2DQ is a powerful three-way, post-emergent herbicide that provides control of 225 annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in both warm- and cool-season turfgrasses. 2DQ is labeled for use on ornamental turf lawns (residential, industrial, and institutional), parks, cemeteries, athletic fields, golf courses (fairways, aprons, tees, and roughs), and similar turf areas. Also for use on sod farms.
TURF, ORNAMENTAL: golf courses, cemeteries, parks, sports fields, turfgrass, lawns, and other grass areas; And TURF: grown for seed or sod
RESTRICTIONS FOR ORNAMENTAL TURF AND GRASS GROWN FOR SEED OR SOD
Ornamental Turf (Post-emergence):
Turf Grown for Seed/Sod (Post-emergence):
NON-CROPLAND: (fence rows, hedge rows, roadsides, ditches, rights-of-way, utility, power lines, railroads, airports, and industrial sites)
Applications to non-cropland areas are not applicable to treatment of commercial timber or other plants being grown for sale or other commercial use, for commercial seed production, or for research purposes.
Roadsides (including aprons and guardrails), rights-of-way and other similar noncrop areas: For control of broadleaf weeds, mix at a rate of 1 to 2 quarts per acre in enough water to wet all parts of the foliage. This may require 50 to 300 gallons of water per acre. This mixture will cover 43,560 square feet. Thoroughly saturate all weeds with spray mixture. Apply anytime between the time when the plants come into full leaf (spring) to when the plants begin to go dormant. Best results are obtained when the weeds are young and actively growing. Do not cut weeds until herbicide is translocated throughout the plant causing root death. For small broadleaf weeds, use the lower rate. Heavy, dense stands require the higher rate with the high water volume. For small (spot) applications with small tank sprayers, apply at the rate of 4 ounces per gallon of water and spray to thoroughly wet all foliage.
RESTRICTIONS FOR NON-CROPLAND
Annual/Perennial Control (Post-emergence):
For control of woody plants, apply to both stems and foliage anytime from the time foliage is fully matured to the time plants start to go dormant. All leaves, stems, and suckers must be completely wet to the ground for effective control. Regrowth may be anticipated on the more resistant species.
Woody Brush: Add 1 to 1.2 gallons of this product per acre to wet all parts of the brush foliage, stem, and bark. This may require up to 200 to 600 gallons of water per 43,560 square feet depending on the height and thickness of the brush. Mix thoroughly before spraying. The 1.2 gallon rate is applicable to spot treatment (an area less than 1000 square feet) applications only.

Fantastic product! Lawns are how I make my living, and this product just became my new #1 in broadleaf control and grassy weed surpression (not large crab). TIP: use the lowest label rate per 1,000 ft2 and adjust from there.

Good Stuff!

I've been using this on my fescue/rye/KBG lawn and it's been great. I've gotten my dandelions and plantain under control. I also added some triclopyr to the mix to attack wild violet. The 2DQ definitely had an effect on the crabgrass but that's going to be an ongoing battle for awhile. Overall very happy with this product. I did use a surfactant with it.

I don't see a dilution rate for smaller quantities of this. How much would be used to make 15 gallons of product?
The rate for 2DQ Herbicide is dependant on the type of turf you are applying to and is not per gallon of water but is per 1000 sq ft. For cool season grasses, use 0.75 - 1.1 ounces of product to 1-5 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. For warm season grasses, use 0.37-0.55 ounces of product to 1-5 gallons of water per 1000 square feet.
The amount of water used to apply 2DQ herbicide is not critical, but should be sufficient for uniform coverage of the target area. Calibrate by determining the volume of water required to treat 1,000 square feet. Use this calibration volume to determine the amount of water and Dimension herbicide needed to treat the target area (see the following calibration example). Note: Sprayer calibration (volume of spray needed to treat 1,000 square feet) will vary with each individual operator.
Steps in Calibration:
1. Mark an area of 1,000 square feet (i.e. 20 by 50 feet or 25 by 40 feet).
2. Place the sprayer on a level surface and add water noting the final level of water in the spray tank.
3. Spray the marked area with a sufficient volume of water to provide uniform coverage. Refill the sprayer to the same level as before measuring the amount of water added. The measured water added to the sprayer is the volume needed to cover 1,000 square feet.
4. Determine the application rate from the Recommendations section of the label.
5. To each volume of water used as measured in step 3, add the amount of herbicide as determined in step 4.

2DQ Herbicide may take up to 6 weeks to completely kill target weeds depending on what you are treating. You should start to see effects within 1-2 weeks though.

2DQ Herbicide can be used on dormant centipede and St. Augustine grass, which are the most common grass types in FL. This can also be used on bahia, bermuda, and zoysiagrass. Be sure to check the label with regards to how much you should use per gallon of water.
