    Will Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser kill Muskrats if I put them into the Muskrat tunnels in my yard next to a pond?

    Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser will work for muskrats when placed in their tunnels. Our concern is that you said next to the pond. Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser can be harmful to aquatic life. We recommend to bait and trap them. You could use the Tomohawk Model 603 trap.

    If I was to use Giant Destroyer by just lighting it and putting it under my house would it do its job?

    Giant Destroyers cannot be used beneath manmade structures. Please take a few minutes to read over the Giant Destroyer product label so that you may better understand how to use the product and what precautions need to be taken when applying a cartridge.

    According to the Giant Destroyer product label:

    USE RESTRICTIONS: FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY. This product may be used only to control pocket gophers, moles, woodchucks, rats, skunks, and ground squirrels in non-crop areas (including residential lawns, parks, golf courses, re-forested areas, open fields) and in rangeland. Do not use where use of gas cartridges is prohibited by local ordinances. Do not use under buildings, homes, porches or any structure due to possible fire hazard. Only use inside of burrows and never inside of buildings. Product effectiveness may be limited in dry or porous soil which permits the escape of toxic gases from treated burrow.

    Why not use in the winter when you know he is in his hole?
    unless you see him run into a hole you have no idea if he in there or not.

    Burrows and underground tunnels are normally very extensive. Because of this fact it is recommended on the ladel to check for burrow actively prior to use to ensure the effectiveness of the Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser. Performing an application during winter may or may not give you desirable results.

    Will this product kill spruce trees if used under them?
    A
    This fuse on the Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser burns at about 450 degrees so getting it too close to the roots of a tree would be harmful and could burn them. The actual product itself is not harmful to any trees.

    Can you use the giant Destroyer smoke bomb in your attic to get rid of bats?

    Absolutely not. The Giant Destroyer is basically a smoke bomb that is only intended for outdoor use in burrows to control Moles, Gophers, ground squirrels and other rodent-like animals. This product is made for air tight travel ways of animals and cannot be used inside homes, attics or crawlspaces.  Please refer to our approved Bat products.

    Would Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser work if I have Gophers?
    I want to make sure that I have gophers first. I see horse shoe shape mounds. I bought gopher bait from you, based on the description of the mounds do I have gophers or moles? The problem is in my front lawn.

    Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser would definitely work to kill Gophers as well as Moles. We recommend that you look over the Gopher Idetification, Mole Identification and Mole Inspection Guides so you can see what their behaviors are like and also the difference between Gopher and Mole damage.

    Will a gopher killed by Giant Destroyer harm dog if he digs it up and eats it

    After using Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser the risk for secondary poisoning is very minimal. Giant Destroyer kills by the rodent breathing in the gas. Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Can I use the Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser in the walls of my house?
    I have trapped a few rodents in my house and have heard more in the walls.

    No,  Giant Destroyer  cannot be used in the walls of your home. It is a smoke bomb in a sense, that is meant to be place outside in burrows and holes under the ground. It is not permissible to use this product inside.

    Will the smoke contaminate water?
    I have an enclosed deck next to my pool where a groundhog is living. If I use Giant Destroyer will it contaminate my pool water?

    Is the Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb still a fire hazard where skunks have dug under the concrete foundation of our home?
    We have tried trapping,covering holes,putting down bricks,lights,loud noises. I want them to leave.

    Yes, there is potential fire hazard and danger to using Giant Destroyer Smoke Bombs off-label. These are only made for use in closed burrows in the ground and should not be applied anywhere under or in a structure.

    Can I use Giant Destroyer to control insects in a house with just the studs and framing?
    I'm buying a cabin that has been empty for over a year. I will take the wall down back to the studs. Before I start work I wanted to use your product to kill everything in the cabin. It is about 950sq feet.

    The Giant Destroyer is meant to kill moles and golphers, animals that burrow into the ground.  This product is made for air tight travel ways of animals.  It would not be effective in a cabin or house because it is not air tight.  Also, the product specifically states it is not to be used inside buildings.  You should use our CB PCO Foggers which are for inside buildings and houses.  Each can will treat 5,000 cubic feet.

    Can a Giant Destroyer be used in a coyote den/burrow?
    The opening to the burrow is approximately 12 in x 12 in or slightly greater.
    A
    The Giant Destroyers are only designed to be used in a hole/tunnel in the ground where it can be covered and let the gas it releases build up to suffocate the animals to death.  We cannot advise that you use the product for anything larger than Moles, Woodchucks, or skunks per the product label.

    Can Giant Destroyer be used in armadillo burrows?
    I have a family of dillos under my foundation. Can I safely use the bomb in the holes dug by these horrible critters. I want them to leave before they destroy my house.
    A

    You cannot safely use the Giant Destroyers under any structure. You may want to try to build a one way door by securing a bit of hardware cloth (or chicken wire) on three sides over the entrance and leaving one corner for the armadillos to push their way out. After the one way door is constructed, throw a large cloth soaked in ammonia into the burrow. This will usually stir the animals up and make them move out. Once they push their way out, they will not understand how to lift the one way door to get back in. It is very important that you permanently seal up the burrow to stop new armadillos from moving in.

    Alternatively, you can try trapping the armadillos with a cage trap. The Tomahawk 108.1 would work well for this job. Fresh fruit can work to attract the animals into the trap but earthworms is the best known bait to attract armadillos. You can put the earthworms in a cup with a lid and lots of small holes or in a piece of panty hose in the back of the trap to stop them from escaping. Once the armadillo is trapped, you must decide what to do with the critter. You should contact your local animal control to see what the requirement is in your region. Some places require that the animal be destroyed and others require that they be released on private property.

    How does the Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser stay lit once the hole is covered up and there is no oxygen?

    Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser will still release the gas once covered in the ground. The heat from the lit fuse will cause it to ignite.

    How long does the gas from the Giant Destroyer remain in the soil?

    The Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser does not leave any residual behind.  Once a cartridge is done burning and has killed the mole, the smoke dissipates and is no longer present.
