Alpine is highly toxic to all aquatic life and should not be used near any bodies of water including rivers, ponds or lakes. Applications should be avoided in areas where any runoff or drainage could occur from irrigation or heavy rainfall.
EcoVia EC or Essentria IC3 are both options for treating insects around bodies of water without harming aquatic life. Please reivew the product labels for application rates and more information.
Alpine WSG is not labeled for carpet beetles.
We would recommend our Carpet Beetle KIt for a complete treatment program using NyGuard Plus Aerosol and Cimexa Dust. Please review our Carpet Beetle Treatment Guide for more information.
Alpine WSG uses soley the active ingredient Dinotefuran which is a Class 4A Neonicotinoid.
Demand Duo using Thiamethoxam (4A) and Lambda-cyhalothrin (3A) is referred to a “dual mode of action” insecticide meaning it contains 2 different class active ingredients which help prevent resistance or aversion that can develop with using the same class insecticide over a period of time.
Alpine WSG is not labeled for ornamental pests such as scale. We suggest Safari 20SG which has many applications for ornamental plants. Since orchids can be very sensitive, we always recommend testing a small area first for tolerance or consulting with a local or national orchid care group for their advice as well.
The best way to dispose of leftover mixed Alpine WSG is to pour along the foundation of the home outside.
If the stink bugs and spiders are your primary concern, we recommend using the 30 gram per gallon rate of Alpine WSG. If ants are your primary target, then using 20 grams per gallon will give you a slightly slower kill to improve the transfer effect.
Please view the product label for more information.
Alpine WSG is labeled for use on ornamental plants only, you would not use any vegetable garden plants. You can browse our Insecticides for use on edible plants here.
The Alpine WSG uses Dinotefuran which is a non repellent so it is a slower kill but will transfer throughout the colony better than contact insecticides. Some may die sooner, those that directly contacted the treated area as opposed to those the active ingrdient was transferred to.
Alpine WSG is mixed at 30 grams per gallon of water. Per page 6 of the product label for yellow jackets, when treating nests inside wall voids, inject an amount sufficient to treat the entire nest. Most applications should require about ½ gallon of mixed solution. It also emphasizes that this product does NOT provide an instant knockdown.Alpine WSG and Cy-kick CS should not be tank mixed together as the Cy Kick CS will counteract the non repellency of the Dinotefuran actve ingrdient.
No, Alpine WSG cannot be used in a car or vehicles. Maxforce Roach Bait Stations or the Advion Roach Bait Arenas can be used in vehicles for roaches. Bait stations need to be replaced every 2 weeeks unitl roach activity has stopped and depending on the infestation level, it will likely take several weeks to completely get rid of the roaches.
Before treating, we recommend vacuuming the car thoroughly focusing on really getting deep into the cushions/seats, around the center consoles, floorboards,as well as under the seats and trunk area. Wipe down all surfaces (cupholders, consoles, seat adjusments, door panels, etc with an approved auto cleaner to remove any liquid residue. Keep the vehicle free from food, eating dishes or utensils, cups or water sources, clothing, bags, cardboard boxes, etc that will attract roaches.
Yes, you are able to mix only ½ a packet of Alpine WSG with a half gallon of water if only needing a smaller amount of mixed solution. Please make sure you close the remaining product in the packet securely and keep stored in an airtight ziplock bag or container until the next treatment.
The rate for bed bugs is 10 to 30 grams of Alpine WSG. You can go at the high rate, to begin with, and make spot applications to the cracks and crevices.
We would recommend using the Temprid FX along to kill the bed bugs because you will be spraying in the same areas which would render each ineffective if sprayed over each other.
Alpine WSG https://www.domyown.com/alpine-wsg-p-2876.html has a residual of 30-60 days so retreatment may be done after 30 days. How long it takes to kill insects depends on a few factors such as age and health of the insect, how long they spend on the treated surface and how soon after application they contact it. How long it takes to eliminate a roach infestation depends on how large the infestation is, how consistent and thorough you are being with treatments and what products you are using. There is not a set time; it can take but it can take weeks or months even to get complete control. Alpine WSG is typically not used alone but in combination with other products. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating them that can offer some great advice; you can find it here.
Alpine WSG is applied at 10 grams per gallon of water per 1000 sq ft for fleas.
After the Alpine WSG applicaton has been mixed with water, sprayed and allowed to completely dry in the area behind the baseboard heater, this application should not pose any risk when the water pipes heat up. For further questions or concerns, please reach out to the manufacturer BASF directly for more information. BASF can be reached at 800-777-8570.
We recommend contacting your local waste management facility for instructions on where to take Alpine WSG waste in your area.
Yes, Bifen LP Granules can be applied in the mulch beds and grass outside the perimeter of the foundation where the application of Alpine WSG and NyGuard IGR stops. These would not interfere with each other as long as the areas are not cross treated.
When treating indoors for flea, you should do a thorough vacuuming of the home first before any treatments are made so that you can suck up any dead or alive fleas, as well as flea feces and eggs that are present. Remove couch cushions to vacuum underneath, and any other areas the pets frequent in the home. Once thoroughly vacuumed you can apply an insecticide labeled for indoor flea treatments, such as the Alpine WSG, and focus applications to heavily infested carpets, rugs, etc. After the product has had sufficient time to dry, its recommend to start vacuuming every couple of days until your next treatment (14 days later) to help remove any fleas dying from the insecticide, as well as to help stimulate any eggs that have not hatched to be exposed to the product you have put down. Continue this process until the flea infestation is gone.
