Per the product label, you should apply when the plants are actively growing and before setting seed head. It is important to understand and practice non-chemical methods for controlling many types of bamboo as well since established bamboo can be very difficult to completely eradicate. NuFarm Polaris Herbicide is labeled to control Cogongrass, but it is not labeled for kudzu. While the ingredients in Polaris should in theory be able to do at least some damage on the kudzu, you may find you need to mix in some Roundup, or a brush killer type product such as Crossbow Herbicide to achieve full results on vine type plants such as kudzu. Keep in mind anywhere you use the Polaris should be outside the root zone of any desirable vegetation since this can sterilize the soil and prevent new growth for a period of time.
Nufarm Polaris Herbicide is not labeled for marsh dewflower (murdannia keisak) which is in the spiderwort family.
