Usually you will concentrate your treatments up under the lip of the carpet. A dust insecticide such as Cimexa Dust would be a great choice because it stays active for a every long time.

A

Although, Cimexa contains 100% natural silica gel, we still do not advice breathing it in. It could be harmful to you. You may want to consider wearing a Respirator mask when making your application.

CimeXa Dust is similar to diatomaceous earth in that it is an all-natural product that does not break down over time. However, CimeXa Dust is more finely processed than most DE products, allowing for very low use rates. CimeXa also works as a direct dessicant, meaning the insects only have to contact the dust for a short amount of time rather than actually moving across it, so it does kill a little more quickly than DE. CimeXa Dust will be effective as long as it is present in the treatment area and remains dry.

I have read to not have children around when applying Cimexa.
I have not seen it addressed that children will ultimately be on the carpet or touching items/toys that have cimexa on it, breathing it, transferring to face etc. can you address residual for children?

How do you kill bed bugs behind walls? Should we drill holes & dust?
Hello, i have a question about bed bug control.. I have read your website & watched your videos on bed bug control. We have purchased all of the products necessary for treating our home. But, we believe the infestation started in my stepson's bedroom. That is where we have found the most activity and bugs. He has a big opening in his wall, that was put there for plumbing access (bathroom is on other side of wall). We have thrown out ALL furniture in that bedroom, & caulked EVERY crack & crevice. It is empty. But, there is still ALOT of bed bug activity in there. We believe the bed bugs are hidden in that wall, & coming from there. We have also found dead bed bugs around that opening, & live ones on our bathroom walls (just on the other side of that bedroom). My question is: How in the world can we kill bed bugs behind the wall? Should we drill holes in that wall & dust?

When treating for bed bugs or any other insect pest, we have to get the insecticide in contact with the insect. For bed bug treatments, that means treating all the harborage areas and potential harborage areas with insecticides. Insecticide dust such as the CimeXa would be best for wall voids because it is the longest lasting formulation that we can use there. Usually the best way to access the wall void is by removing outlet and switch plate covers and then applying the dust with a hand duster. The B&G Bulb Duster 1150 would be a good choice for you because it has a flexible plastic application tip. We would not recommend creating addidtional holes in the wall unless they could be immediately sealed. Please let us know if you have further questions.

Namely because these little insects are notorious hitch hikers, and you could completely seal all possible ways for the bedbug to come from the infested neighbor and still bring some home on your belongings from the movies, the mall or your place of employment. Having said that, you should still do all that you can to prevent having bedbugs come over from the neighbor. You should use caulk to seal any cracks or crevice around the baseboards, window frames, door frames, and around places where vents, cables, pipes or wires come through the wall. You can apply a dust such as Cimexa dust into wall voids, electrical outlets, and switch plates. This will help kill any bedbugs that make their way through the walls. We also recommend thoroughly inspecting your mattress and headboards and bed frame frequently for any signs of bedbugs.

I would like to mix Diatomaceous earth with Cimexa, as I want to treat our entire house we are just purchasing. I have a 25 lb. of DE, and I just purchased 2 of the 4 oz. bottles of Cimexa.

There really would be no valid reason for mixing Cimexa with Diatomaceous Earth as they are both dusts used in the same areas and kill the same way just with different active ingredients. If you choose to apply them both you should apply each product following the instructions on each product label. Be aware that applying too much dust can have a negative effect, if you can see the dust so can insects and they can avoid the treated area then, either should be applied as just a light dusting.

I am not sure how much CimeXa Insecticide Dust to buy for interior PERIMETER only
(It says coverage is 200 sq ft for a 4oz bottle.) For example, I have a 600 sq ft room BUT I am only going to use this around the perimeter which is 96 linear feet how much product do I need 1 bottle or 3 bottles?

CimeXa Insecticide Dust goes a long way. In each area you are applying, you only need to do approx. 3 puffs of powder. Most homeowners only need one 4oz bottle.

CimeXa Insecticide Dust can take minutes to hours to kill depending on what stage in life cycle the Bed Bugs are. It does cause them to dehydrate and die. The immature stages may take longer as they are not as active as the mature stages.

A

It is not necessary to apply Boric Acid and Cimexa dust in the same area. If you have previously used one or the other and wish to change out the dust that is fine if the other product is vacuumed first. You would apply them in the same types of areas (cracks and crevices and voids).

All of our dusts are safe if used as directed on the label. For bed bugs, we would recommend Cimexa Insecticide Dust. Treat the interior framework, joints and cracks in the bed frame. Treat the mattress and box spring, paying particular attention to tufts, folds and edges, and the interior framework of the box spring. Remove wall-mounted headboards and treat the back side. Treat picture frames, moldings, hollow furniture legs, cracks and crevices, along baseboards, and any areas with visible signs of infestation, including rugs and carpet. Treat upholstered furniture by removing or lifting (if possible) the cushions and treating the undersurface. Treat the interior framework, cracks and joints of the furniture, and the folds, tufts and edges of cushions and other upholstered areas. Do not treat toys and stuffed animals with product. Treat wall voids by removing electrical switch plate covers to allow access, but don’t apply dust directly in electrical boxes. Apply about ¼ oz of dust to each accessible void. No dust should be left exposed. This product can last for up to 10 years if left undisturbed. With Evergreen Pyrethrum Dust with 1% Pyrethrin, this product should not be used where it will come in direct contact with people and/or pets. This is a crack and crevice treatment only. You will need to use this product in conjunction with othe products such as Temprid SC and Bedlam Aerosol for an effective bed bug treatment. Both of those products are safe once they are dry. They should not be used while the pets and/or children are in the room. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I am currently using Talstar Pro to kill major stinkbug problem, but need help in the cracks, will Cimexa work?

Cimexa will definitely help to kill the stink bugs that are entering/exiting from the cracks and crevices. Cimexa does not kill immediately but instead will take several hours to actually kill the bugs but it is very long lasting and there is no known resistance to the product.
