There is a lid on the Drione Dust that unscrews from the top. Also, the top black part on the bulb dusters that the clear extension tubes attach to also unscrews off of the bulb part of the duster. This will reveal a wide opening and will allow you to pour the dust in the duster, and then put the lid back on. You should do this outside in case any misses the opening, and just remember also that you should only fill the duster about 1/4 of the way for best results. You should never fill the duster more than half way or there will not be any room in the bulb duster for air to force the dust out.

With the two extensions, what is the length of the B&G bulb duster 1150 top to bottom?

The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 by itself with no tips attached is 7.75 inches long. With one extension tip attached the duster is 11.5 inches. With two extension tips attached the duster is 16 inches long.

How many ounces of dust does the B&G Bulb duster 1150 hold?

A

The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 holds 10 oz. of dust but to use the duster correctly you should not place more than 6 oz. inside the duster at a time. You want to leave some room for air to compress the dust for it to apply the proper amount when you are using it.

The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 comes with three tips. There are two tips for granules and they are 1/4" tips and there is one smaller tip for dusts and it is 1/8".

How much dust should come out of the B&G Bulb Duster 1150?
I'm not sure if I using it wrong but when I dust with the duster held upright, there doesn't seem to be much coming out at all. If I point down or hold horizontally and squeeze, more comes up. I am attempting to squeeze dust into some carpenter been holes on my fascia but I cannot tell if any/enough is coming out.

The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 is designed so just a small amount of dust comes out at a time. You only want to apply enough dust to kill insects. If a there is a large pile the insect may go around the dust. The duster could also be clogged and would need to be cleaned out.

If you apply to holes that the yellow jackets are going in and out of, dusting will work to kill them. Tempo 1% Dust would be a great choice to use in the B&G Bulb Duster 1150.

Getting stung from carpenter bees while dusting?
I have a carpenter bee problem on the outside of my shed. I know the males can't sting and the females rarely sting. Whats the chances of getting stung dusting the holes? I have multiple holes 10 or so all around the shed (some might be old and not used but I don't know so I need to do all of them). I do see 3-4 bees at times outside buzzing around the shed but no more that that. Does the female or males usually come out right away after being dusted? Should I do all the holes at once even if more bees come out or do as many until they start coming out? Any help will be appreciated without getting stung. Thanks

It is highly unlikely to get stung by the carpenter bees. It would be best to make the application with B&G Bulb Duster 1150 during the times of the days the bees are less active. Such as early morning or later evening.

Will B&G Bulb Duster 1150 work with Diatomaceous Earth?
I have ants coming in through my patio door and front door and would like to apply it at the door jamb. There is also a crevice between the floor and the door jam on the inside. Will this do the trick?

Yes, the B&G Bulb Duster can be used with diatomaceous earth. This will hold 10 oz. of product, however, we recommend only using 6 oz. at a time so that the product will come out correctly.

Which is the better duster the B&G Bulb Duster 1150 or Centrobulb CB14EXT?
I would like a profession grade of application with dust. Clumping of dust in the chamber is a problem

We recommend dusters based on individual needs. If you are looking for a duster to reach smaller areas, we would recommend the B&G Bulb Duster because it has different size tips.

I have paper wasp nests attached to he bottom of deck boards. There are cracks between each board so I want to insert the extender through the crack and aim the dust back up to the bottom of the boards.

I was going to order the dust. But how do I apply it so that it spreads over a wider area? The duster seems like it concentrates it into a small areas.

Can the B&G Bulb Duster 1150 be used for outside application?
We have nests behind our cement stairs. We are unable to move the stairs but there is a gap of about 1/2 inch between the stairs and outside wall.

The B&G duster would be a great tool for treating the gap around your stairs or similar cracks and crevices around the structure. Depending on the insect, you will want to choose an insecticide dust with some residual, such as Delta Dust, which is moisture resistant.

What is the use for the thin clear tube connected to the side and top of the B&G Duster Bulb?
Brand new B&G Duster clear plastic tube is crimped to the side and runs down through the top of the (what looks like) the applicator base down into the bulb. The opposite end (inside the bulb) is crimped or melted as to prevent the tube from coming out. It looks like it may be for shipping purposes or to maybe unclog the tip but in pictures and videos some dusters have the tubes some do not.

The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 can be used to to apply granular baits but Talstar PL will provide best results when applied with a broadcast spreader and watered in, per the label instructions.
