Bifen IT can be used on non-bearing fruit and nut trees that will not produce a harvestable crop during the season of application.
If you are using Bifen IT to treat an active flea infestation, you will need to re-treat 14 days after your initial application. It is strongly recommended to also use an insect growth regulator (IGR) such as Archer IGR in addition to the Bifen IT in order to stop the fleas from reproducing. Please take a moment to read over our Flea Control Guide for more information on how to implement a successful eradication program.
Bifen I/T is used in poultry housing and facilities and as long as the chickens are removed from the area while you treat. You should still be able to use it in their grazing areas with no issue since they are not actually feeding on the grass/potential seeds place out but on the insects in that area after everything has dried. If you had any concerns with the Bifen I/T usage, another option that is safe to use in grazing areas is Essentria All Purpose. You still have to remove the chickens during the application but once dry is safe to return just like the Bifen IT. Neither product should have any effect on their eggs at all as long as you are following usage instructions.
Bifen IT is labeled for sod webworms and can kill moths that contact a treated area. It will not work for grubs. Triple Crown would be a good all round option for lawn infesting insects.
Yes, Bifen IT is very gentle on turfgrass and other ornamental plants. You should use 0.25 - 0.5 oz per 1,000 square feet to treat leafhoppers.
It is not recommended to leave any type of chemical in areas where they could freeze or over heat because of the potential for the chemical to break down. According to the manufacturer, as long as the Bifen IT was only exposed to sub freezing temperatures for a short period of time and the product looks exactly the same as before it was exposed, it should be fine.
Bifen IT is not labeled to be used in pastures or in areas with grazing animals at all. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly for confirmation on reentry time. We would recommend Bifen IT as a great general insecticide. It is labeled for spiders, roaches, and over 75 other pests. It can be used indoors and outdoors. The residual is up to 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. Bifen IT can also be broadcast across your lawn, sprayed on trees, shrubs, flowers, etc with a hand pump sprayer. It cannot be sprayed on any type of edibles. You will mix 1 fl. oz. of Bifen IT per gallon of water.
Bifen IT is mixed at the rate of 1 oz. per gallon of water for most pests. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.
Keep in mind that Bifen IT is not a contact kill. How long it takes to see results will depend on several factors, including how healthy the leafhopper is and how long it spends on a treated surface. It could be hours or even a couple of days.
Bifen IT is labeled for stink bugs. You can use it indoors and outdoors but it is not labeled for use in a vegetable garden. We suggest using Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Broad Use Insecticide with 10% Permethrin. It can be used on certain edible vegetation not grown for sale. Please take a few minutes to read the product label to see if the plants you need to treat are listed.
That is correct, the Bifen IT 3/4 gallon does not have a measuring reservoir. You will need a separate measuring device to measure out the correct amount of concentrate. You could use any measure cup as long as it is designated just for insecticides.
We don't recommend spraying Bifen IT on roses, since it isn't labeled specifically for roses. We would recommend you use a product like Bayer Advanced All-In-One Rose and Flower Care that is labeled for use on roses.
We do NOT recommend spraying any liquid in electrical outlets as this is a shock hazard. We would recommend applying a dry insecticide dust such as Cimexa with a duster. The mixture can be applied to cracks and crevices inside and outside the structure and just eliminates the ants that come into contact with the areas-not instant kill. We would recommend that you bait inside the kitchen with the products in this Kit. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article.
Unfortunately the state of Connecticut has limited most of the products out there on the market these days that can be shipped into the state without having a license to purchase them. Pest Xpert Home Barrier? would be one option of a comparable insecticide spray to Bifen IT that could be used in CT. An all natural option that works similarly is Essentria IC3 and can cover a wide range of pests and usage areas like the Bifen IT as well.

We also recommend dusting the carpenter bee holes with an insecticide dust such as Tempo Dust to help kill any larva inside. Do not plug the holes for at least 30 days after dusting to prevent the developing larva from drilling a new hole to exit.
There really are no temperature restrictions for applying Bifen IT. It can be applied at any time of day as long as you are not expecting any rain for at least 24 hours.
