The Pennington Pro Care Crabgrass Control Plus .37 Prodiamine 0-0-7 has potassium in it, which helps the overall growth/health of the grass. The Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension will provide some early post emergent control of crabgrass as well. The Pennington product offers no early post emergent control.

Typically you either need to wait until the following season, or at least 12 weeks after applying pre-emergents before you can overseed. Alternatively, most pre-emergents should not be used on newly seeded or overseeded turf until the new grass is well established - typically after the second mowing. Be sure that you always check the product label of what you plan to use for specific timing and other application instructions. For the Pennington Pro Care Crabgrass Control Plus 0.37 Prodiamine 0-0-7, you should not apply this product within 60 days after seeding or until the second mowing, whichever is longer. For seeding, this product will inhibit germination of turf seed if overseeded too soon after application. Please refer to the chart and complete application directions on the product label. The exception on this specific product is that you may use it on newly sprigged or plugged Bermudagrass at rates not to excees 3.3 lbs/1000 sq ft. Newly sprigged or plugged Bermudagrass may be temporarily retarded.

These recommended timing rates and the annual maximum rates will depend on your turf type, per the product label. For example, if you have Tall Fescue turf, then you can apply twice a year at 4 lbs per 1,000 square feet, and you would still be within the annual maximum of 9.2 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.

Pennington Pro Care Crabgrass Control Plus .37 Prodiamine 0-0-7  can be applied with a drop spreader. If your spreader settings go from 1 to 10 (1 letting out the least and 10 letting out the most) you typically want to be around a 3 setting. If your spreader goes from 1 to 20, you should probably be around a 6 or 7 setting. The goal is to just run out of product when you are done walking the 1000 square feet. One person may walk faster than someone else, so they may place It on a higher setting than someone that walks slower. Almost all fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, etc have treatments in amounts of so much product per 1000 square feet. So if you can figure out what your walking speed is then you know anytime you apply any product that calls for so much of it per 1000 square feet, you always set your spreader on this setting. You can calibrate this by marking off a 1000 square foot (10 x 100) area and placing 4 ounces of any type of product of similar granule size, or of the extinguish in the spreader. Start with a low setting and start walking your marked off area at a normal pace. You can adjust as you go and find the basic setting for you to apply the product over a 1000 square feet.

What spreader setting do you use when applying Pennington Pro Care Crabgrass Control?
Anyone figure out a setting for a Scott's Broadcast spreader? I contacted Pennington, and they told me they don't know and to contact Scotts. Scotts told me they don't have spreader setting for non-Scotts products. I don't understand the calibrating method that is provided by Support, because doesn't that just waste product?

Can this be used on estab. Manchar Smooth Bromegrass, Climax Timothy, Fawn Tall Fescue, and Latar Orchard Grass?
I had a pretty severe crabgrass problem in a 10-acre grass pasture last year (see the above list of grasses in my pasture). Can I use this product on those grasses? Also, can you send me a copy of this product's label? Finally, is there a distributor/warehouse near Lewiston/Moscow Idaho where I can pick up 15 bags or so with my truck?
