Yes, Demand CS will kill carpenter ants that come in contact with a treated surface. It is micro-encapsulated, so it works like a time released formula. For carpenter ant control specifically, we would recommend our Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit. The kit contains professional pest control products to control carpenter ants found inside structures, including two baits that contain different formulations and active ingredients to increase bait acceptance and efficacy. To control carpenter ants around the exterior of your home, Taurus SC will do the trick. You would mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home.
Demand CS should be used within 24 hours of mixing the solution. After that the product starts to lose its effectiveness.

Demand CS will kill ants that have come into contact with the areas treated with the product but it will not reach the nesting locations. Harvester ants should be left alone if they are not a direct threat or nuisance. They provide food for many animals, and also help distribute grass seed, and are overall beneficial. However, if control becomes necessary, you can easily get rid of harvester ants using the right professional products.Granular ant baits are the best choice to control harvester ants. Nearly any granular ant bait will work, but look for those labeled for use on harvester ants.Products with abamectin, like Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait, bifenthrin, like Talstar PL Granules and hydramethylnon, like Maxforce Complete Granular Bait, among many others, will all be effective against harvester ants. Always follow the label instructions carefully, but 2-5 tablespoons of granular bait scattered over the colony’s central opening should be sufficient to control the colony. For non-chemical control, destroy nests and habitat with regular mowing and other lawn maintenance.
Demand CS would not kill bed bug eggs as it is not a contact kill. However Bedlam and Bedlam Plus are labeled to kill both Bed Bugs and their eggs. You should note that even products that are labeled to kill bedbug eggs are not able to kill 100% of the eggs and you will still be required to do follow up treatments every 7-10 days until no further evidence (bites, blood stains, cast skins, fecal deposits) of bedbugs is noticed.

Demand CS is not labeled to be used where animals graze and would not be recommended in this area. The only insecticide product we carry that would be safe is the Essentria All Purpose though baiting is the recommended method for carpenter ants. Demand CS is not a contact kill so once a fly contacts a treated area it could still get inside before it succombs to the insecticide, but that does mean that it is working. If the cluster flies have already made their way indoors they will be harder to control because they usually hide in a wall void or other inaccessible area and are only visible when the house warms up. If the cluster flies are in an attic or drop ceiling or other dark area, a fly light would do a great job controlling the population. Using small fly lights such as the FlyWeb Fly Light in the house would also help to catch the flies. Spray Talstar directly on baseboards, window frames, door frames, and places where utilities (pipes, wires, cables) enter in to the building and any other crack, crevice or gap where insects can enter. We also have a great guide here on "How to Get Rid of Cluster Flies" that might help.
