Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for application to tree stumps. A better option would be Dominion 2L. You can drill into the stump and then inject Dominion 2L into the stump where the termites activity is using a hand pump sprayer. You can also choose to trench around the stump and apply the product to the trench. Dominion will help to eliminate the colony below ground as well as those in the stump.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for armyworms. A product like Talstar P Professional Insecticide would be a better option.
A 20 oz. bottle of Taurus SC Termiticide will cover approximately 300 square feet.
Taurus SC can be applied outdoors as a perimeter spray for ants or using the trenching method for subterranean termites. When applied as a perimeter spray for ant control, the prouct will last for up to 6 months. When applied using the trenching method for subterranean termites, the product will will last for up to 10 years in the soil.
Taurus SC Termiticide is labeled for house crickets but does not specify mole crickets. It could be used as a general spray application to the perimeter of the home outside only, 1 to 2 feet up the foundation and out on the ground.
The rate for Taurus SC Termiticide rate for preconstruction is 1 gallon of finished solution per 10 sq. ft. You will use 0.8 fl oz per gallon.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for aphids and should not be used on plants. Talstar is labeled for aphids and will be gentle on your oleander plant.
Taurus SC Termiticide can take a few days up to a week to kill a nest completely. It all depends on how long they spend on the treated area, how much contact they then have with others and how large the nest is.
If you want to use Taurus SC for termite protection, then the product has to be used in the soil where the termites are, not just sprayed on the surface like you would do for ants. If you have piers under your home, then you would trench around those piers with the same rate and trench as if you were treating around the foundation of a structure. You can read more in our Termite Prevention Guide here.
Taurus SC Termiticide would not harm toads and frogs in general when used as directed. You may notice a decline of them in the area if you are killing off their food source with it. Of course we would not recommend spraying them directly.
The shelf life is up to 5 years from the date of purchase if stored at room temperature.
Taurus SC does not require the use of an IGR but one can be used, like NyGuard IGR, if it's being applied for general pest control around the perimeter of your home.
Per EPA Regulations, Taurus SC cannot be applied more than 2 times a year at a rate of 0.8 oz per gallon of water or 4 times a year at a rate of 0.4 oz per gallon of water. Per the supplemental label, in California only the rate of 4 times/calendar year is approved and spraying only 6 inches up on the foundation and 6 inches out from the foundation.
When treating for carpenter ants, Taurus SC only needs to be sprayed around the perimeter of the home, one foot up on the foundation and one foot out.
Taurus SC Termiticide should NOT be applied indoors or in drains. Roaches can live in a septic tank, and can come up through the plumbing lines and make their way through the drains. However, you would not be able to use an insecticide in the actual drains. There is a product called Gentrol Aerosol IGR that is an insect growth regulator that stops the reproductive cycle in roaches that can be used in drains. Keep in mind, too, that roaches often just fall into or crawl in sinks because of the water there and do not actually come up through the drains. We recommend that you treat with our Roach Control Kit Rotation A. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article and videos on How to Get Rid of Roaches for more helpful information.
Taurus SC Termiticide can be used to spot treat active infestations of ants inside. You must find and directly treat the nest to do so as listed on the product label.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for chiggers nor can be used out in the lawn.
Bifen IT is labeled to control chiggers and will work great for this use when applied to areas where chiggers harbor. Treatments for chiggers should begin in May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge.
Taurus SC can only be applied directly to an active nest in a tree. As long as the tree is healthy, there is no need to do a preventative treatment.
The SDS of Taurus SC Termiticide states the following: Absorb small spills with sand, vermiculite or other inert absorbent. After removal, flush contaminated area thoroughly with water. Once the areas have dried completely, it’s safe for people and pets to return to treated areas.
Taurus SC Termiticide could only be used as an exterior treatment for roaches, earwigs and black widows and cannot be used indoors. It is not a knockdown kill. For 6 month residual, you will mix at 0.8 fl oz per gallon and for quarterly treatments, you will apply at 0.4 fl oz per gallon. Spray 1 ft to 2 ft up and 1 ft out around doors, windows, vents, pipes, foundation cracks, drilled holes or around any exterior openings where listed pests could enter the structure. Make sure to treat the joint where exterior siding (wood, vinyl, aluminium or other similar materials) meets the cement, brick or block foundation.
Indoors, we would suggest using Temprid FX along baseboards, floorboards, around windows, doors, behind appliances, under cabinets, behind toilets, in closets, etc.
