Product Overview

The Mouse iQ Snap Trap for combines a professional mouse snap trap with integrated Bluetooth sensing technology to help pest management professionals monitor traps more efficiently. The built-in sensor records and timestamps rodent activity and communicates with the Bell Sensing app when technicians are servicing an account. Trap status can be checked from up to 100 ft. away, reducing the need to physically access every trap during routine inspections.

Its compact footprint allows the Mouse iQ Trap to be positioned directly along mouse travel routes, including areas such as heat registers, drop ceilings, rafters, insulation areas, and crawl spaces. The trap features a fully integrated battery, proprietary sensor, and antenna in a water- and weather-proof design suitable for demanding pest management environments. The ability to check trap status remotely within Bluetooth range may also reduce unnecessary ladder use and entry into difficult-to-access areas when traps are empty.

Details

The Mouse iQ Snap Trap for Mice from Bell Laboratories incorporates Bell Sensing technology directly into a compact mouse snap trap. Instead of requiring technicians to manually access every trap to determine whether a capture has occurred, the Mouse iQ uses its integrated sensor and Bluetooth antenna to communicate trap information to the Bell Sensing app from up to 100 ft. away.

The sensor timestamps rodent activity, allowing pest management professionals to collect additional information about when mouse activity is occurring at an account. This can help technicians focus service time on active devices and problem areas rather than repeatedly inspecting empty traps. Bell describes the operating status in straightforward terms as catch or no catch.

The Mouse iQ measures only 4 x 1.75 x 2.75 inches, giving it a small footprint for placement in areas where mice naturally travel. Bell specifically shows or identifies applications around HVAC areas, insulation, drop ceilings, crawl spaces, heat registers, and rafters.

Each trap includes the battery, sensor, and antenna as integrated components. The unit is constructed to be water- and weather-proof, making it suitable for professional monitoring programs where environmental conditions may vary.

Bluetooth Monitoring

Mouse iQ uses Bluetooth technology rather than requiring separate gateway equipment for basic trap checks. While technicians are servicing an account, compatible traps communicate with the Bell Sensing app so trap status and recorded activity can be reviewed from a distance.

The Bluetooth connection can reach up to approximately 100 ft., although actual communication distance may vary depending on building construction, obstructions, interference, and other site conditions. Bell specifically markets this capability for traps placed in locations such as ceilings, rafters, crawl spaces, and other areas that may otherwise require additional physical access.

Integrated Activity Sensor

The proprietary sensor within the Mouse iQ records and timestamps rodent activity. This provides technicians with more information than a visual inspection alone and can assist with determining when activity is occurring at a particular device. Recorded information is transferred through the Bluetooth connection to the Bell Sensing app during account service.

Compact Professional Design

The compact Mouse iQ allows technicians to place traps directly along likely mouse runways and other areas of activity. Its small footprint is especially useful where larger monitoring or trapping devices may be difficult to position.

Potential placement areas include:

  • HVAC and heat register areas
  • Drop ceilings
  • Rafters
  • Insulation areas
  • Crawl spaces
  • Along walls and established mouse travel routes
  • Other protected areas where mouse activity has been identified

Application Instructions

Install the Bell Sensing app on a compatible smart device and follow the manufacturer's setup instructions to connect and configure the Mouse iQ trap.

Inspect the treatment area for signs of mouse activity, including droppings, rub marks, gnawing, tracks, and established travel routes. Position the trap where mice are likely to encounter it, preferably along walls, structural edges, or other known runways.

Mouse iQ's compact size allows placement in locations such as heat registers, drop ceilings, rafters, insulation areas, crawl spaces, and similar confined or difficult-to-access areas.

Set the snap trap according to the manufacturer's instructions. During subsequent service visits, use the Bell Sensing app within Bluetooth range to check trap status and review timestamped activity information.

Inspect and service traps showing activity or a capture. Remove captured rodents using appropriate sanitation and personal protective practices, reset the trap as needed, and continue monitoring until mouse activity has been resolved.
