    Q
Recommended product for use against bird mites using this fogger
I'm fighting a bird mite infestation. I can knock them back but cannot eliminate them. I'm currently spraying Tempo and Onslaught, both mixed with Nyguard IGR. I've read only repeatedly fogging the entire house will eliminate them. I'm looking for help and product recommendations.
    A
We do not currently carry any products that are specifically labeled for bird mites to be used in a fogger. Spraying will eliminate them as well. Just make sure you are spraying according to the label. Overuse of a product can cause resistancy from the pests.

    Q
Is there anything we can do to keep the Commander Tri-Jet motor clean after forgetting to put the intake filter on?
First time using tri-jet fogger in fairly clean space for precaution against mold. But we didn't realize the filter was the white cloth thing. Anything we can do after the fact to help keep motor etc clean (we ran the machine outside with deregent to clear it after using but without the filter)?
    A

To clean and preserve the life of the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger: Fill the tank with warm fresh water and a little detergent and reattach to the unit and let it run for few minutes outside to insure there is no product left in fogger. This will prolong the life of your Commander Tri-Jet Fogger. Always clean and dry the intake filter after each use. When the unit is clean and dry, place back into the box to protect from damage when not in use. If you have more specific questions about the motor, please contact the manufacturer at 850-421-6002.

    Q
What does over fogging mean with Commander Tri-Jet Fogger?
    A
When using the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger, over fogging refers to the adjustment of the flow valve. You want to make sure to adjust the flow valve so that not too much 'fog" or product are applied in one area. This could leave a residue.

    Q
Which fogger pesticide do you recommend for spiders in barn?
    A

Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is a great option for use inside of a cold fogger or ULV fogger for spider control. This product will kill the insects it comes in contact with. It can be used diluted or undiluted. Once it has dried, it is no longer working.

    Q
    Does this offer humidity control?
The description states this product 'controls humidity'. I assume that means it adds moisture to the air in a dry climate. I need the reverse since I live in Houston. Am I correct in my assumption that it ADDS humidity?
    A
You are correct in that using the Tri-Jet fogger would add humidity to an area. We do carry a full line of Santa Fe Humidifers on our website.

    Q
Can the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger be used for fogging indoors for termites?
    A

While the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger can be used for fogging insecticides indoors for listed insects, there is not a termiticide labeled for this type of application nor would this be effective. Tenting is a specific treatment that is done by professionals only and cannot be even closely duplicated by a homeowner.

For Drywood Termites, you would need to directly treat the wood they are infesting.BoraCare would be the best and long term treatment to the wood the termite colony has infested.

View our Drywood Termite Treatment Guide for more information.

For Subterranean Termites where termite colonies are located in the soil under or around the home, the most effective treatment is by trenching around the exterior perimeter foundation with Taurus SC. Taurus SC, when applied as a trench treatment will eradicate a termite colony wiithin 90 days and will provide a 10 year barrier protection against Subterranean Termites.

View our Subterranean Termite Treatment Guide for step by step instructions and more information.

Termidor Foam can be used to directly treat active termite colonies ISubterranean or Drywood) in wall voids, around windows, doors, behind cabinets, etc.Termidor Foam will not eradicate an entire Subterranean Termite Colony but will treat that area of activity.

    Q
Will this unit fog Dipel Pro DF Biological wettable powder? How about Thuricide concentrate for feeding worms?
I am trying to come up with a strategy to stop winter moth and gypsy moth caterpillars.
    A

Wettable powder product like Dipel Pro DF Biological cannot be used in any fogging equipment such as the Tri-Jet.  Thuricide Concentrate is not labeled to be used in a fogger as well.  Either would be good to use as directed on their labels in a pump sprayer though.

  • Asked by Jeff from Santa Rosa
    02/11/2021
    Q
Can I kill ants with the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger?
I have ants coming up from under the house.
    A

Fogging would not be the best method to treat for ants that are foraging inside of the structure. Fogging will only kill insects that are present during the application without a continued kill. Treatment with baits in and around the property (trailing sites etc)  and applying a residual product that will continue to be effective would be best for this colonized insect so that you will be able to target more than the amount of pests noticed. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Ants for a successful program.

  • Asked by Penny from Aniwa, Wi
    08/18/2021
    Q
Could the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger be used with fogging concentrate to fog the top of my barn for hornets and wasps? What fogging concentrate is recommended?
    A

You could potentially use a fogging solution inside the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger to kill flying insects such as hornets and wasps in your barn. ULD BP-100 Fogging Concentrate has hornets and yellowjackets on the label. Keep in mind that fogging solutions are unlikely to provide instant knockdown on larger insects like wasps, however. We advised wearing protective clothing and leaving the area as soon as possible after treatment. If you can get within about 15-20 feet of a nest, then you will get a much faster knockdown using a ready-to-use product such as PT Wasp Freeze Aerosol. Animals and food or feed should not be present or exposed when these products are applied.

  • Asked by Terry from Warner Robins, Ga.
    11/09/2021
    Q
Can I use a liquid nitrogen in the Commander Tri-Jet Fogger as a stage fog machine?
    A

Most fog machines consist of a heat element to heat up the oil based fogging product to create a "fog". The Commander Tri-Jet Fogger shoots out a cold ultra low volume spray and it does not contain a heating element. This product would likely perform very poorly for this use and would likely end up drenching people in product. We would advise using a fog machine specifically for your use/product.

Do I need to move Commander Tri-Jet Fogger around when fogging my crawl space or can I leave it sitting in the same spot?
    A

The Commander Tri-Jet Fogger is a piece of equipment that you hold and direct the fog to where you want it to go.  It is not one that is set and left.
