You might want to soak longer in hotter water. If a small amount is inside without blocking or causing difficulty dispersing the product it should be fine. Please let us know if you need anything else or if this is not effective.

Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air, so there should not be any respiratory issues when applying Advion Roach Bait Gel. That said, if you have any health concerns, it is always recommended to consult your doctor before applying this or any other product.
While you could use both Advion Roach Bait Gel and Alpine at the same time it would be better to instead rotate between them every 3-4 months to prevent resistance build up to any one bait.
You can use an insecticide spray and a bait like Advion Roach Bait Gel in the same room at the same time, just not on the same surfaces. The rule of thumb is spray low (areas like baseboards, kick plates below cabinets, and under appliances) and bait high (in areas like inside cabinets and drawers and up higher near small appliances such as microwaves, toasters and coffee pots). Advion Roach Bait Gel could be used in a car, but we would recommend only applying it inside a bait plate station. Another option would be to use the Advion Roach Bait Arenas.
You would not want to bomb in areas that the Advion Roach Bait Gel would be applied or bomb after applying the Advion as this can contaminate the bait and make it less attractive.
Advion Roach Bait Gel should be kept away from extreme temperatures and used within a year from date of purchase. It will be applied once every two weeks (cleaning up the old bait placements previously applied).

The manufacturer of Advion Cockroach Gel Bait has recently changed how they mark the product with the release date. Per the manufacturer it does have a 5 year shelf life from this date.
Per the label: Advion Cockroach Gel Bait may also be applied as a spot or thin bead to pest entry sites such as along windows, doors, between construction elements, sewer areas, adjacent trees which harbor cockroaches, along walls, garbage holding areas, or suitable placement site acting as a cockroach harborage. Place baits in such a way as to reduce the potential of subsequent human contact. Inspect Advion Cockroach Gel Bait placements periodically and apply fresh bait as needed. A thorough inspection around a structure may reveal areas where cockroaches are gaining access. Attempts should be made to remove the access.
The active ingedient in Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is a non repellent that is slow acting. This allows roaches to feed on the bait, take bait back to the colony and transfer to other roaches. We would recommend not killing or disturbing roaches and allow them to continue their normal activity to ensure the bait is taken bait to colony and transfered. Any dead roaches can be removed.
There is no valid reason to mix bait gels. It will not increase effectivess. You can certainly alternate between Advion Cockroach Gel Bait and Maxforce Impact Roach Gel Bait. Yes, roaches can become resistant to Advion Roach Bait Gel (or any other roach bait gel) over time if the same active ingredient is continuously used.
