Terry from Calhoun, La writes

I have 1 acre of Tifway 419 bermuda grass. What is a good pre-emergent?

I will be using a 20 gallon pull behind sprayer on mower. Also have established plants around house. Any recommendations as to what to use? When to start?

Answer:

Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) would be a good pre-emergent option for you.  It is labeled for most common weeds.  The application timing will vary according to the exact weeds you are targeting and your specific region.  We recommend contacting your local extension office to confirm the right application timing for your needs.  We do have a Lawn Care Schedule on our site with general time frames that may also be helpful.
