    Q
Can I fog spiders with this fogger in a crawl space under the house?
    A

Yes, you can use the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger to fog for spiders in a crawl space environment. We would recommend using a fogging concentrate with it like Riptide which is a water based solution that can be used both indoors and out.

    Q
Can you adjust the droplet size? Can you point the stream up or down or to the side?
I want a fogger for using cedar-based natural pesticide against mites that have completely permeated my large apartment and everything in it. I want to point it to penetrate ceilings, corners and baseboards. I'm going to try cedar because two well-reputed exterminating companies have already failed, using chemicals including the ones you recommend. UGH.
    A
Yes, the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger an adjustable valve and can pivot up and down.

    Q
Can these 4 work in the Tri Jet Fogger: Gentrol IGR, NyGuard IGR, Demand CS, and Demon WP?
These are the 4 product I currently have bought from your company.
    A
While the NyGuard IGR and Gentrol IGR are labeled for use in fogging equipment, the Demand CS and Demon WP are not and will not work in the Commander Tri Jet Fogger or any other fogging unit. Please tell us what insect you are trying to treat for so that we can give you better tips on application of these products you purchased for the insect you are trying to eliminate.

    Q
    Outdoor use for mosquitos?
Will this fogger with Riptide be more effective at controlling mosquitos vs. using a pump sprayer with Talstar P? I want to get the best bang for my buck but don't want to waste money on something that will not work and don't want to spend 700 on a blower.
    A
Yes, a Commander Tri-Jet Fogger can be used outdoors as well as indoors. Riptide ULV is labeled to be used in the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger, however, Riptide is a contact kill; it does not have any type of residual effect after it is dry.  Talstar P (Talstar One) has a residual effect that would keep on killing for at least 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors. They are both wonderful options for mosquito control but if you are looking for something that is going to last longer, we would recommend using Talstar P (Talstar One).

    Q
Can a fogger be used in say an attic for treatment of old house borers? If so which chemical do you recommend?
    A
While foggers can be used in attics to treat for many insects, fogs are normally not the recommended treatment method for any type of boring insect. You would need to treat the wood in the attic directly with a product like Boracare. Boracare is specifically formulated to absorb into wood either through spraying or painting it onto the surface and eliminate any insect that consumes the wood. It will last for the life of the wood as well to help prevent any new infestations from wood destroying insects or wood destroying fungus. You can see a great article from the Penn State Universities Entomology department on Old House Borers HERE. Under the management area number 3 refers to the borate treatment for the wood.

  • Asked by Amy from Brush, Co

    Q
So - how exactly would you use this in your yard? Do you hold it in your hands to spray bushes, grass, etc.?
Do you set it on the ground and rotate it every few minutes? Is it harmful to pets? (Our dogs are grass eaters!) Is the sprayer our best bet? (I suspect a LOT of the mosquitos breed in the standing water of our storm drain on the corner of our front yard!) All our neighbors have TALL trees - i.e. cotton woods, blue spruce, aspen, etc. We stick to 10 to 15 footers.
    A

For mosquito control Bifen IT is our most popular selling product for mosquito control.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using a sprayer.  You will need about 1 oz of product for every 1,000 sq ft of space you need to treat. The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or patio where you are trying to provide relief.  It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants, but on the underside of the leaves as well which is where the mosquitoes hang out. Bifen should be applied every 30 days for optimum control. You can also mix in an insect birth control like NyGuard IGR to spray at the same time as the Bifen to stop the reproductive cycle and get a better hold over the population on the property. You will want to apply the Bifen and Nyguard mixture with a tank sprayer of some sort, either a 1 or 2 gallon pump sprayer or a backpack sprayer. Using foggers like the Commander Tri Jet is great if you want to go out and fog periodically every few days or before a large party or event around your home, however most products used in those types of foggers are going to primarily be contact kill only, which means only killing mosquitoes and other pest while you are out there physically using the fogger. You could walk around with the fogger or mount it to the back of a 4 wheeler or trailer and pull it along to treat areas of your lawn and trees. For the storm drain areas you would definitely want and need to use some type of larvacide like our BTI Mosquito Dunks. All of the products are completely safe when used how directed on the label. The Bifen and NyGuard should be sprayed into target areas for the mosquitoes and just keep pets and children out of the area while you are spraying, and until the treated surfaces have dried. Once dry pets can roll on and chew on grass without harm. You can also see a few tips in our article How to Get Rid of Mosquitoes for better control.

    Q
What disinfectant product will work with the Tri-Jet Fogger? I want to spray/fog fitness equipment.
I need to disinfect fitness equipment after closing.
    A
We would recommend using Nisus DSV-Disinfectant Sanitizeer Virucide. This product can be used in a Commander Tri-Jet Fogger. You will use 3 fl. oz. per gallon of water. You will need to vacate the area during fogging for a minimum of two hours after fogging. All food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed prior to reuse with potable water. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
    What powers the motor?
The description does not say what powers the motor. In fact, how does this device actually work? What happens when the gallon reservoir runs dry -- does it hurt the motor or does it just shut down?
    A

The device runs when it is plugged up and the power is switched on. It does not automatically shut down when the reservior is dry so you would have to turn it off.

To clean and preserve the life of the fogger: Fill tank with warm fresh water and little detergent and reattach to unit and let run for few minutes outside to insure there is no product left in fogger this will prolong the life of your Commander Tri-Jet Fogger. Always clean and dry intake filter after each use. When unit is clean, place back into box to protect from damage when not in use.

    Q
I need fly control in my barn. Do I have to remove the horses? Will this fogger work for this need?
My barn is 48x48 and is infested with flies regardless of cleaning 2x's a day. Is this a fogger that can be used 24/7 with the horses in the barn?
    A

No, Commander Tri Jet foggers are not meant to be left on all day. This will burn the motor out if you do so. It is recommended that when you are using this fogger, put the right amount of product into the tank, let it run for as long as it needs to, and turn it off immediately to prolong the life of the fogger. Generally, it takes no more than 6-7 minutes for a product to disperse throughout the room when using this product.

A good option for fly control in the barn to use inside of the Commander Tri Jet fogger is Riptide. It will kill whatever it comes in contact with and once dry, it does not leave a residual.

    Q
I've got a rather big place with lots of trees I want to know if this thing puts out fog or fine mist
I've got the propane powered fogger and that works great just need something a little beefier that I could tie down to my tractor to use
    A
From what we know of the product info provided to us, it provides a mist that will reach up to 30 feet from the nozzle. However, we have not put this particular item to test in our warehouse to know the exact release it has, so you may want to contact the manufacturer for more accurate details on the application you will get when in use. You can reach Createch at 1-850-421-6002.

    Q
What size 12 V inverter will I need to push the amp/watts with Commander Tri-Jet Fogger?
    I have a 800 watt 6.8 amp inverter now..
    A
Createch does not recommend using any type of inverter with the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger. Using an Inverter would put too much strain on the unit. Createch did however say that the Commander Tri Jet is compatible with generators.
