This should pose no issues for anybody in the home when used in the proper areas. Bat-A-Way granules do have a strong odor which is why they are not normally applied in the immediate living space. We do recommend applying the Bat-A-Way in mesh bags (cheesecloth, pantyhose, etc) or a small plastic container with holes punched in the top for easy removal.

Since dogs have a very strong sense of smell, the granules can be a bit overwhelming when they are exposed. For areas that are not well ventilated, put 2 to 4 ounces of repellent into mesh bags (cheesecloth, pantyhose, etc) or a small plastic container with holes punched in the top. This allows for easy product removal if odor becomes too strong We have never had a report of a dog that is actually allergic to the Bat-A-Way. If you suspect that your dog is having an allergic reaction, we advise you to contact your vet and be sure to have the Bat-A-way product label available in case the vet needs the product information.

Bat-A-Way will last up to 2 months after you apply it in an area. The person that left the review may have placed it an area where it was exposed to rain or wind which would diminish the time that it lasted.
