Local store says Alligare Diuron 80 DF is safe to use in ponds. Is this true?
We have a pond that has no use, just fish want something to get rid of Cat tails/hydrilla. Im making it's safe to use if we just do sporatic treatments.

The pesticide should only be applied when the potential for drift to adjacent sensitive areas (e.g. residential areas, bodies of water, known habitat for threatened or endangered species, non-target crops) is minimal (e.g. when wind is blowing away from the sensitive areas)."

Instead, you may use a product such as Catt Plex to control Cattails in a pond as long as you are following the instructions on the product label.

The application rates range from 0.75 lbs per acre to 10lbs per acre for Alligare Diuron 80 DF depending on the weeds being targeted and the application site. You could use 5-10 lbs per acre for most applications, which breaks down to about 1.8 - 3.67 oz per 1000 sq ft.  You will usually want to use a minimum of 2-5 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft so that you are getting the active ingredient down into the soil if this is a bare area like a gravel drive. Can Alligare Diuron 80 DF be used as an aquatic herbicide. To rid a small pond of floating algae?
If it can be used to rid a pond of floating algae/scum at what rate. Can I apply as a dry granule. Directly on top of the scum or just into the water?

Alligare Diuron 80 DF may not be used in water for floating algae/scum. You need an algaecide such as Cutrine Plus or GreenClean Pro Algaecide.

For Replanting purposes, the product label states unless otherwise directed, do not replant treated areas to any crop within 2 years after last application as injury to subsequent crops may result.

For Ground Applications: The degree of control and duration of effect will vary with the amount of chemical applied, soil texture, rainfall, and other conditions.

The product label does advise that if weed control is unsatisfactory, it may be necessary to retreat problem areas using a product with a different mode of action.

Alligare Diuron 80 DF is a non selective herbicide and is not labeled for use on ornamentals, best where you want bareground. Broadleaf weeds in a flower & ornamental beds will be treated very differently and much more carefully than would be needed in a lawn. Any broadleaf weeds (like clover, violets, dandelion, etc) have to be hand pulled or directly spot treated with a general weed control product or Roundup. Since broadleaf weeds are so similar in nature to most plants found in bedding areas, you would not be able to spray over the top without harming both. Any grassy weeds can usually be controlled with an over the top broadcast spray such as Grass Out, in flower beds with no worry of harm coming to them, but you will always want to check the product label for your specific species to be sure it’s safe.
