Product Overview

Vendra II Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent herbicide formulated for control of a broad range of annual and perennial grassy weeds in turf and ornamental areas. Designed for use in residential and commercial landscapes, golf courses, nurseries, and vegetation management sites, Vendra II provides reliable control without impacting labeled desirable broadleaf plants when used as directed.

Applications can be made as a spot treatment or over-the-top many ornamentals, offering flexible options for both targeted treatments and larger-scale settings. Its systemic activity allows it to move from treated foliage into shoots, roots, rhizomes, and stolons, supporting thorough control of established difficult, grassy weeds.

Vendra II is an effective option for bermudagrass management in labelled desirable turf. When applied at labeled rates, it can be used to selectively remove bermudagrass from tall fescue and zoysiagrass lawns, making it a valuable tool for turf renovation and maintenance programs.

Vendra II is rainfast in as little as one hour and is recommended for use with a nonionic surfactant to optimize coverage and uptake for consistent results.

Full Application Instructions

Apply Vendra II as a post-emergent treatment to actively growing grass weeds using aerial, ground, or handheld equipment, including backpack sprayers, truck mounted sprayers, mechanically pressurized handguns, groundboom equipment, and airblast sprayers. Thorough coverage of weed foliage is required for best results.Apply in 1 to 2 gallons of finished spray per 1,000 sq ft with spray pressures of 40 to 60 psi at the nozzle tip; when foliage is dense, use 60 psi and at least 2 gallons per 1,000 sq ft for adequate coverage.

Always add a high quality nonionic surfactant containing at least 75% surface-active agent at 0.25 to 0.5% v/v, equal to 1/2 to 1 pint per 25 gallons of finished spray for ground sprays. Treat young, actively growing weeds before they exceed labeled growth stages. Do not mow, hand weed, or otherwise disturb treated weeds within 7 days before or 7 days after treatment. Rhizomes or stolons may be cut prior to treatment to encourage emergence and improve perennial grass control.Apply at the labeled rate for the weed species and growth stage, using the higher labeled rate where mixed populations or more difficult perennial grasses are present.

Where irrigation is used, best results may be obtained when applied within 7 days after irrigation.Rain or irrigation within 1 hour of application may reduce control.Do not apply through any irrigation system.

Do not exceed maximum label rates, and do not allow drift to non-target crops or areas.

For landscape and ornamental uses, apply 16 to 24 fl oz per acre, or 0.4 to 0.6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, in sufficient water with 0.25% nonionic surfactant; use only nonionic surfactant on ornamentals and do not use crop oil concentrate on ornamentals.

For noncrop, roadside, and industrial areas, apply 16 to 24 fl oz per acre with nonionic surfactant as directed; Vendra II may also be tank mixed with labeled Diquat Dibromide for desiccation plus systemic grassy weed control.

For desirable turfgrass uses in zoysia, fine fescue, and tall fescue, apply 3 to 6 fl oz per acre, or 0.07 to 0.14 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, with 0.25% v/v nonionic surfactant every 28 days while weeds are actively growing; higher rates may temporarily discolor desirable turf.

Fine fescue uses may be made at 8 to 16 fl oz per acre, or 0.18 to 0.37 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, with repeat applications after 28 days if needed.

For turf renovation bermudagrass control, apply 24 fl oz per acre, or 0.6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, with labeled glyphosate and make a second application after 3 to 4 weeks if needed.

For spot treatments and directed sprays in labeled landscape, noncrop, recreational, golf, and ornamental sod farm sites, mix Vendra II with nonionic surfactant in water and spray to thorough coverage without runoff.

Spot spray mixing directions are:
1 gal water = 0.75 fl oz Vendra II + 0.5 fl oz nonionic surfactant
10 gal water = 6.5 fl oz Vendra II + 3 fl oz surfactant
25 gal water = 0.5 qt Vendra II + 0.5 pt surfactant
50 gal water = 1 qt Vendra II + 1 pt surfactant

For orchardgrass and dallisgrass under the 2(ee) recommendation, apply 16 to 24 fl oz per acre with a nonionic surfactant to actively growing weeds and repeat after 28 days if needed.
