Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide does not list list bougainvillea as one of the woody plants it will control however the product label mentions in the Susceptible Plants Section on page 3 that even the smallest amount of spray drift even if not visible could injury broadleaf plants.
Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer contains Triclopyr which is known to be effective on harder to kill vines when applied as a stump treatment. Glyphosate would be another option for stump treatments.
For stump treatments, start by cutting the vine branches off the trunk and discard branches onto a tarp. As you get closer to the ground, use loppers or a pruning saw to cut the trunk 2-3 inches above the ground. Apply Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer undiluted directly to the freshly cut stump using a paintbrush or sprayer. You will want to check the stump every few weeks for new growth and reapply the herbicide as necessary.
Please view the full product label for more information.
We do not recommend applying Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide or any herbicide when temperatures are below 55 degrees. Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide does work best on freshly cut stumps or fresh cuts in trees.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is not for general weed control at all and is only for woody plants and unwanted trees.
Hi-Yield Killzall 365 would be an alternative treamtment for long term control of broadleaf and grassy weeds in sidwalks, driveways, patios, along fence lines, gravel paths, etc. Do not apply within the drip line of any desirable plants or where runoff from rainfall woudl cause the applicaiton to drift.
This product will kill actively growing weeds and can prevent regrowth for up to 1 year (2 applications may be needed).

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is not labeled specifically for willow trees. We would recommend using Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer as it is labeled for Willows.
Per the product label, it is recommended to spray or paint the herbicide undiluted directly onto the fresh cut stump and freshly cut shoots that have grown would be the best approach we can recommend. If you have the ability to take a chain i saw to the top of the stump to cut off a fresh layer to expose the stump below it you may see faster results of the product. As long as you keep it on the stump and not get it on the surrounding vegetation you should be fine.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide should not be applied on residential or commercial lawns or near desirable trees and shrubs.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is not labeled for poison sumac or poison ivy which is closely related. If you have it on hand you can try, and hatch at the vines first for better results.
Otherwise, we would recommend Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate
If you are asking the difference in the bottles, Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is now produced under Corteva, so the label has been updated to reflect this. The product has not changed, just the appearance of the label from the red Dow label to the new green Corteva label.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide can affect any roots that are in the area it is applied to it will kill the tree roots of plants it is applied to and can affect any roots from other plants if they are in the area.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is best applied to fresh cut stumps, injected into the trees or a frill or girdle treatment as directed on the product label.
Tordon RTU Spray is not labeled for Walnut Trees therefore we cannot confirm if it would be effective in killing the tree. Black Walnut tree roots can spread out 50-80ft from the tree and are known for resprouting. The most recommended treatment is to cut the stump as low to the ground as possible and apply a product with the active ingredient Glyphosate directly to the freshly cut stump. Direct stump treatments is going to be your best option and will take several months and maybe longer since this tree is so old. Roundup QuickPRO has Diquat as 1 of the 2 ingredients works for a faster knockdown and absorbs throughout the root system better. Drilling into the stump is also sometimes done for the herbcide to absorb quicker into the tree.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is labeled to be used on woody plants and trees such as: ailanthus, alder, aspen, birch, cedar, cherry, dogwood, elm, firs, green ash, gum, hawthorn, hickory, hornbeam, maples, oaks, pecan, persimmon, serviceberry, sourwood and sweetbay. It may kill other stumps but we cannot say for sure it would work on those not listed on the label.
Please view instructions on the product label for targeted woody plants control by Tordon in either a Tree Injection Treatment, Frill or Girdle Treatment and Stump Treatments.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide needs to be applied to a fresh cut stump but is not labeled to control evergreens.
