How do you know when the bed bug is completely gone? how long do you keep your clothes in plastic bags?
Getting bit at night. Got confirmation it's a bug, suspect bed bug. The exterminator and I have not seen one bug, no evidence. I went crazy, took everything out of closets, drawers, end tables - everything is in plastic now for a week. I can't live like this anymore. The Exterminator is coming back for a second dose on Aug 13 (that's three weeks), can't live like this. ;) At night, 4am, with flashlight, not one darn bug. No evidence of bed bugs.. I removed my box spring. just have a metal frame holding my mattress (no bugs on the mattress).... Thank you kindly.... Going Crazy... ha!!

We understand that having or suspecting that you have bedbugs is enough to drive anyone insane. There is no surefire way to determine if you have eliminated the infestation. The basic rule of thumb is if you can go 30 days without receiving a bite or seeing any new evidence of this pest, you are then considered bedbug free. Bedbug follow-up treatments are typically done every 7-10 days until the occupants of the home do not receive a bite or see any evidence of new bugs for 30 days. At the end of this time period, it is usually safe to unload treated items. Untreated items either need to be discarded or kept in a sealed container for 1 year.

Should I paint my home before or after treating for bedbugs
I am in the process of preparing my home to spray for bedbugs. Since my whole house will be gutted out we were planning on painting our house as well. I need to know if I should paint before or after treating for bed bugs. I was thinking to paint before so the chemicals don't get eliminated during the painting process. If you suggest painting after, how long should I wait to paint after spraying for bedbugs?

We recommend that you treat for bed bugs after painting. The idea is that the bed bugs come out and and come in contact with the treated area. We have a terrific combination of bed bug treatments in our Bed Bug kits.

Yes, you can use Bed Bug Kits while kids and dogs are in the house. The products you would be appying in the kit are only strong enough to kill small insects. It is a good idea to keep pets and children outside or in another room while treating and then allow about 30 minutes for the products to dry. Once dry it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the living space. Of course you should always store the products just like any other cleaning chemicals, out of reach of children and pets.

Look for these physical signs: Tiny black spots (excrement) on linens or other objects that when wet will turn red, small red stains from crushed bed bugs, translucent light brown skin casings, live bed bugs that are rusty-red in color, about the size of an apple seed. Typically, bedbugs like to stay as close as possible to their human hosts. Look for dark fecal spots — digested human blood — or even the bugs themselves on bed sheets, in the seams of a mattress, between the mattress and box spring, in the crevices of a box spring, and in the corners of the mattress by the headboard. To thoroughly inspect your bedding, dismantle the bed and stand all of the components on edge so that upper and lower surfaces can be examined. Nightstands and dressers should be emptied and examined inside and out, then tipped over to inspect the woodwork beneath. Often, the bugs will be hiding in cracks, corners and recesses. Heavy infestations may have a musty or "buggy" smell, but the odor often isn't apparent and shouldn't be relied on for detection. Is there really anything that will work on eliminating bed bugs?
We've been battling bedbugs (and possibly mites) for nearly a year now. We have used pyrethroid type products like jt eaton kills bedbugs, d-force, temprid sc, temp dust and recently demand. Also used were de and phantom. Except for the dusts and phantom, they were applied every 1-2 weeks for several applications before attempting something different. I can't comment on demand since it was applied recently but none of these products has eliminated the infestation. Phantom and tempo dust worked best but the bites persist. Many are supposed to have great results but haven't seen this and these were applied as directed. Is there a product available that will work without costing a small fortune? Thanks

Why do you think you may also have mites? Have you had the mites professionally identified? Are you actually seeing the insects or just noticing the bites? If you do see the insects where are you seeing them? Do you see any evidence of bedbugs (cast skins, blood spots, feces) and if so, where? Are you treating the entire home? Whenever we hear of a person that has treated their home over and over again with professional products and they are not seeing any relief we know that there is a problem with the treatment program and we must figure out what the problem is so we can help the person get on a proper course of action.

One Bed Bug Kit should be able to treat 2 bedrooms quite easily, but of course factors like the size of the bedrooms and how much stuff you have to treat will come into play as far as how far it will go. If you have a bad infestation, then it could take much more than 2 treatments to take care of your problem. If this is the case, it would be better to buy the Bed Bug Kit #2 or #3 so you have enough product to do subsequent treatments. Pest control companies charge so much money because most infestations require 2 or more treatments.

Can I spray just the powder in other rooms of the house?
mainly they are in our room ( bed ) but I found 2 today , 1 in the bathroom sink ( upstairs ) and 1 on the couch ( livingroom ).

I move into a government apartment due to my disable wife becoming sicker. Now I hear some apartments have bed bug. Bed bugs can travel through carpet. They most likely will not stay there. They like to hide in more inconspicuous places like cracks and crevices of the head board, in walls, etc. This is why we recommend before treating to steam clean and then use one of our Bed bug kits.

We bombed our room and the bed bugs didn't die they just kept roaming so then we used 100% alcohol on our bed and that killed them. We poured some on our wall trim but it seems like that didn't work. How would you get rid of them in the trim do I need to take it or what?

Alcohol can be used to kill insects on contact, but again, it will not continue to work after the application is done and dry. My neighbors had bedbugs, should we use Bed Bug Kit # 1 to treat?
So my neighbors had bed bugs and moved. They left all there stuff including bed bugs and now every now and then I'll find one and sometimes they already be dead. I only found four in total two alive and two dead. Now I'm doing my part and patching cracks in my walls and painting and cleaning with Lysol and I have my mattress in protect cover. The thread floor is were I find them my bed room so that's ground zero for were they like to come out no were else so far. I was just wondering if there is anything else I can do to make sure I don't get them because I don't have the money for an exterminator plus the land lord that's cleaning the house is making matters worse by leaving the beds out side not sealed shut and spraying raid everywhere. The Cimexa Dust can be used in wall voids, power outlets, and cracks that are to small to treat with the other products. Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol can be used on seems and folds of your mattress and boxspring, bed frames, picture frames, and furniture. When treating leather, take extra measures to only treat the tufts and folds of the recliner as well as deep down between the cushions and backrest areas. After the Bedlam treatment has dried, Cimexa Dust is then applied using the bellow hand duster to lightly dust between all sides of the cushions but also the undersides of the chair lightly dusting springs, levers and mechanical components.
