Will Permethrin SFR 36.8% kill flies or at least keep them away?

I'm trying to keep maggots away, will this help?

Permethrin SFR is a broad-spectrum insecticide that will flies and other common pests that contact the active ingredient or treated surfaces. Keep in mind that good fly control is dependent on locating and eliminating the breeding sites for these flies. Our Fly Treatment Guide has more tips on treating this pest.
