Yes, a roach bait gel like Advion can be applied if you are also using glue boards. We normally recommend that you use an insecticide spray along with an insect growth regulator (IGR) as well for roaches. You may want to take a look at our Roach Control Kits, which offer a combination of all of these products. You may also want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.
No, you do not have to continue using Advion Bait Gel if you are no longer seeing roach activity.
Yes Advion Roach Bait Gel would work be a great option! The active ingredient in Advion is Indoxacarb. It allows cockroaches to consume the bait and return to the harborage site to contaminate other cockroaches resulting in significant reduction in infestation levels. Each roach that comes in contact with bait can contaminate up to 40 other roaches by way of contact, feces, or the other roaches feeding on its poisoned carcass. This domino effect knocks out roach populations at an incredible rate.
Advion Roach Bait Gel contains food-grade attractants which can sour over time. If you have had the bait for longer than 1 year, we recommend that you purchase fresh bait.
We are not aware of any changes made to the Advion Roach Bait Gel by the manufacturer. It should be used within 1 year once the tube is opened or 2 years from the date of purchase.
According to the the Advion Roach Bait Gel MSDS: Potential Health Effects Based on animal testing, no biologically significant effects are expected from skin or eye contact or by ingestion.
We would recommend contacting your doctor for advice as it should only be used in areas inaccessible to pets and children to minimize exposure.
Yes a roach bait gel like Advion can be applied if you are also using an IGR like the Gentrol Point Source at the same time.
Advion Roach Bait Gel could be used in a car, but we would recommend only applying it inside a bait plate station. Another option would be to use the Advion Roach Bait Arenas.
The same Advion Roach Bait will control the little ones as they consume it. The babies are there because you now are having the next round of the colony emerge as the adults have all died out and the eggs have hatched, and the babies are coming out looking for food and water. Using an IGR (birth control for the insects) when treating for roaches is key as this stops the reproductive cycle and keeps them from molting and growing in number. Continue keeping things clean and dry and practicing good sanitation habits, use the bait gel either Advion or Maxforce as they both work equally well, and consider the use of an IGR or Insecticide or both like the Gentrol Complete which offers both in one can. Please refer to our Roach Treatment Guide for more information on treating this pest.
We would recommend placing the Advion Roach Bait Gel on a piece of plastic wrap or foil and placing it under your furniture (out of reach of children and pets). Since the roaches have already visited the couch it would be considered a hot spot area that needs to be treated as more roaches will likely visit the area even if no gel is applied there. You may do the same near small appliances. You cannot use the gel in electrical outlets. We highly recommend you take a moment to read our roach control guides to be sure you are following all of the protocols to get rid of the infestation from your home.
If you suspect that your dog licked the Advion Roach Bait Gel we would recommend you contact your vet or pet poison control immediately and provide them with the Safety Data Sheet for the product.
Advion Roach Bait gel should be safe to use around any pet as long as you keep the application out of reach of the pet. Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air where sensitive animals such as birds could run into respiratory issues. That being said, you should always refer to your veterinarian's advice.
Advion Roach Bait Gel is not labeled for human consumption. If you have injested any amount of the product, we recommend you contact your local poison control center or physician.
Advion Roach Bait Gel does contain food attractants so we do not suggest using it if you do not have an active roach infestation. However, we highly encourage you to use an IGR (insect growth regulator) such as Gentrol Point Source to prevent roaches from reproducing which will lessen the time it takes to gain complete control. We have a great guide here on How to Treat for Roaches that might be helpful as well.
Advion Roach Bait Gel is not labeled to eradicate ants. We do carry Advion Ant Bait Gel that will atrract the listed ants on the label that are currently attracted to a sweet-feeding bait. If they are foraging for a protein source, we highly recommend applying the Advance 375A granules in bait plate stations.
There is no need to use Advion Roach Bait Gel at the same time as Roach bait stations. That would be over application. Be sure to check out our Roach Guide.
We recommend that you contact your veterinarian if you believe your pet may have eaten Advion Roach Bait Gel.
The shelf life of Advion Roach Bait Gel is up to 5 years from the date of purchase if unopened and stored at room temperature. Old Advion Roach Bait Gel can be removed by scraping it up and then warm soap and water on the surfaces for any left over .Advion Roach Bait Gel can be used with the bait plate stations for easy clen up.
German Roaches are difficult to get rid of in a couple of months even if they have been there for awhile or not. If they have been consuming the Advion for a month that is great especially with you seeing dead ones. You are feeding them to kill each other through sharing not feeding them to reproduce. They do this on their own. You can incorporate an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol to disrupt the reproductive cycle and an insecticide that will offer a residual control such as Temprid FX. Please alternate your bait every 90 days. The next one that I would suggest you use for the next 90 days (replacing every 2wks) is Maxfore FC Magnum. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.
