Which product has the longest residual against crickets, spiders, and centipedes?
In my crawl space is where I initially have the problem, then they find themselves inside the home. Living with a wife and 3 daughters is not fun when these pests start to show up.

Wettable powder formulations such as Demon WP or Tempo WP or microencapsulated formulations such as Onslaught or Cy-Kick CS will have the longest lasting residuals. These formulations are more stable than other insecticide formulations and they are also labeled for crickets, spiders and centipedes. Even the longest lasting insecticide cannot keep out 100% of insects because insects can find creative ways to go around or over insecticides. We recommend that in addition to spraying the perimeter and crawlspace of your home that you also see how you can alter the environment immediately around your home to make it less favorable to insects. How often should Demon WP be applied indoors? outdoors?

A

For most applications Demon WP is applied once every three months indoors and once a month outdoors. The Demon WP product label does allow applications every 7 days indoors when necessary though most people do not have an issue that would demand weekly applications.

I am having a serious Boxelder bug problem.
I have had them for years! No one can get control, not even the pros. They get a treatment and move to another area of the yard. Now they are working their way inside. I also am starting to get roaches; I bought a dryer from a yard sale. Now they just appeared a few days after that. Don't know if they came in with the dryer or not. Again, the pros cannot get control. HELP!!! I do have a small dog and grandbabies on the way. They are also a problem down the road from me. They are in multitudes and I have never seen nor dealt with anything like this.

Outdoor applications of Demon WP made once a month October - November can help you get control of the boxelder bugs, though you must understand that it will not drive them off of your property, it will only stop most of them from gaining entry into your home. You should also take the time to inspect the outside of your home and seal up any cracks, crevices or gaps you find so that you are limiting places where the insects can enter your home. Demon WP will also help eliminate roaches from your home but you will need to use it in conjunction with a high quality roach bait gel and an insect growth regulator as roaches like to hide and may not readily come into contact with treated surfaces. You can find both a roach bait gel and an IGR sold together in our Roach Control Kits. When the actual application of the Demon WP is being made all pets and children should be out of the house, and they can return as soon as the treated areas are dry. The roach bait gel should be placed directly into cracks and crevices around counters, sinks, drawers and cabinets. This will make the gel available to the roaches and inaccessible to your pets and children. The Gentrol Point Source do not actually contain any insecticides, just an insect juvenile growth hormone mimic. These discs can also be placed out of reach of children and animals and are readily used in sensitive locations such as hospitals and day cares everyday. Severe infestations may take several months to eliminate no matter what products you use. Sanitation will be a key factor in eliminating the roaches. While there is no actual expiration date on Demon WP it is recommended that you use the product within about 3 years from the date of purchase. Demon WP should be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Demon WP should be used with 24 hours after it has been diluted with water. There are a couple of reasons for this 1.insecticides will start to degrade if they are left standing in water 2. Demon WP never truly dissolves in water and it will separate and clog your sprayer. You should also note that leaving liquids standing in your sprayer will void the warranty of most sprayers as most chemicals and even water will corrode the tank, seals and other sprayer parts when sprayer is not properly rinsed between uses.

Termites enter your house from under ground or from outside. There are no termite control products labeled to be used indoors. Demon Max is not labeled to apply indoors. To protect your home against termites properly, you should follow our How To Do A Termite Treatment article.

What happens if you accidentally spray Demon WP on your garden plants?

A

Demon WP will not kill any plants or harm them, but if these are edible plants unfortunately our recommendation is to discard them. We would not take a chance on eating anything that was sprayed with an insecticide that is not labeled for edible vegetation.

Demon WP is not specifically labeled for spider mites but it is labeled for mites in general and may work for spider mites. Most folks choose a product such as Talstar P as it is labeled for spider mites and is known to be gentle on plants.

Once the Demon WP has had a chance to dry it is going to be rain fast for several weeks. You should plan to re-apply Demon WP once a month outdoors for best insect control.

How do I keep sewer roaches out of my house?
I had wasps in my apartment and I used raid foggers to kill them, and I returned home to find dying wasps and a sewer roach in my room on the carpet-IT WAS HUGE. I'm terrified and have not been home since. I see the sewer roaches outside everywhere and I'm on the 2nd floor and I have no idea how it got in. I talkedd to my downstairs neighbor and she's seen 6 of them. With apartment living you do have the issue of having pests from your neighbors apartment enter into your apartment through the walls. Does Demon WP kill or destroy St Augustine's grass? Just layed down about 5 pallets of Raleigh St Augustine grass and would not like to have destroyed due to spraying something I shouldnt on it.

Demon WP is labeled for use on lawns and shouldn't cause any damage to your grass. We do recommend that you test a small area before you spray your entire lawn.

You cannot spray Demon WP or any other insecticide into your ducts. You can spray all around the exterior of your home and in your crawl space if you have one and around the vent covers. You should thoroughly check your duct work for holes and seal up any if found. In most cases insects are not actually in the ducts but instead they are crawling on exterior of them and then squeezing out beside the duct and coming out of the vent cover. You should remove the vent cover and caulk around the duct so that there are no opening allowing insects to pass beside the ducts and out of the vent covers.

Yards or other frequented areas enclosed by landscaping can benefit from the creation of a mosquito barrier to reduce invading mosquitoes by the treatment of perimeter vegetation. For best results, apply Demon WP at recommended rates in 2-5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Higher volumes applied result in better coverage and, as a rule, will improve control. Demon WP can reapplied every 4 weeks outdoors.

Demon WP cannot be applied to carpet for flea control indoors. According to the Demon WP product label Demon WP can only be used outdoors for flea control. When using Demon WP outdoors for flea control it is important that you apply the product to places where the fleas develop such as pet resting areas and moist shady spots and not just on the exterior of the structure. We recommend using Ultracide for indoor flea control. It is our recommendation and industry standard that you vacuum immediately before the application of Ultracide and every day or every other day after the application for the next two weeks. Vacuums can physically remove a decent percentage of flea eggs that are in the carpet, along with much of the organic crud that the flea larvae feed on. At the end of the 2 week treatment period you may be required to do a follow up treatment of Ultracide to get rid of any stragglers.

We do not recommend spraying Demon Wp into your sink drain. It is very unlikely that the scorpions are actually coming up the drain. Most drains have a P trap at the bottom of the pipe that stays filled with water. This P trap stops bad odors from coming up the pipe and it also stops insects and other animals from coming up the pipe. Unless your pipes are damaged, the scorpions are most likely coming in from a nearby window fame or around cables, pipes or wires that enter through the structure and they are falling in to the sink. You should spray every crack and crevice around window frames, door frames and places where cables, pipes and wires enter into the structure. You should also spray outdoors around your foundation and around window frames, door frames and places where cables, pipes and wires enter into the structure. Non-insecticide methods for scorpion control are: Harborage Removal- Harborage removal is key to scorpion control and will greatly reduce the numbers of scorpions in the area surrounding the structure, making it far less likely that they will enter. Harborage removal includes eliminating piles of lumber, bricks, and other stacked items that create clusters of tight spaces, elimination of vegetation and other heavy ground coverings near homes and buildings, trimming back tree and shrub limbs from walls and roof, and keeping gutters clear of leaves and other debris. Exclusion- Scorpions and other pests can be kept out of structures to a large degree by installing tight-fitting screens, weatherstripping around doors and windows, and caulking cracks and crevices.
