Demand CS is not labeled for use inside of a fogger. It can be mixed with water and used in a pump sprayer for crack and crevice application for bedbugs. We do offer Bedbug Kits that will offer a complete application for this pest. Please take a few moments to review our article/videos on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful treatment.
Since Demand CS is an insecticide, it could potentially harm honeybees which were sprayed directly or which came into contact with treated areas. We always recommend that you spray in the morning or evening when pollinators like bees are less active, and that you avoid spraying on flowering plants where they may be active. Usually there is not a danger to bees or other pollinators if you are just spraying around the perimeter of your home. We do offer Mavrik Perimeter, which is a broad-spectrum insecticide that is non-toxic and non-repellent to bees once dry.
In this case, the “A” on the Demand CS product label stands for acre.
Demand CS is typically safe when used as directed and animals are kept out of the area until dry. However, we recommend contacting your vet for specific advice on what is safe to spray. We are not sure what would be toxic in the tortoises’ environment and we certainly do not want to recommend anything that could be dangerous.
Demand CS and Cy-Kick CS are both labeled for scorpions, but the Cy-Kick CS typically has a quicker kill, so that may be the better product for your specific needs. You can add ExciteR when spraying to assist in contact killing the ones it comes in contact with while the product is wet. ExciteR has no residual.
Demand CS is labeled for bedbug control. However, it should not be the sole product used to treat for bedbugs. We do offer Bedbug Kits that will offer a complete application for this pest. Please take a few moments to review our article/videos on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful treatment.
It is difficult to get extra Demand CS from the measuring chamber back into the main part of the bottle. You can pour it out into another container and then back into the main chamber, or carefully only pour out what you need from the measuring chamber into your sprayer and leave the remaining for the next application.
Demand CS should be effective for up to 4 weeks if applied when there is no irrigation from sprinklers/rain etc until the product is fully dry. Running sprinklers multiple times a week may reduce the effectiveness.
Demand CS comes with a product label that provides mixing instructions for the listed pest. This product is labeled for bed bugs, however, it should not be the sole product used to treat for bedbugs. We do offer Bedbug Kits that will offer a complete application for this pest. Please take a few moments to review our article/videos on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for a successful treatment.
Demand CS is not a contact kill product, it is a residual product that can take a few days to start killing the carpenter bees. You could incorporate a dust insecticide like Delta Dust. It is water-resistant insecticide dust with the powerful active ingredient Deltamethrin, suitable for most common crawling and flying insect pests. Using insecticide dust directly in existing carpenter bee nests gives you the best chances of getting rid of carpenter bees that are already in the area. You can apply Delta Dust with the B&G Bulb Duster 1150. After this treatment, you can use Trebor Plastic Plugs - 3/8 inch 14 days after spraying and dusting to seal up existing holes. This allows time for the female bees to return to the nest, come into contact with the application, and spread the dust throughout the nest.
Demand CS is not labelled for snails. Sluggo Plus is the most popular product for snail control in the lawn and around the home. Please review our Snail and Slug Control Page here for more information.
No, Demand CS cannot be used over impervious surfaces.
Demand CS can be toxic to aquatic life. If there are areas of runoff please avoid treating these areas.
Drione Dust should only be applied to cracks and crevices in areas where it will remain undisturbed. It should not be used in open living areas, or in areas accessable to people or pets. Mopping over areas where Demand CS has been applied can remove the residual the product leaves behind once dry.
Demand CS would only be recommended for outdoor control of fleas. It is not labeled for indoor flea control. You would use 0.4 fl oz per gallon of water for outdoor flea control. For indoor flea control, Onslaught would be the better option. We do also recommend using an insect growth regulator such as Nyguard inside and out. We have a great flea control guide here with more information.
CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins will kill spiders, but only the spiders that are exposed at the time the fogger is released.
For indoor use, instead of fogging we recommend spraying a residual insecticide such as Demand CS into the cracks and crevices around door and window frames, baseboards, under appliances and in places where cables, pipes and wires enter through the walls.
You can also use Demand CS to spray around the exterior on the foundation, door and window frames, around places where cables, pipes and wires enter into the structure and any other crack, crevice or hole where insects can gain entry. By using the residual insecticide inside and outside you will be eliminating hidden spiders that come out to hunt and also the insects that they are there to prey on. By eliminating the spiders' food source, you will be forcing the spiders to move out and you will be making the structures less desirable to other spiders looking for new hunting grounds. See our Spider Control Guide for more information about controlling spiders.
Both are great options really and can last up to 90 days outside. Demand CS may have a faster kill than the Suspend Polyzone.
Demand CS is said to be odorless, but for added safety, we would recommend using the N95 Valved Respiratory Mask. That said, if you have specific health concerns, it is always recommended to consult your doctor before applying this or any other product.
Demand CS is labeled for certain mites in general across a lawn only.
Here is our best advice on mite control:
It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with mites. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for mites. If you do indeed have mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead rodent on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust.Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs. We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.
