The little orange/red rubber piece is part of the dual lure and should not be removed from dual lure package. Please be sure to completely read and follow the instructions on the Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap product label located on the back of the box.

It is not clear from the small diagram of the box edge what to do with the lure. Per the Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap label, to replace the bag, grasp the neck of the bag firmly in one hand and detach at each vane hook with the other hand. Twist the neck of the bag and secure with a twist tie.  Place bag in securely covered garbage container.
