Can permethrin sfr be sprayed on and around compost piles
large swarms of flies around the compost pile.

A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled to be used on compost piles. We do carry Naprovit Pro Plus which is labeled for use on compost for pest control.

Can you tell me why? Permethrin SFR is not labeled to be used in home lawns for mosquito control

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for mosquitoes in lawns at all so not recommended. It is only labeled for treating mosquitoes in livestock premises.

For mosquitoes key is to apply to the underside of leaves on trees/bushes which is where the adults lay during the day, as well as shady areas

For mosquitoes key is to apply to the underside of leaves on trees/bushes which is where the adults lay during the day, as well as shady areas. You would not treat entire areas of the lawn that are in full sun as it is not habitable for them there.

Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. Dense or excessive (greater than 3 inches) lawn height and arid conditions may require higher volume application rates. Repeat application if necessary. Application in combination with compatible surfactants or wetting agents may enhance penetration. You want to make sure you are using enough water to get it down to where they are better so 1 gallon is usually not enough.

The Permethrin SFR 36.8% Insecticide Product Label states under the PPE section: All other mixers, loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear:
- Long-sleeve shirt and pants,
- Shoes plus socks, and
- Chemical-resistant gloves for all handlers except for applicators using motorized ground equipment,
- Chemical-resistant apron for mixers/loaders, persons cleaning equipment, and person exposed to the concentrate and for handlers performing animal dip applications.

In general you should try to keep the animal from excessively licking or biting at themselves after an application. If you can set aside a little time after the application to be in the animals area and keeping an eye on them while they dry out and the product absorbs, that would be ideal. There isn't a way to completely keep an animal from gaining access to some on their bodies, and to an extent this has been taken into account for by the manufacturer in these types of applications. If you have any concerns about your specific animals health or safety when using the product on them, we'd recommend contacting the manufacturer directly or discussing the treatment with your vet prior to use and application.

We recommend using a product such as Delta Dust Insecticide to apply directly to the bored holes, and this product can be reapplied every 2 weeks as necessary. You can use a Bellow Hand Duster to make the application. This way, the hornets will fly through the dust picking it up and carrying it on their bodies back to the nest. I want to add a foaming agent like the OutLAST Pro to a diluted Permethrin SFR solution and spray the mixture as a foam with an iK Foam Pro 12 Sprayer into the void of a drywall to kill termites. It that doable?

Should I water my lawn straight after using permethrin?

A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% would not be watered in/rained after application and you should delay watering for 24 hours after application. Per the product label only when using chemigation, a minimum of 0.5 inch per acre of irrigation water is recommended.

How does Pemetheran work? We have a log cabin and have tons of flies coming in all during the seasons.We caulked every crack and hole we could possibly find.
