed roughly every 10 feet apart around the home, so this would be less digging and moving of rock than the trenching application would require. We only recommend using bait stations when no termite activity is found in the home currently as they are not an effective means of pulling termites out of the home if they are already infesting it. The Advance Termite Bait Station Kit would be a great choice for you, and the 20 station kit would be perfect for your homes perimeter if you place them every 10 feet.

If you mix the solution just right they take the poison meat back to nest and kills entire nest . What is a good ratio?

Unfortunately, Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled to be used for yellow jacket bait. You can use Onslaught Insecticide with bait in traps for yellow jacket control, per the product label, you must follow the instructions on the traps you are using.

    Q
I have hundreds of ants in my pool everyday. I need something to kill the colony
I was recommended to use Taurus treatment which I did and helped completely and a few months later they are back and Taurus treatments are not doing anything to help now. I have hundreds of ants everyday floating in my pool. I do not see a direct path or any big piles anywhere in the yard. Need to kill the colony. What do you recommend
    A

Unfortunately, we cannot advise using any insecticides in a way the could potentially contaminate the swimming pool. Mostly because it could potentially be unsafe, but also because the products would not be effective if they are constantly wet or washed away from the pool water.

Taurus SC can be use outside around the foundation of homes/structures sprayed 1-2 feet up and out on the ground applied 2 - 4 times per year, and several baits and bait stations is what we would recommend. The Ants No More Bait Stations would be great to use around the pool area or landscaped areas because it protects the bait from water and weather while allowing you to use baits where you may have bad problems. These bait stations have 2 compartments so that you can use both a sweet gel/liquid (Maxforce Quantum) and a granule (Maxforce Complete) bait at the same time.

We would also recommend checking out our Ant Guide. It has tips on how to treat for ants around your home, indoors and outdoors.

    Q
Fine overspray on vegetables an issue with Taurus SC Termiticide?
I was doing a perimeter application and didn't notice until I was nearly done that there was some very fine overspray that may have reached my vegetable garden. Is this an issue? Do I need to discard anything that may have got this overspray (literally couldn't see the overspray until it was drifting in the sunlight).
    A
Taurus SC states to not use the product within one foot of the drip line of edible plants.

Anything edible that came in contact with Taurus SC Termiticide needs to be disposed of and nothing eaten from the sprayed plants for at least the season.

Please contact contact the manufacturer, Control Solutions for further advice. Their phone number is (630) 806-7062.

    Q
I have an annual cluster fly problem at the cabin. will Taurus SC keep the cluster flies out? Is it kill on contact
Is it better than Deltamethrin? i've had no luck w/ it/
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled to be used indoors nor is it a contact kill or repellent to keep insects away. If you have large populations of cluster flies flying around your home or a particular room, you can use a contact spray like 565 Plus XLO to knock them down.

Another really good residual insecticide labeled for cluster flies is on Onslaught.

    Q
Is drenching necessary with Taurus SC Termiticide?
    1) Doesn't rain effectively flush a stronger mixed proportion a good 6 inches into the soil? 2) What's recommended for driveway/patio/walk way areas right against the home?
    A

The active ingredient, Fipronil, in Taurus SC Termiticide is formulated to bind with the soil so it can provide a barrier treatment for approximately 10 years. When just pouring onto the surface it will not move through the soil but bind to that top layer.  We recommend allowing a 24 hour window without rain or irrigation, before or after the treatment, so it can bind with the soil. If you have a built-in garage, you will need to drill across the concrete driveway to complete your barrier treatment. Please read our Subterranean Termite Treatment Guide for more information and tips.
