DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
AVOIDING INJURY TO NON-TARGET PLANTS
It is not recommended to apply this product directly to, or allow spray drift to come in contact with ornamental plants, vegetables, flowers, and other crops. Product can affect exposed broadleaf plants directly through foliar contact and indirectly by root uptake from treated soil. Unless this label specifies it, it is not advisable to apply this product to any broadleaf crop or ornamental planting or to places where sensitive plants will be planted during the same growing season.
Ground Application:
When using ground equipment, spray drift may be minimized by keeping the spray boom as low as possible, by applying 10 or more gallons or more of spray per acre, by keeping the operating spray pressures at the minimum recommended pressure for the specified nozzle type used, and by spraying when the wind velocity is low. Avoid application under completely calm conditions which may be conducive to air inversion.
For hand-gun applications, choose the minimum pressure required to achieve enough coverage of plants without forming a mist. Do not apply with a mist blower.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Water Dilution - To prepare a water dilution:
- Put 3/4 of the required spray volume to the spray tank and begin agitation.
- Add the required amount of HI-YIELD RANGE AND PASTURE CLOPYRALID 3.
- Surfactants, adjuvants or drift control agents may be added according to manufacturer's label.
- Agitate during final filling of the spray tank and maintain enough agitation during application to ensure uniformity of the spray mixture.
Note: Allow time for thorough mixing of each spray ingredient before adding the next. If allowed to stand after mixing, agitate spray mixture before use.
APPLICATION DIRECTIONS
Application Timing:
It is recommended to be applied on actively growing weeds. Extreme growing conditions such as drought or near freezing temperatures prior to, at, and following time of application may lessen weed control. Only those weeds that emerged at the time of application will be affected. Wet foliage at the time of application may decrease control. The treatment with HI-YIELD RANGE AND PASTURE CLOPYRALID 3 will be rainfast within 2 hours after application.
Application Rates:
In most cases, application rates at the lower end of the recommended rate range will be great for young, succulent growth of susceptible weed species. For less sensitive species, perennials, and under conditions where control is more difficult (plant stress conditions such as drought or extreme temperatures, dense weed stands and/or large weeds), the higher rates within the rate range will be needed.
Use of Adjuvants:
Addition of surfactants, crop oils, or other adjuvants may increase effectiveness of HI-YIELD RANGE AND PASTURE CLOPYRALID 3 herbicide. If an adjuvant is added to the spray solution, follow all manufacturer use guidelines.
Spray Coverage:
Use sufficient spray volume to provide thorough coverage and a uniform spray pattern. Do not broadcast apply in less than 2 gallons of total spray volume per acre. For best results and to minimize spray drift, apply in a spray volume of 10 or more gallons per acre. As vegetative canopy and weed density increase, spray volume should be increased to obtain equivalent weed control. Use only nozzle types and spray equipment designed for herbicide application. To reduce spray drift, follow precautions under Avoiding Injury to NonTarget Plants.
Cut Surface Treatments:
Apply HI-YIELD RANGE AND PASTURE CLOPYRALID 3 in rights-of-way and other non-crop areas to control unwanted trees and vines in the legume family such as mimosa, locust, redbud and wisteria.
Stump Treatment:
Spray or paint the cut surfaces of freshly cut stumps and stubs with a 50/50 mix of HI-YIELD RANGE AND PASTURE CLOPYRALID 3 and water. The cambium area next to the bark is the most vital area to wet. This should be done as soon as the tree or vine has been cut.
