Q

How do I mix the Fertilome Broad Spectrum Landscape & Garden Fungicide?
I am using an Ortho Dial N Spray Hose End Sprayer. The container holds 32 oz of liquid. Do I need to mix the fungicide with water? And how many tablespoons or ounzes should I use? I have some encore Azales that show signs of a fungus. Thanks for your help.

The mixing ratio of Ferti-Lome Broad Spectrum Landscape and Garden Fungicide is 6 teaspoons per gallon of water. This product does need to be mixed with water.

Ferti-lome Broad SpectrumLandscape and Garden Fungicide is labeled to be used on tomato plants up to the day of harvest. Pleae refer to page 10 & 11 for application instructions and more information.

When using Ferti-Lome Broad Spectrum Landscape and Garden Fungicide, the amount of water that should be mixed is dependant upon the aplication site. For vegetable gardens you would mix the appropriate amount of Ferti-Lome Broad Spectrum Landscape and Garden Fungicide with 1 gallon of water to cover 200 squre feet. For fruit and nut trees you would mix the indicated amount of this product into each 4 gallons of water to be used for each application, generally sufficient to treat 200 square feet. For ornamental garden area you would apply this product at a rate of 6 teaspoons per gallon, or 8 Tablespoons (4 fluid ounces) per 4 gallons of water unless other directions are given in the tables on the Product Label. Apply enough diluted spray per acre to provide thorough coverage of all Plant parts that are intended to be protected from Disease, generally ranging from 1/3 to 3 gallons per 1,000 square feet of ornamentl area.

Have and ash tree to large to spray and want to use something that will soak into the root system

Fertilome Broad Spectrum Landscape and Garden Fungicide is not a systemic. It does need to be sprayed directly on the leaves of the trees every 7-14 days depending on the disease.

Apple Trees are not listed within the product label information. Is this product effective against Cedar Rust in apples ?

Ferti-Lome Broad Spectrum Landscape and Garden Fungicide is not labeled for apple trees so we cannot recommend it for them.   Cedar Apple Rust is a tricky disease because it requires two hosts in fairly close proximity. Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate is labeled to treat this disease. You generally want to treat in early Spring from bud break for a few weeks until galls are dry and inactive. In many areas where there is a lot of apply growth, Junipers within several miles of the apple orchards are removed to prevent disease. You may want to take a picture of the disease and either email it to us for us to try and identify, or take it to your local master gardener for a better assessment. At that point we could tell you what would be the best product for you to use as well as the proper retreatment intervals for the disease. While it shouldn't cause any harm to use the Fertilome Broad Spectrum Fungicide we cannot say for sure it will help.

This product may be combined in the spray tank with EPA registered pesticide products that claim Copper as the active ingredient and are labeled for control of bacterial diseases of Tomatoes. Check the Copper Manufacturer’s product label for specific instructions, precautions and limitations prior to mixing this product.

You can instead use something the Triple Action which can also help with insects and mites. To control disease already present, apply this product on a 7 day schedule until disease pressure is eliminated. Then continue spraying on a 14 day schedule to prevent the disease from reoccurring. To prevent Rust Leaf Spot diseases, Anthracnose and Scab, begin applications at the first sign of spring budding.
