    Q
Is The Anderson's 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide safe to use on newly plugged zoysia and bermuda grass in a residential lawn?
New lawn (2yrs old) supplied by builder (sod and seed) in rocky clay soil (just terrible - 50% weeds). Just plugged some areas with Myer Zoysia and Bimini Bermuda grass (mid/late Aug). I would like to put this down as my fall Fertilizer/Weed control.
    A

Andersons 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is not safe to use on your newly plugged turf. The turf must be well-established - usually mowed at least 2-3 times - before you can apply this or other pre-emergent herbicides to it.

    Q
Is Anderson's 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide better applied in late fall to work as a "winterizer" Weed n Feed or would an early spring application be better?
    A

Anderson's 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade for pre emergent control of weeds should be applied in late fall when soil temps drop to 70 degrees and continue to drop. In spring time, you want to apply pre emergents when soil temps reach around 50-55 degrees. For the fertilizer aspect, a soil a…

    Q
When to apply The Anderson's 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide in the fall in Huntsville?
    A

We recommend using a soil analysis test kit or taking a sample of your soil to your local cooperative extension so your soil can be analyzed to determine what nutrients your soil is lacking.
