Termidor SC cannot be used in a fogging machine. It needs to be mixed with water and applied using a pump-up sprayer.
Termidor SC is applied in a 6-inch deep x 6-inch wide trench around the home for the prevention and treatment of termites. It would not be effective just sprayed on the surface as you would for general pests, because termites are inches below when foraging for food and do not crawl on the surface. If you have an active infestation of termites inside you will have to find and directly spot-treat the wood they are infesting and apply in a trench. Please review our prevent and treat guides for complete information on how to treat and prevent.
Termidor SC 20 oz. will make 25 Gallons of Solution and will Treat 60 Lineal Feet of Trenching
Yes, Termidor SC controls all types of termites including subterranean, Formosan, and drywood termites. For Termidor SC to work on Drywood termites, you have to drill directly into the piece of wood the termites are in and inject Termidor into the wood. Termidor does not penetrate into wood, so you have to inject it into the center. It has to touch the termites to work, but the benefit is that it only has to contact a few termites, and then they can pass it on to the rest of the colony.
For Drywood termite treatments on wood, we recommend applying a product called Bora-Care. This product is applied to raw wood and penetrates further than any other product.
Termidor SC is designed to either be sprayed into a wall void, around the foundation of a structure or applied directly in a trench. Please see the label for full application instructions.
Termidor is only labeled to be used inside when treating an active infestation but it does not penetrate into the wood. While we cannot comment on what a professional company is going to do, when treating for an active drywood termite infestation you must treat it directly.
When doing the trenching method, the Termidor SC will need to be applied around the entire perimeter and any supporting piers being sure to follow the product label instructions. If the piers/blocks are hollow, the product will also need to be injected into this area as well for best results.
Depending on the termites you can use Termidor foam or Taurus SC. If you would like to do a local treatment in the wood you can drill and inject the foam for control. Or if they are subterranean termites you can do a soil treatment and or a local spray for control. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Inside the crawl space you would need to trench around any foundation piers with Termidor SC or Taurus SC that have direct soil contact and support the home but for the actual foundation, trenching around the exterior perimeter of the foundation would be all that is required for the 10 year barrier protection against Subterranean Termites.
Please view our Subterranean Termite Guide for more information.
If you are trying to use Termidor SC indoor, yes it can be sprayed in a crevice where there is activity. If you are trying to use it outdoors, you would need to trench around the perimeter of the home. Keep in mind this product can only be used 1 foot up & 1 foot out from the home, it cannot be used out in the yard
Termidor SC no se puede utilizer en plantas comestibles. Muchas veces las termitas si solo se encuentran en la tierra cercan del arbol no le causan dano.
If you did not apply the correct amount of Termidor SC you would need to redo the entire trench and apply at the rate of 3.2 fl oz in 4 gallons per 10 lineal feet to get the correct application.
Unfortunately, this is not a common situation and therefore, we are unable to advice. We recommend contacting the emergency number on the safety data sheet (SDS), 1-800-424-9300 and we also recommend to contact the company that performed the treatment.
Best Regards,
Yes, liquid termiticides can be used to drill and inject into brick. Normally, horizontal drilling through brick is not needed unless you have a hollow block wall leading into a basement that you need to treat on the inside. You would follow the instructions laid out at the link below to our Termite Treatment Guide on how to do a trench around the foundation of your home with Termidor to get the 10 year protection from subterranean termites. Any areas you have concrete against the foundation (i.e., patio, sidewalk, driveway/garage) where you can't trench, you would need to drill a hole every 12 inches across and treat the soil below the concrete. These instructions are also laid out in the guide and product label of Termidor SC which you can find a link to under the Product Documents section on the Termidor SC page
Termidor SC can be applied around foundation right after trenching. You would not want to spray and than trench, since the trench should not be disturbed after it has been done.
No, Termidor SC is not labeled for this type of application.
When diluting Termidor SC with water, you will use 0.8 fluid ounces of the product per 1 gallon of water. There really is no math required for this. You will just measure 0.8 fluid ounces of the product using the measuring reservoir on the bottle. You will then pour that amount of product into 1 gallon of water. When using a 1 gallon sprayer, the idea is to fill the sprayer up half way (1/2 gallon), add the 0.8 ounces of Termidor SC, agitate (or shake up) the chemical, fill the sprayer to 1 gallon, and agitate the chemical again.
Our Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit has commercial-grade products in it. So it would definitely be a step above anything you could purchase in a big box store or most likely locally. This kit gives you everything needed to combat a carpenter ant infestation. We have a great Carpenter Ant Treatment Guide here with additional tips. Yes, it is ok to remove the almost-dead ants.
When using Termidor SC or Taurus SC for termite trench treatments, you will need to dig the 6 in x 6 in trench around any foundation, pillars, piers or support blocks that touch the soil and pour the 4 gallons of mixed solution every 10 linear feet (cumulative).
Please view our Subterranean Termite Treatment Guide for more information.
Termidor SC should only be applied a foot up and a foot out directly up against the structure for a topical treatment once every six months per the product label.
