    Q
    Is Exponent a residual?
I was wondering if Exponent works as a residual with another insecticide like Onslaught for faster kill? Or does it work at the time of spraying only and not improve the residual effect of onslaught?
    A
Exponent is not a residual.  It is a contact kill product, or a "hot" product, meaning it adds a knock down punch to the product you add it to.  It is typically used with products like Onslaught that have long residuals, but not fast knock down qualities when they are applied.  Adding exponent will basically kill any insects that it touches when it is applied very quickly.  Once dry, exponent does not leave a residual and will not kill anything after it dries and evaporates.

    Q
I am trying to get rid of a large infestation of roaches in my house. Can I try Exponent?
    A
Exponent is only a synergizing agent and by itself, will not actually be able to kill insects. We recommend that you use the products contained in our Roach Control Kit #2. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 30 gram tubes of Advion Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Advion can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals

    Q
Can I mix this product with Onslaught or Talstar and use the combo in a non-thermo fogger?
I am trying to get rid of bird mites in my house.
    A
Neither Onslaught nor Talstar can be used in a fogger of any kind. In fact, you will be very hard pressed to find any type of concentrated insecticide that leaves a residual that you can use in a fogger for the use you have described. We understand that bird mites can be very frustrating to deal with and we have researched what products and methods have been successful for others. Please take a few minutes to read our article "How to get rid of bird mites" for our recommendations. It is important to know that no matter what product you choose it can take several months to get rid of bird mites.

  • Asked by Brayden
    06/08/2014
    Q
    Is Exponent a nonrepellant?
Not legally, but factually, would exponent make something like Phantom or Termidor "faster" or more effective, or, would it ruin the non repellent qualities of products? if so, I want to make sure my non repellent tank stays non repellent
    A
Mixing a non repellant like Phantom or Termidor with a synergist like Exponent will cause the Phantom or similar to become somewhat of a repellant and also speed up the knockdown which is counter productive because it doesn't encourage the domino effect as well as good as non repllants. Non repellants have a slower kill which allows it to spread much more thoroughly throughout insect populations through the transfer and delay effect. When you add a synergist to a non repellant you loose that added benefit.

  • Asked by Garret from Las Vegas, Nevada
    09/30/2014
    Q
Why would I use Onslaught and Exponent together?
My local distributor suggested using Onslaught and Exponent together. I have been using Demon WP and ExciteR for black light services. I'm wondering what the use of Exponent, which is straight piperonyl butoxide, with Onslaught, which already has piperonyl butoxide in it, would be.
    A
Onslaught FastCap does contain piperonyl butoxide and does have the same active ingredient as Exponent. Regular Onslaught does not contain the active ingredient piperonyl butoxide.  Exponent has more of the piperonyl butoxide which will increase the speed and level of control of pests. Someone that is mixing these two together wants a very quick kill time. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
How long can I keep Exponent in a 40 gallon tank diluted with Bifen IT before it starts to affect them?
    A

You never want to mix up any more product than you plan to use at a time when you are doing an application, whether it be Exponent Insecticide Synergist and Bifen IT, or other products. No chemicals should sit in a spray tank for longer than about 24 to 48 hours to ensure maximum effectiveness of the chemical before it starts breaking down, and to avoid unnecessary wear on your sprayer parts.

  • Asked by Angel from Houston Tx

    Q
Is Exponent Insecticide Synergist safe for pets outdoors?
I've used this product with growth inhibitor & Suspend, for crazy german roach infestation we had in our newly purchased home. These 3 products did the trick that professionals couldn't do. We also used Invict Gold for higher places and inside cabinets and walls. With that said, we did not have pets. We no longer have a roach problem...Thank you, God!...but the mosquitoes outside are fierce and relentless. Wondering if Exponent mixed with Demon WP or Suspend would work outdoors and be safe for pets and kids. Realize it needs to dry first, but after that is it safe? Thank you!
    A
Exponent Insecticide Synergist is safe for pets once it dries completely Exponent Insecticide Synergist may be used indoors and outdoors. For Mosquito control we would recommend Suspend SC mixed with Exponent Insecticide Synergist along with an IGR (insect growth regulator) such as Nyguard IGR for a fast knckdown, long residual, and to stop the reproductive cycle of mosquitoes as well as other labeled pest.

    Q
Will Exponent Insecticide Synergist flush out insects, as well as Stryker and ExciteR?
    A

Exponent Insecticide Synergist must be added to an insecticide concentrate to offer a knockdown. Exciter and Stryker contain also the active ingredient pyrethrin which kills insects quickly by direct contact only (not residual).

  • Asked by Jeff from Phoenix Az

    Q
What is the best product to kill Asian Tiger Mosquitos?
I am looking for quick knock down power and good residual power. I am also ok with mixing multiple product into a powerful cocktail. I am using a backpack blower/mister system
    A

The Mosquito Control Kit is a very good option for mosquito control. Talstar P is a very good product that can be used in a backpack sprayer. You will mix 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Be sure the spray the areas where the mosquitoes are, such as around bushes, trees, flowers, etc. It cannot be sprayed on any edibles. The Mosquito Beater WSP is used in areas with sitting water, such as ponds, fountains, etc. It will kill the mosquito larva. Exponent Insecticide Synergist does not have any insecticidal properties on its own; it can be added to insecticides such as Talstar for extra fast knockdown of target insects.

    Q
Should I use Exponent with Zenprox?
however, Zenprox IS exponent with etefenprox. is there really any use ? Seems like an absolute waste to me. Exponent mixed with transport mikron for an initial bed bug service.. now THAT'S awesome
    A

There is no need to mix Zenprox EC with an additional synergist, such as Exponent, since it already has piperonyl butoxide in it.

    Q
Can I mix Exponent with Dursban for grub control?
    A

Exponent Insecticide Synergist has no insecticidal properties of its ownbut can be mixed with other liquid insecticides to make them more effective. As Dursban is a product no longer available we cannot confirm that it could be used to effectively treat for grubs as we are not aware of the target pests on the product label.

    Q
What would Exponent do with Bifen IT? Would it help with the initial knockdown?
    A

Adding Exponent Insecticide Synergist to Bifen IT will give you a faster initial knockdown only.  Once dry only the residual of Bifen IT will be left behind to keep killing insects.
