I have had a carpenter ant problem for a while. I have applied it to the top of my chain link fence, and the next day it is all gone. I have seen a dramatic decrease in the ants. I have also applied it around my pool where I have seen them, they are gone. I would highly recommend this product. Carlos Miami, FL

Used this to annihilate a large carpenter ant colony. The ants were in the wood exterior of my home and in an large oak tree. I treated several places over the duration of a few months. When I found they originated in an oak tree, I gave them a hefty dose inside the damaged tree trunk and that really did the trick. Unfortunately, a new colony of ant (a bit smaller with wings) recently moved back to the tree about 9 months after I killed the last colony. I'm going to try this product again.
Amazingly effective product!

Our carpenter ant invasion was stopped dead in it's tracks with this product! Once we found the point of entry and set up a few traps containing the Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait, it took less than an hour for the ants to find and less than 24 hours before the ants were gone!
Ants Active in Winter Months - Upstate New York
By C on 03/23/2016
We occasionally saw a carpenter ant or two upstairs in the summer months. However, during December, January and February, we would also see them which meant they had a nest inside of the house. I realized that there was some moisture in my outside upstairs bathroom wall and tracked the nest to that location. About 30 years ago, I had cut a removable section of sheet rock in the lower wall area of the bathroom linen closet to access the bathtub trap. By removing that section (15"x 12") of sheetrock, I could see exactly where they were coming out from behind the outside wall insulation. I was looking at the outside bottom of the tub which resembled the hull of a ship. My problem was compounded by the fact that there were wet spots in that location which I eventually figured out were caused by caulking along the bathtub that allowed water through during a shower. It took me more than 3 weeks and I bought 2 tubes of the Gel to feel satisfied that I had pretty much wiped out the nest. To date I have used about 1 and 1/4 tubes of the 2 purchased. I am bracing myself for the warmer weather to see what transpires. I initially applied the gel on strips of heavy paper down the full length of the tub. Eventually I applied the gel on the framing wood right where they were coming out from behind the insulation. My application points were not accessible by any household members or pets, which was good.
awesome!

I had tried the boric acid/powdered sugar bait, even putting it down right in front of the ants but they took one sniff and walked away. I bought one tube of Maxforce and it disappeared right away. I watched some ants take bits of the gel and drop it off their path so I was concerned that they were wise to me. After 3 days there were still a few ants around so I ordered two more tubes and some of the granules as the ants were coming into our basement suite and our tenant was NOT happy. But after 5 days there was not one ant to be seen and it's now been two weeks. This stuff REALLY works. Yeah!
It works!!!

We tried the natural route of boric acid and sugar, even putting it down right in their path but they got close then walked away without touching it. We bought one tube of the Maxforce gel and within two days we had a fraction of the ants. By day 4 there were none and we haven't seen any for 3 weeks now. Yahoo!
Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel
By Tom on 05/08/2016
Unless you can find and destroy the nest, especially the queen, spraying is usually a losing battle. The ants carry the gel back to the nest and feed the queen her last meal. Wait a few days after applying the gel to areas where the ants travel, and your ant problems should be over. Works very well!

We had a massive carpenter ant invasion in our southerly room in late April. In the beginning we saw a several ants a day, then over 20 ants a day for a week. We first used Advance Carpenter Ant Bait, but it did not work because the ants just ignored it. Then we used Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait. This time they loved the bait and devoured it. The following day we found 30~40 dead ants on the floor. The next day another 30~40 dead ants. Then only a few dead ants on the third day and nothing since then. I am very happy about the result!

Have been fighting carpenter ants for many years now. This year we got a species that was chewing up dry wood in the garage. Put some gel near the work area and ant activity started to slow down in about 3 days. Had another nest behind the soffit, put some on the path of the ant movement and seems to have worked too. Good product.
Absolutely the best!

great stuff, but small tubes
By Jo on 06/17/2016
The only problem I find is that the tubes don't seem to cover as much area as they use to. I use to be able to do my whole perimeter of the house with one tube, but now it takes almost 2 tubes. It has changed a bit over the years in color and consistency, but I always come back to it because it works well. I did prefer the thicker gel, but this still seems to work. Been a couple of weeks and haven't seen the ants back yet.

Did not Work on Florida Carpenter Ant.
By Mike on 07/29/2016
I have the Florida carpenter ants (Camponotus) and they ignored the bail alltogether. Maybe it is the wrong season but those little peckers live in my house and there is nothing I can do except start tearing walls down
Expert response:
If you are unsuccessful with baiting methods, we recommend you try using a non-repellent spray such as Phantom indoors or Termidor in wall voids and on the exterior. Both of these products work somewhat like bait in that they are transferred back to the colony, but the ant merely have to cross over a treated area vs having to be interested in a food source. We hope this information has been helpful!
It works!

I recently bought a home with a rotten sliding glass door. We tried to rig it to last another few months until we could have it replaced, ants poured out of it when we ripped a rotten piece out. I never even knew what carpenter ants were until the door install guy told me. He seemed concerned we had so many which worried me. After the door was replaced we still had carpenter ants. Less but still there. I tried a few things from menards to kill them and they were all fails. I figured for 20 bucks this better work... IT DID! I couldnt figure out exact point of entry and couldnt risk leaving excess on the floor for my dog to lick up. I gave the ants i saw in the house the gel directly and let them go on thier merry way. A week later not a single ant, and its been months. Carpenter ants are so hard to get rid of and this stuff does the trick.

The gel worked PERFECTLY !
By Michael on 09/06/2016
For several years now my Mom has been seeing carpenter ants in her home. I recently sprayed the outside of the house perimeter with Permethrin then Bifen I/T. Must have worked well as I found many dead ants at base of brick work. BUT they started foraging like crazy INSIDE the house/kitchen! They were trapped in the house! D.M.O.P.C to the rescue!! Read reviews, instructions, and ordered a tube of Maxforce gel. I put out a small squirt in front of the first ant I saw. He LOVED It and brought friends and within an hour a dozen were feeding on a quarter sized puddle. Freaky to watch. Maintained that size puddle every day and 3 days later not a live ant in sight.... and 1 week later still none! Note, the first few squirts were very fluid and shot everywhere then the gel came out. The ants cleaned up those first messy squirts, even on a door!!! Thank you Bayer scientists.... and DoMyOwnPestControl for making Mom happy ..........and my life easier!!!
