For optimum results:
For residential turf, golf courses, sod farm and grass grown for seed uses: Apply 3 to 4 pints of this product per acre (1.1 to 1.5 oz. per 1,000 square feet) to control above listed broadleaf weeds. Do not apply more than 4.2 pints of product (1.5 lbs. total ae) per acre per application. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year with a minimum retreatment interval of 21 days. The maximum use rate for most warm season grasses is 3 pints per acre.
On closely mowed golf course fairway bentgrass, apply this product at a maximum rate of 2 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.73 fluid ounce in 0.5 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet). During conditions which promote turf stress use lower rates, 1 to 1.5 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.36 to 0.55 fluid ounce in 0.3 to 5.5 gallons per 1,000 square feet). Slight turf yellowing will disappear after one week. To minimize grass injury, a second application should not be made for at least 4 weeks. Avoid swath overlaps. Do not use on golf course greens or tees.

Good Stuff
By Peter on 05/15/2014
I applied this with a 15 gallon sprayer towed behind my mower. It's important to first figure out how much area a full tank will cover so you know how much herbicide to put in. In my case, one tankful does about a half-acre with mower at idle speed. I saw results within a day, weeds were wilting. So far I am very pleased. No apparent damage to the turf. Be careful with this stuff, it's very concentrated. Important to get the coverage right I think.

Gets rid of lawn weeds
By Lowell on 05/11/2018
I've used this herbicide for about 4 years and it does work on broadleaf weeds in the lawn. However, I've often made the concentrate too strong which has affected the grass, so I recommend not going over the recommended concentration.

Great alternative to your normal 3-way
By Michael on 06/18/2019
I needed a product to spray in between my normal 3way apps with 2-4d in it. This product was more cost effective than most other options, but it did exactly what I needed, as well as putting a good knock down on some harder to control weeds.

Grounds Maintenance
By Damon on 05/20/2020
About 5 weeks ago, I applied Battleship to an area of lawn that I would like to add to my horse pasture. Is that area safe got grazing?
Battleship III Herbicide is not labeled for use in grazing or pasture areas.
How long do you need to wait after application to plant new grass seed?
Battleship III Herbicide states to wait at least 3-4 weeks before reseeding.
Will battleship kill goat heads? Second question - if battleship was previously sprayed on a pasture - how long before animals (cattle) can be brought back in? Understand it's not recommended for pastures -
Battleship III Herbicide is not specifically to target Japanese Stiltweed. Please review the tank mix instructions located on page 3 of the product label of Acclaim Extra.
Blindside WDG would be an option for Japanese Stiltweed (stiltgrass). Please review the product label for your turfgrass type and application rates.According to the manufacturer, Battleship III Herbicide can be applied to established perennial ryegrass for selective weed control. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions, for the full list of weeds controlled, and use as directed.
Battleship III Herbicide is safe to use on established fescue and should be used in addition to a Dyneamic Surfactant for best results.
The application rate is 3 to 4 pints of this product per acre (1.1 to 1.5 oz. per 1000 square feet) to control the weeds listed on page 6 of the product label. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year with a minimum retreatment interval of 21 days
Please review the full product label prior to application.
Neither the Battleship III Herbicide or MSMA Target 6.6 product label mentions restrictions regarding tank mixing with other herbicides therefore, we recommend doing a Compatibility Test, aka “Jar Test” to see if the 2 herbicides are compatible when mixed with water. A “Jar Test” is where you are mixing small amounts of each herbicide to 16 oz of water in a glass jar and looking for physical signs of sludge, clumpling or separation
Please view our video on how to Tank Mix Lawn Care Products for a short tutorial on how to tank mix herbicides.
Can Battleship III be mixed with a pre-emergent for application at the same time? What standard pre-emergent do you suggest?
Battleship III Herbicide is labeled for dock but not labeled for use on ornamental flowers. Broadleaf weeds in a flower & ornamental beds will be treated very differently and much more carefully than would be needed in a lawn. Any broadleaf weeds (like clover, violets, dandelion, etc) have to be hand pulled or directly spot treated with a non selective herbicide avoiding any contact with desirable plants. Since broadleaf weeds are so similar in nature to most plants found in bedding areas, you would not be able to spray over the top without harming both. Any grassy weeds can usually be controlled with an over the top broadcast spray in flower beds with no worry of harm coming to them, but you will always want to check the product label for your specific species to be sure it’s safe. We recommend using pre-emergents as that is the most effective way to stop weeds especially in flower bed areas where chemical options are limited.
Battleship III Herbicide is not safe to be applied to St. Augustinegrass.
Battleship III Herbicide is not labeled to be used around corn. We would recommend Aim EC Herbicide instead.
Yes, Battleship III Herbicide can be used on zoysiagrass. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Battleship is not labeled to treat poa or nutsedge. Blindside Herbicide WDG is labeled to suppress poa and kill over 70 different weeds and sedges. Please refer to the label to ensure your turf is tolerant before using.
